Well...I put videos up on my Youtube. And I like playing games, though modern games are usually not tickling my fancy now. I'll take the virtual console ANY day! Pokemon White 2 FC = 4599-7354-7776

Kirbic commented on 3DS Web Browser Exploit Allows Game Boy Color ...:

Thing I notice from looking at these things is that the dumped game seems to support all the features of the Virtual Console Emulator just fine. The save state, suspension upon quitting, will reset completely on Reset, can be put into sleep during sleep mode...makes me honestly wonder why more Game Boy Color games (Pokemon aside, I'd say the Game Boy is sorted) aren't on the eShop.

Kirbic commented on A Keen Retro Gamer Has Produced a Handy Virtua...:

Wait...can't we know if a pro controller works right now? If I've heard correctly, Super Mario Galaxy 2 brings up the Wii Menu when paused. That Wii Menu's pointer can be moved using a classic controller in Wii Mode so why don't people just try to do that?

Also, here's hoping the gamepad-as-classic-controller extends to Wii Mode at some point! True Off-TV play of Majora's Mask and Rondo of Blood...hey, I can dream.

Kirbic commented on Reminder: Club Nintendo New 3DS Ambassador Pro...:

No email here...which is actually OK with me. I'm not really looking at the New 3DS (And if I was, I'd want only the console) since nothing for it is heavily tempting me and my normal regular 3DS has a capture card port I kinda frequently use now.

Kirbic commented on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Holds Top 20 Posit...:

I'm honestly surprised Captain Toad was in the Top 20 it's first week. I love the game and was sinking hours into it before getting Bayonetta at last. But in the UK, let's just just say I had to look around a LOT for a price I was willing to pay. GAME, the main store for video games here, is selling it for £45 in store for example. <_<

Kirbic commented on Satoru Iwata Confirms That DS Games Are Coming...:

SNES and N64 games aren't playable on the Wii as you need the Classic Controller or the Gamecube controller. Wiimote alone won't play them, nor will the Nunchuck.

If gamecube games ever happen (And they'd better. GBA and DS? Gamecube should be on the cards before those IMO...) then a new controller styled after a gamecube one, complete with those analog triggers, could be released to play them with.

Kirbic commented on Review: Super Mario Bros. 3 (Wii U eShop / NES):

@Nintenjoe64 I have no clue why Duck Hunt's not been done yet, personally. The Wii-mote can simulate the gun nicely enough for Wii U or even the Wii's one. If it ended up on 3DS, the touchscreen works too. They gave Pokemon Snap an extra feature using the Wii's hardware, so why not Duck Hunt when it makes too much sense?

Kirbic commented on Iwata: Third Party Wii U Launch Titles Could N...:

This really annoyed me at the launch. Nintendo Land, Mario U and Sonic Transformed were the only games I bought at launch. Eventually, I did get Need for Speed and I LOVED it, but the other ported games didn't feel as good as the alternatives. Pikmin 3, a game I bought a Wii U for, is still not out yet either, which is really bugging me now.

I don't count Black Ops 2 or Sonic Transformed, BTW. Thought it was worth saying that since I see them getting mentioned, but both were released really close to the other versions, with the little weeks between them being the Wii U launching. Both seem to be really good versions of each game anyway, lack of DLC for Black Ops 2 notwithstanding.

Kirbic commented on Nintendo Download: 20th June (Europe):

Tails Adventure? YES!! THAT is the Game Gear game I've been waiting for. Instant buy and nearly completes what I personally wanted out of the 3DS VC. Just Pokemon to go to complete the portable retro package I want.

New Super Luigi U is a buy for sure too. Maybe Little Inferno as well.

Kirbic commented on Nintendo Download: 13th June (Europe):

Saw Sonic and got excited, but I was really after Tails Adventure. Oh well. Columns is nice too and I'll have a look at Shining Force.

Oh...and my free Animal Crossing, of course.

Kirbic commented on Senior EA Employee Caught Out Criticising Wii ...:

"It is an utterly intentional decision..."

This is the killing blow of the whole thing. The guy is giving his opinions and I really believe he is a moron for most of those opinion, like how he says "Gen 4" and implies the Gamepad is a downside, but once he said those words, his thoughts suddenly become EA's thoughts and not purely his own. THIS is a problem. A Microsoft employee got fired for shouting "Deal With It" in the face of people annoyed about the idea of "always online", but he didn't outright speak for his company. This guy is.

Kirbic commented on Nintendo Claiming Ad Revenue On YouTube User-G...:

Making money off Let's Play sounds stupid to me anyway, considering every asset in the video except your voice is someone else's. Nintendo are not only in their rights to do this, but if they don't intend to remove the video, that's more important to me than a portion of, IMO, a silly source of income.

Kirbic commented on Feature: 3DS - A Report Card Ahead of Its Bigg...:

More Game Gear stuff. I want Tails Adventure, and it is rated. And can they focus less on NES stuff for the 3DS? I'd rather see more retro portable games released on it. That's what I'm using the 3DS's VC for. I'm not likely to buy GBA games on the Wii U's eShop for a similar reason. I use that for retro home-console releases.

Lastly, Pokemon for the VC. Link Cable support via Wireless is not needed for me to enjoy the 1st generation again, though I really want Crystal personally. And if that link-cable functionality is really so important and GB games won't ever have it, release Pokemon as a 3D Classic to allow for more modern features. Problem solved.

That aside, I'm happy with the way the 3DS is going. Virtual Console is really the only part I have nitpicks with that I feel are worth saying.

Kirbic commented on Talking Point: DLC's Increasingly Important Ro...:

I've liked how DLC has been handled by Nintendo so far. The extra maps in Fire Emblem and the extra levels in NSMB2 actually feel like that. Extras. Not something cut from the game, but a pure extra you can pick up if you want. Given I like their handling of it, I wouldn't mind seeing more DLC from Nintendo.

That said, I hope they don't fall into the style everyone else seems to have. The product sold in the store should be a finished product and feel like it's the full package. Any DLC? Just a nice extra helping you can have, but don't need to have.

Kirbic commented on Wii U Virtual Console Launch Lineup Is Revealed:

I'm not getting NES, SNES(Maybe Earthbound, actually) or N64 games on the Wii U's virtual console. The Wii Mode already has the games from those I wanted and I don't care enough about Gamepad support for a VC title to pay for it.

Once Gamecube or Game Boy Advance games turn up, or more that skipped the Wii like Earthbound, then I'll give Nintendo money.

Kirbic commented on Rumour: Batman: Arkham Origins to Include Mult...:

I'd prefer that the Single Player got the main focus normally as I don't really see Multiplayer Arkham being anything special...except they aren't making us play as Batman. We're the villians. THAT sounds interesting and worth exploring in my opinion. Still think the single player deserves more attention but this multiplayer has my attention.

The "and Robin" bit has me wondering if Robin's there out the box too.

Kirbic commented on Nintendo of Europe Offers Free Game in "So Man...:

Got Luigi and am going to get Fire Emblem. I BADLY want Animal Crossing as well, but since it's the only retail game I've ever wanted to download, I'll let it be my freebie. Not sure what other game to get since they don't interest me too much on the whole...Donkey Kong comes the closest.

Might spread the word about this a lot where I am. I know lots of people that got Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem and are looking at Mystery Dungeon, but aren't on the Club Nintendo thing. A free retail game, especially out of this lot and with downloadable Animal Crossing being one of the options, is surely worth registering for.

Kirbic commented on Feature: Nintendo Life's Staff Favourites - Su...:

I was about to complain about how low Super Metroid is on the list, but reading further down...I personally would still put it further up but I've really underestimated the brilliance of the SNES library and can see why people prefer those games to Super Metroid.

Kirbic commented on Review: Kirby's Adventure (Wii U eShop / NES):

Since I've already got this on my Wii Menu, I'm not getting it. But that doesn't change the fact that this is EASILY my favourite NES game. Actually, I like Adventure more than Super Star. Dodges incoming bullets 30p? Bargin!

I personally think this game has more asthetic appeal than it's remake too, BTW. For one, IIRC, the towers in Butter Building don't rotate on the GBA whereas they do here.

Kirbic commented on Talking Point: Fire Emblem: Awakening - The Bi...:

I intend to play Hard Classic once I get the game. But I have no issues with an easier mode being included and don't really see why anyone would, especially given how much soft reset is used anyway by Fire Emblem players.

Kirbic commented on Wii U System Update Coming Next Week:

"In addition to this, you'll be able to boot the console into Wii mode by holding down the B button when you switch it on."

WIN!! My Wii U Library is still young and needs time to grow, but the Wii Library I have still sees a lot of playtime even ignoring my big list of Virtual Console stuff!

That's probably going to be an issue with Wii U VC, now that I think about it. I already have a lot of the stuff I want from older consoles on the Wii Menu and don't care enough about Gamepad play to pay the upgrade charge. Here's hoping GCN stuff makes it onto it. Kinda interested in the GBA stuff that I think was mentioned too, though I'd rather my VC stuff on the Wii U was home console stuff like my 3DS VC stuff is portable system stuff. Only kept Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and Yoshi for download play.

...oh, and quicker loading times are nice too...haven't noticed them too much on the Wii U because I don't shuffle around its menus like on my 3DS.

Kirbic commented on Review: Pokémon Red and Blue (Game Boy):

"’re a young light-hearted kid by the name of Ash..."

Must...resist...urge to correct...

Unless Yellow or the 2nd generation comes out around the same time, I'm snapping Red up on the 3DS's VC the second it end up there! Wireless support or otherwise, since I found plenty of play time from these games on my own.

Kirbic commented on Vote: Pick Your Favourite NES Games:

For me personally, it goes...

1: Kirby's Adventure
2: Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link
3: Mega Man 3
4: Punch Out
5: Super Mario Bros 3
6: Mega Man 2
7: Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse
8: Balloon Fight
9: Metroid
10: Super Mario Bros 2: The Lost Levels (Kid Icarus instead if Japan only games don't count)

While on the subject of NES games, has anyone else from Europe noticed that the 3 NES Ambassador Titles that were going to support download play have been updated now? Yoshi's a bit meh, but I killed a lot of time with Ice Climber and Balloon Fight recently with my mates.

Kirbic commented on HMV Buyout Saves High Street Retailer:

As someone who prefers finding a Physical Game in a store as opposed to a digital copy I can't sell if I get sick of it or a lengthy wait for an online order without being sure of the condition, I'm really glad to hear this news! HMV's one of the main places I check for games and trade in my games to.

Kirbic commented on Talking Point: The Downside to Delayed Release...:

Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker HD are REQUIRED buys for me! Wind Waker especially, as I never owned the original and no longer own a console that plays Gamecube games anyway.

Rayman's not a series I'm into much (At least in 2D) but the demo was pretty good. Good enough that I don't see why the delay deserves a boycott, especially since the developers (You know, the guys that made the game...) are just as annoyed as Rayman's fans.
