I still play for a bit almost everyday. You become invested in the town and inhabitants. I just park outside the local McD's for the n-zone connection. My grandson who is 3000 miles away and I visit each other's towns once a week. Of course, I give him 1 million bells each time, lol.

@ryanator008 I get the idea that when you complain you consider it complaining. When others complain you consider it whining. Look up what George Carlin said about stuff.

I said they would know the whys of it thru websites such as this airing people's dissatisfaction with there decision. Will customer dissatisfaction have any impact? I honestly don't know. You must have a crystal ball because you are certain of everything.

@Rocky2418
Hell is pretty crowded. Mine began March 16, 2001. Like you, there's no way back. Gaming helps, tho, doesn't it? Anticipation for consoles and games is something to look forward to, to let some light in. No, it's not life changing or anything, but it's fun which is sometimes hard to find.

@BLPs, @roy130390

Have either of you even bothered to read the comments here or is it more comfortable to just rely on stereotypes? I don't seen tantrums or true rants. I see people responding to a decision they are disappointed in.

Your descriptions sound more like The Guardian btl comments. Contrary to the image in your minds, we are no more all alike than brits or Mexicans. How do you know what 'most' Americans do? Do you know most Americans? Didn't think so.

I'm an atheist, so there goes your assumptions right off the bat.

@ryanator008 ok, so we can't whine, we don't have any impact financially...(please don't assume I think ninty is gonna worry about my not buying from them.)

Unless the are completely oblivious (and they may well be), they will know the whys of it. Do I think it will change anything? I doubt it. I think they would rather shoot themselves in the foot rather then admit they screwed up big this time.

This doesn't ruin my life. It's a gaming system. But I can and will express my feelings of disappointment.

@ryanator008 you describe those voicing an opinion of displeasure as 'whining'. This has been a theme the past few days. It's become tiresome that, tho we may be in the minority we should just shut up.

I will vote with my wallet. Doesn't mean I need to pretend I am happy with this business decision ninty made.

@rjejr

I like kix with sliced banana, myself. :-) Hot chicks in bikinis eating anything wouldn't make me buy it, tbh.

Do you see many adverts of the 2ds? I haven't seen adverts for any ninty hardware in a long time. I did catch a Smash Bros ad once. They just don't seem to be on tv much anymore.

@rjejr

I do see what you are saying, I just think you are putting too much emphasis on the 2ds. I have seen adults playing them, but no kids.

Perhaps the marketing has missed the point.

As to the face plates: the market for them is not kids here in the states. It's teens and adult gamers who are gonna lust after them. The nerd type covers are good for kids, but I honestly don't see many older gamers using them.

The N3DS seems like a great compromise with its still smaller size yet bigger screen. I don't give a rat's about faceplates, but I would have loved better resolution.

My xl is limping along, but showing its age and the N3DS was going to be a day one buy. If it dies before the N3DS is released I will most likely get the N3DS XL...not because it's the one I want, but it's all ninty, in their infinite wisdom, will let me get. Then they can say: See! We knew the XL is all that would sell!

To all those whinging on about others whinging: you are satisfied so everyone else should be too, right? You are all mind readers and know we only want what we can't have.

You are coming across as arrogant as nintendo.

@noctowl

I have no idea what your response is about. I have bought nintendo products since the nes. I don't care for their corporate decisions lately. I don't have to 'get over' anything. I can, and will, vote with my wallet.

Pretty simple, isn't it?

Others may do as they want, but I won't be wasting space on this one. Unlike some, I no longer have much faith in ninty. Their coyness has become tiresome with product shortages, codes for demos sent thru emails, nonsense statements that are really just words of no substance strung together.

It's ok: the only relationship I've been in longer is with my husband, lol. Him I will keep. Nintendo? It may be time for an affair...

I had a 3ds and the screen was just too small for me so I got a 3ds xl. While I've enjoyed it a lot more, it is quite big and heavy for my hands. The resolution on some games also is lousy due to the pixelation that has to occur. The N3DS seemed perfect with a screen size in the middle! Day one purchase for me as my xl is showing signs of age.

NoA, in its wisdom, has decided they can't offer all their customers the same options. Their decisions are always outstanding...see recent Amiibo and controller adapter issues as proof. Of course, if they don't even mention the N3DS the yanks won't even notice they are missing out on anything.

Please understand...no. perhaps ninty needs to try some understanding for a change. Here in the states it feels as if their consumer research is as effective as their internet dreams.

@Farpun

My gaming is mostly hand held now. I know lots here love that you can play on the small screen, but that's what my 3ds xl is for. Do to circumstances, I am often stuck in Dr's waiting rooms and/or ERs...portability is a must. The Wii u won't give me that.

I don't think it's unreasonable to want a hand held game on my hand held. Obviously nintendo does.
