Hahaha, Oh major news networks, you're all so funny. You've always been spilling bullshit, and this sure won't be the first time you know what you're talking about.
Too bad. I wanted to experience that yearly thrill that is E3, and with Nintendo stepping out on this one, There probably won't be a large array of interesting content in there.
Oh well, at least DICE will be there, which means a possible Mirror's Edge 2 announcement. Can't wait!
There's one specific element that I hope they've added in the game, and is extremely essential to a Zelda game. Challenge.
Seriously, think about it. One of the primary motivation "generators" in Alttp was how challenging/difficult and sometimes dark the game was. Those of you who played it in the golden years of your childhood know what I'm talking about. Walking into your first dungeons and being bombarded with that creepy soundtrack playing in the background, having to backtrack immensely in order to keep moving through the dungeon, stepping inside the boss room and hearing that intense, yet threatening tune kick in.
It was all an adrenaline rush.
Bottom line, I want them to give us a fun game, but also challenging content.
Outstanding use of your knowledge and passion for games, good sir Now if only the final product was aesthetically pleasing, I'd probably purchase a copy.
One can never match the talent of Japanese voice actors. Period. I want the old Nintendo back I miss the GBA era so much. Endless days of searching the web for trailers of games that barely even got advertised, waiting months for new rumors on exclusive titles, forum communities frenzy, and good old Japanese trailers.
Japanese developers are doing just fine. I could never experience the same emotions and thrill that I've experienced while playing JRPGs on a western title. Same goes for other genres.
They're far superior than us in some aspects as a culture and society, and that shows. It shows in their technological progress, in their creativity, in their professionalism, and of course, in the game development scene.
The only gaming genre the west has that excels in most aspects is probably the online first-person shooter. Other than that, in Japan I trust.
It's not Nintendo's fault that third party titles aren't rushing in like there was no tomorrow. The developers are at fault. What Nintendo can assure us, however, is that they'll deliver on their part. More first party games from THEM. I buy Nintendo consoles to play their games, not third party games from other devs.
But in a way, I agree. Nintendo should go back to its roots. More old-school Zelda games, more Metroid games, more Mario and Kirby ones as well! Give us that urge and desire that we felt back in days of discovery, of adventuring through hyrule or fighting off space critters with enjoyment.
@Ren Completely agree, Ren. They should start focusing on game development. More specifically, new additions to their strongest franchises. I'd also like to see some of the classic GBC titles hitting the Virtual Console/EShop soon.
See, the thing is, that if Sony attempted to continue making titles for one of its iconic characters (like the big N has done for Mario) they would all fail. That's what Nintendo's flawless at. They can keep developing Mario games for the rest of eternity, and it'll never get old and/or boring.
This might just be me, but I have a feeling that this generation will have much better designed and good looking 'mon, in comparison to the last one. I mean, I just didn't like the pokemon in these last games. Some of them were alright, but the rest sort of felt like they had been "rushed". Anyways, I'm loving every bit of news so far
@skjia You've got it easy, brother. You probably live in the states, where video-games are far more widespread. In my country, gaming isn't as "famous" as it is overseas and in the U.K. Things are beginning to change, though, thank god
Back on topic: What an impressive collection she has! Wish I had all that :3
Oh god, yes! A thousand times yes! Alttp definitely set the standards for all the following titles in the series. It would be a shame not to have a remake or some sort of a sequel done. Also, Nintendo needs to release the Oracle games on EShop. It's been ages, now D:
Can't wait for that sweet new Zelda title. Would also love a Metroid one, but these news are good, nonetheless.
PS: Hey Nintendo, where are the Zelda Oracle games? D: Bring them, along with more GBC titles to the EShop, already! Also, it would be nice if you could somehow arrange the relelase of the Ambassador titles for the GBA as well.
I think they should keep the good old Zelda Formula and still keep bringing out new content. I'd also love to see another 2D Zelda Title. That would definitely take me back to the good old days of Alttp, OoS/OoA and TMC.
Right on the day of my birthday Most Nintendo portables have been released in November as well ^^ TLOZ:ALTTP released on the year of my birth, also. I guess this is some sort of hidden message to tell me to keep being a Nintendo fan till the end of time >
Happy birthday, Mr. Miyamoto! Thank you for all the ideas you helped shape, which subsequently became the greatest childhood experiences of our lives! With all our hearts, we thank you!
It's IGN. What did you all expect? This is the time where they initiate their butt-kissing/suck up over-promoting yearly season. Expect a 11/10 for Call Of Duty. It's all good, though, for as long as they get their hefty paychecks, everyone will come out happy.
Didn't expect anything more from a western commercial. Once again, they're aiming this at casual gamers, rather than the people who have always kept the industry alive. Us. In the eye-candy department, things looked slightly better but still very numb. I guess we'll have to leave advert production to the Japanese people, or even art in general. It all collapsed when the dubstep-ish tune began, though. As if it's not enough that corporate media is ruining music already, now they have to bring their mediocre content into the world of gaming? What a shame. What a shame indeed. I'll be waiting for the Japanese commercials, thank you very much.
