Jese_1 commented on More Details Emerge on the Launch of My Nintendo:

I'm really hoping that this does something about the country issues with the NNIDs. I live in South Africa but my NNID is locked to the UK eShop (eShop wasn't available in SA when the Wii U launched), and I really don't want to have to make a new ID and lose all of the content I've bought and the save game data I have.

One can only hope...

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 3rd December (Europe):

Definitely getting Power Paintbrush, very interested in Zack & Wiki, and absolutely getting Xenoblade Chronicles from today's sale.

All in all, a great week for gaming!

Jese_1 commented on Editorial: Linkle May be a Clunky Introduction...:

I really don't like the idea of Linkle simply being a gendered swapped Link. If she (or characters like her) were to be included in future games, flesh them out and make them characters in their own right. From the trailer Linkle looks absolutely awesome, and I'd much rather see her in a game with her own story (maybe as Link's sister, who knows).

Jese_1 commented on Pokémon Brawler Pokkén Tournament Coming To ...:

@KryptoKrunch half the problem seems to be that because the Wii U hasn't done particularly well in sales everyone's suddenly a market expert on how to "save" the console (or at least it's reputation).

For some reason the fact that it hasn't sold well diminishes some people's ability to just enjoy the games that are on it, and I really don't understand why that is.

Jese_1 commented on Pokémon Brawler Pokkén Tournament Coming To ...:

People after E3: OMG Nintendo, where are the Wii U games? What's wrong with you? Don't you want the console to sell?

announces Pokken Tournament for Wii U

People: OMG Nintendo, why are you putting this on Wii U? What's wrong with you? Don't you want the NX to be a success?

Nintendo fans are fast becoming the most irritatingly opinionated gamers out there.

Jese_1 commented on Reggie Fils-Aime Tackles Metroid Prime: Federa...:

@Mona-Reggie Out of complete curiosity I want to see this F-Zero Wii Fit crossover...

@jjmesa16 @edgedino I have EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings both sitting on my Wii U, but haven't played either of them yet so I'm neither here nor there about a new one. Whilst there are a lot of games that I'd love to see either get a remake (Luigi's Mansion) or a sequel (Pikmin 4), I really don't see the point in getting as upset as some people have over this year's E3. Could it have been better? Of course it could have. Has Nintendo's bad E3 thrown the Earth out of its orbit or caused all the women to become barren? No, so it's really not a crisis.

Jese_1 commented on Reggie Fils-Aime Tackles Metroid Prime: Federa...:

They know people want a proper Metroid game...
They know people want Super Mario Galaxy 3...
They know people want a new F-Zero game...
They know people want a new EarthBound game...

This leaves us with one of two options. One: Either they know what we want and are being deliberately difficult because reasons, OR two: the NX is going to get one helluva launch lineup...

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 21st May (Europe):

Nintendo's game page for Epic Yarn ( lists the GamePad as a compatible controller. I'm not sure how since parts of the game require pointer input from the Wii Remote, but if it does work I may just double dip since I hate switching into Wii mode for my Wii discs.

Jese_1 commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Turns to Classics, DLC...:

People seem to have had very high expectations for this Direct. I went in wanting to know when N64 games would be released on the VC, and a release date for Woolly World. In that way, this Direct was fantastic and everything else was just a nice bonus.

Jese_1 commented on Talking Point: Nintendo's DeNA Plans and Ideas...:

I think the main thing that all of the nay-sayers are missing is that this venture isn't aimed at you, the core audience. I'm a Nintendo gamer and, as such, own a 3DS and a Wii U because I enjoy the games that they release on these systems. The games that will be made for smartphones are for people who probably weren't going to buy the consoles anyway, so if Nintendo can make money off of them and we still get the games we want for our systems, then how are we losing out or suffering because of this?

Jese_1 commented on Feature: What We Want to See in the November N...:

Nintendo 64 VC support.
N64 VC support.
N-I-N-T-E-N-D-O 6-4 support.

Can't think of any other way to get that point across. As a side note, if Dr Toad: Mushroom Trauma Centre ever became a thing, I would make it my personal mission to ensure it was the biggest game of the year

Jese_1 commented on The Trending #WiiUDroughtAid Shows That, Actua...:

I can only conclude that people want to buy games for the sake of buying them. I have combined 12 Wii and Wii U games that I need to finish, and an eShop wishlist of VC titles as long as my arm.

The only game I was really looking forward to was Captain Toad, and while it would have been great to play it while I was on leave, I still have plenty to keep me going until January.

Jese_1 commented on Reaction: Nintendo's Drop in Momentum Is A Big...:

Content is everything. The only game I've bought for the 3DS this year is Kirby Triple Deluxe, unlike last year where I shelled out for tons of games because the release schedule was amazing. XY have made me rethink getting ORAS, since I wasn't blown away by it (still good, but not entirely amazing)

Similarly with the Wii U, I've bought Donkey Kong and Mario Kart, and the next one I was looking forward to was Captain Toad, but now that's been pushed back.

At least 2015 is looking decent for the Wii U, but as far as the 3DS is concerned I don't see anything on the horizon that really excites me, which is a pity because I got a lot of fun out of it last year.

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 31st July (Europe):

It's great that the Wii U VC is getting so much love, but the state of the 3DS VC is a bit sad (I don't really like Mega Man, so the promise of all his Game Boy games isn't doing anything for me).

Come now Nintendo, you have a great catalogue of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games - let's put them to some use!

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 3rd April (Europe):

Mario & Luigi will go onto my wish list - saving my pennies for Kirby next week. Definitely going to be supporting the GBA VC, but have to take it one game at a time.

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo of Europe Confirms Upcoming Game Boy ...:

Will all the complainers just go over to a corner for a while and stay there while the rest of us do our happy dance? Thanks!

What I would love, and throw stupid amounts of money at, is if Nintendo could make essentially a mini Game Pad in the shape of a Game Boy Advance for these games. That would be awesome!

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 27th March (Europe):

This is a good week! Definitely getting Super Mario Kart. Really want to get Adventure Island II as well, but would rather have it on my Wii U than on my 3DS, so will hold out for that one.

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 6th March (Europe):

I remember a while ago Capcom said that they weren't sure when the Game Boy Mega Man games would come out because Nintendo has such a packed VC release schedule.

Renegade. On Wii U. That's it. And it's not like the retail / download releases are so mind blowing that it justifies a VC-less week on the 3DS.

I want to give you my money Nintendo, but you really aren't making it easy.

Jese_1 commented on The Year of Luigi Officially Ends on 18th March:

YEAR OF KIRBY!!!!!!!!!!

My Kirby obsession aside, the Year of Luigi has been fun, and Luigi's Mansion 2 is one of the best games I've played on any console. Here's hoping it doesn't take them another decade to make part 3 - the GamePad would make an amazing vacuum cleaner Nintendo!

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 6th February (Europe):

Awesome. So that's 3 weeks now that the 3DS VC hasn't received an update. I'm getting very bored of this.

Will definitely get Dr Mario at some point, but it doesn't exactly make me jump up and scream in excitement.

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Download: 6th February (Europe):

Nintendo, you talk a good talk, but given the recent run of downloads, you haven't been walking the walk. You announce N64, GBA and DS games for the Wii U VC, and then you give us NES Open Golf. And the 3DS VC gets nothing for two weeks in a row. Really? This is why you aren't getting any of my money, and I'm actually quite a dedicated fan.

Jese_1 commented on Nintendo Still Working On Bringing Game Boy Ad...:

Like with the GBA/N64/Game Cube/DS virtual console on the Wii U, I won't get excited until (if) we get firm release dates. I'm a patient man, but I'm getting bored of all these amazing things being announced and then not having them actually be released.

Jese_1 commented on Satoru Iwata Confirms That DS Games Are Coming...:

Whilst I do like this idea and would certainly make use of it, what we want to know now is WHEN? WHEN are we getting DS, GBA and N64 games on the VC? It's counter productive to announce these things and get people excited and then we have to wait over a year without seeing any of it. Even if it won't launch for another 6 months, just say so so people don't get disappointed every week.

Jese_1 commented on Mario And Zelda On Mobile Could Bring New Play...:

@sonicfan1373 To an extent I completely agree with you: there's a reason I game on consoles and not on tablets and phones. The thing is that there's no guarantee that anyone who buys any of these on a phone or tablet would have bought a Wii U/3DS to try out the consoles anyway, so I'm not sure that there would be any tremendous loss should someone not like the game.

Trust me, I'm not in favour of Nintendo going third party or of them dumbing down their games for phones and tablets, but in light of recent events I think that it might be a smart move to place selected old games (possibly the more arcade oriented games of the day, like Clu Clu Land or something) up for sale to an enormous market to help boost their financial situation. If done correctly it wouldn't amount to anything more than the weekly download update that we get, and is one way of broadening their horizons without tremendously dumbing down their new games for a smaller platform (a la Sega). But hey, it's just a thought.

Jese_1 commented on Mario And Zelda On Mobile Could Bring New Play...:

Maybe the thing to do would be to take a less "dangerous" approach: release games from the VC catalogue onto phones and tablets. They could charge the same as they do on the Wii U/3DS VC, so nobody who owns the console versions is being cheated, it could bring in a decent amount of money that would help cover the costs of developing for the 3DS and Wii U, and in the mean time continue to make dedicated new games that are only available on the 3DS and Wii U.
