jdarrell commented on The Wonderful 101 Saving Wallets on Wii U eShop:

When I tried it, it seemed like a game I wouldn't want to play more than one mission at a time, which would make the digital version much more convenient. I'd rarely spend more than $20 on a digital game though.

Re: Flop
VR headsets are optional add-ons, what one person calls a flop can still be a success. Especially for Sony who cares more about being competitive than selling VR headsets. And I doubt there's anything stopping a USB PC headset from being able to support Wii U.

Toki Tori 2+ was an unlockable game in Humble Bundle 10, unlockable games receive a significantly lower amount of the revenue. I'd imagine the only reason to make a game unlockable or in other bundles would be to hope for good sales following the publicity.

I wish the graphics didn't look like an unoriginal clone to me (why use pipes in a 2D game that has a flat dirt ground with a strip of green across the top, a light sky background with bushes, and a coin sounding effect). If you're using green pipes, it's because you remember them from the Nintendo series.

Edit: It's interesting though that games with "bird" at the end of the title have become popular.

Just saying the reason you need to wait isn't because devs are lazy. Mystara/Zen Pinball/etc also seem to have delays/patches to work on online Wii U features. Hopefully they're only unexpected launch window problems and will become a thing of the past. Personally waiting isn't a big deal to me though.

jdarrell commented on Review: The Cave (Wii U eShop):

An 8 is "if you like the genre this is a sound buy for you." I think the review gives a good opinion about why --for example a sequel-- could be a better game for fans of the genre.

Nice Interview!

"We’re really happy with how the downloadable version is doing and are committed to releasing more 3DS and Wii U games both digitally and at retail day and date."
Question sidestepped! (in comparison to physical sales) ;)

jdarrell commented on Could The Wii U GamePad Suffer From Latency?:

http://www.edge-online.com/features/how-hdtv-killed-rhythm-action

"Nintendo recognises this, and has made a point of highlighting the “close to zero” latency of the Wii U GamePad, where the image is processed so quickly that it generally outperforms the main display – not that this is necessarily a good thing, as lag between first and second screen is a problem in and of itself, which I’m sure will give some developers headaches."

I'll wait before getting worried.
