Last time I checked in (sometime last week after months!) I had a weed- picking frenzy induced my one of my residents. I really love this game, sadly school prevents me from giving it the time I would like. Thankfully I only have two more days till break :D!!

Honestly I don't care about the graphical advance this generation offers, I'm more looking forward to how Kinect evolves and becomes an integral part of the Microsoft entertainment brand. Easily the most exciting thing next-gen has to offer for me.

Icefreak45 commented on Fossil Fighters Roaring Onto 3DS Next Year:

Wow, um, I'm pleasantly surprised :D! I really enjoyed the first one, didnt pick up the second one, but if this one is good I'll pick it up. Honestly I thought Nintendo would leave this series behind once it transitioned to the 3ds. (I'm really happy about this XD.)

Huh, I'll be honest this was not on my radar at all. I LOVED the one for the GBA but never really played at after that (and don't particularly care for the show going on now). Now though, it seems like it could be a bit of fun, looking forward to the review

Icefreak45 commented on Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me:

I personally am not picking up the game, I couldn't legally buy it if I wanted to anyways XD, but that doesn't mean I think the game is bad or that the people who made it shouldn't get credit for what they have created. They have created a HUGE open world experience for people to play in. Yes the story line, strip clubs, and violence are extreme and will leave a bad taste in some people's mouth. I get it. However, the point is not for you to relish and enjoy these experiences. The game is, if you do a little research, a critic on the American experience and obviously it does a good job at it. Do I want it? No, but don't put down the people who worked tirelessly to develop it and give it to the masses who do want to play it.
All that aside LoZ: Wind Waker does indeed look amazing :3

Icefreak45 commented on Wii U Deluxe Model Gets Official $50 Price Cut...:

Very smart move Nintendo. This makes picking up a Wii U this Christmas a no brainer anymore and I'm sure that will apply to plenty of people as well come the holiday season. Hopefully this is the start of something great for the Wii U and people can stop bashing it.

Icefreak45 commented on Soapbox: When It Comes To Software Support, Th...:

Really didn't like this soapbox. I feel like this was just bashing Microsoft and Sony for what they do to boost up Nintendo. Yes a lot of games nowadays are full of blood and gore, shooters with pretty graphics but that's not all. Ni No Kuni on the PS3 looked like an amazing JRPG, but did I play it? No because it was a Sony exclusive. Nintendo doesn't offer this experience so you can't say they're the only ones who can create something magical.

Going to third-party tittles I had a blast with a bunch of third party games that did NOT come to Wii. Mass Effect, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Borderlands, dishonored, Bioshock, etc. Yes all of these are gory but not for the sake of being gory, Bioshock tells an amazing story and is one of the greatest games of this generation. Third party tittles are highly important and are required for consoles.

You can't really say nothing innovative is coming from next-gen consoles seeing as they're not even out yet and are being slowly unveiled. Sony has confirmed already 30 exclusives coming to PS4 in it's first year and 12 of them being new IPs. So add in third party support and there's no foreseeable drought as severe as the Wii U has suffered.

Last point: "Infamous: Second Son looks pretty, but was the world really crying out for a sequel?" Was anyone asking for a DK sequel? Or that Mario 3D World? No doubt these will be fun experiences but nothing new.
I'm a huge Nintendo supporter and will be picking up a Wii U next year and opting for a PS4 this Christmas, please don't knock others just to make Nintendo seem in a better place than it is and lets all just enjoy playing games ^^.

I'm expecting the Wii U to really take off once Mario Kart comes around, after that it's up to Nintendo to continue to bring experiences that will steady sales to be decent and not terrible in the wake of new consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

Glad to see Vita picking up some attention over in Japan. Give the US a price cut and the games as well and I'll pick one up.
Nintendo just needs to put out games, period. Apparently there's more unannounced games so maybe that will be the sales booster they need?

Icefreak45 commented on Pachter: Nintendo Has Lost Its "Mojo":

He's not saying anything wrong here, almost all he says is pretty much true. Nintendo is definitely not at the heights it just a couple years ago and this generation a box that only plays Nintendo games isn't going to cut it. With the PS4 being only $50 higher that hurts the Wii U even more. Do I think Nintendo has lost it's mojo? Not exactly, Nintendo still makes some of the most fun games to play. What Nintendo needs to do is simple, better marketing, price cut and more games (which are on the way). At this point in time, no, I don't really see the reason to own a Wii U, next year though I see myself purchasing one for sure!
