@JaxonH
Agreed. Besides my greatly malnourished RPG feedings from Nintendo (Child of Light, I cannot wait!), I think the spread of genres on the U is appropriate thus far. The popularity of these sparing 2D games creates the perception that that's all Nintendo can and wants to do. It's a shame, but then again, I don't play videogames to feel accepted by my peers ( 90% of my gaming friends wouldn't be caught dead buying Nintendo, especially the U); I play what I want and say buck the rest! There are a ton of games slated for 2014 that I am very excited about (albeit digital, for the doom-gloomers), and if E3 can be the 2015 preview we all are hoping for, then I will be happy for years to come. And if not, well, at least I got my Smash!

@JaxonH
Amen, brotha! We all want the U to work and succeed, but people have no patience, no faith these days. Maybe I'm not hardcore enough, but 10 or so (instant) classics a year, between retail and download, is enough for me...and yes, even now, the U is close to that mark. I agree with some that they're ignoring certain critical franchises (sigh F-Zero...) while crazily favoring others (2D Mario), but mad people complained about Other M (which I enjoyed, for one), the exact style of game many were calling for when OG Prime was announced! Execution aside, 'tis a balancing act, indeed, @Zombie_Barioth.

Haha, you fools! This is exactly my point (I don't like writing 'sarcasm' after my statements, though it does save a lot of confusion); any activity can be argued worthwhile; conversely, nothing matters and everything is a waste...
Did you even see the part where I agreed with @KeiththeGeek's first post? Did you read his post? I don't judge anyone's passions as a waste of time, however, only about 10% of what we do daily is actually "meaningful." The perception of worth for the rest of our activities is grossly judged by those who come in contact with it. I do things all the time that are "a waste of time" (this reply, for instance), but just as I can admit that, so too can I argue that your BF Mikey's paintings are...

Thank you!!! Everything not biologically fundamental to basic human survival is a waste of time...seriously. Saying otherwise makes you mad ignit.
Also, here's a vote for Brawl > Melee (I like being able to air dodge multiple times...among other things).
Finally, though I don't prefer it over the Cube controllers ('Bird, that is) like Caryslan, the Wii Classic Controller and Pro version are fine controllers to throw down with. And durable! The Wii U Pro? We shall see...

@Neightrix
Yes to Ganon! But this time, I will seriously eat my own shi...hat if he doesn't have his OWN moveset!! I'm sick of this Capt. Falcon hand-me-down BS, as it cheapens both of these fine gents! It got a little better in Brawl, but PLEASE Nintendo; this is and has been my only real complaint of Smash since Melee! Ganny is one of the most important villains in Nintendo lore, and in light of the de-transforming characters and custom set moves, there is no &^$**#@ reason why he shouldn't have his own moves. I am all for keeping them 'similar' (the B-forward choke move is just priceless...), but the man has a sword...he HAS A SWORD!!

Everyone calm down! To all the detractors, have you ever heard of XBone or P4!! Quit acting like you're concerned with Nintendo's profits and long-term business, lamenting that you are finally "done with Nintendo" or that you've "been tricked for the last time!" There are other options! But you knew that...just like I know if you're on this website, if you watched the Direct (or are even aware they exist), you're buying one or both of these games; period! So hate on me now (later release, boo!), praise me later (GOY 2014, yay!). And these are the same die-hards that honestly believe Nintendo owes them something; babies! I got a wacky idea, play one of the thousand games in your collection a second time if May-December looks so bleak, or buy another console if Nintendo is too stupid, or read a book (to name three things of one billion). @JaxonH works for Nintendo?!? That has to be it; no one in their right mind would astutely defend Nintendo and all the wrong moves they've done since N64 (again, these are people who own/have/will buy Nintendo merch!), right? RIGHT?
As many have quoted, "be happy that the game is coming out this year!" I don't need sales numbers, or business models, or Nintendo's history of delay (Brawl was pretty brutal, in all honesty) to know this game's gonna rule! Satisfaction comes from within. All the gloom dooming won't derail this hype train. If this really is Nintendo's last home console (which it ain't), then I'll be satisfied that I got the very best version of Smash...in HD. Sure, I won't be one of the millions of people who will or can say: "see, before Smash came out, I was on that one forum expounding on all the Box of Hammers moves Nintendo did, and I was right! If only they would've listened to me, look I'm #147, #242, #261, #267, #272, #278, #286, #308, #317, or #etc.; see, there I am! Why didn't they read my comments, they'd still be making consoles?!" But I'll probably live longer...
Sincerely,

Oh, Brooks83, you must be poorer than ol' Redcorn if you're comin' with that weakness! To reiterate, no one's making you re-buy these games a million times and I promise you Nintendo is not listening to your helpful hints on how to ship units. Enjoy what's there or find a new hobby to engage in (and later critique).
Good to see you're keeping up with Nintendo sites though, they love fence-sitting fans like you who "have given Nintendo enough money" (and therefore should be revered as more important). You have a 100+ VC games and you're still complaining? Go play, you'll live longer!

It's going to be Pac Man (sigh), but I'd reach a new level of cream if they included any of the following: Heihachi, Jin, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, or my personal "please, God," Yoshimitsu.
Big up to Finntendo and Nintenjoe64, they know what a seasoned fighting vet Yoshimitsu (this would be his 4th (?) different fighting franchise) is...c'mon, Nintendo, return the Soul Cal II Link 'favor' with my man 'mitsu!

@ #4, #14, #45: He was tricked into cultivating mass because the gang said that they were all close to the tipping points, but needed real-life avatars to take over their regular lives whilst they inch closer to their respected "points." Well, by the time poor Mac had achieved (his idea of) his tipping point (his body-building avatar was part of the problem), the gang had moved on to a scheme, like, three plans from that, leaving Mac a fat, oafish, crybaby with candy in his pants. And that's what Sunny Sakurai was eliciting in his March 10 pic (huge fan!).

Hortencio commented on Talking Point: The Watch_Dogs Wii U Delay Demo...:

Who are these "tricked" Wii U owners who bought the console on or around launch, when they were skeptical on the system in the first place? That's a chop!
I love Nintendo and will only buy their consoles, but at this same point in the Wii's lifespan, I was grasping for straws! Besides Brawl, one of the only reasons I bought the Wii (and that was 2+ years in...) was because of the Virtual Console. By comparison, I already own eight for the U (5 cased including New Luigi & 3 downloaded) and got it this Christmas! I have faith that Nintendo will turn up the heat in the next year or two...and if they don't, guess what? I'll just buy their next system that truly returns them to the 'flash-and-brawn' formula that MS and Sony are currently using, should the "Doom and Gloom" of the U continue to prosper. By then, like the last two predecessors, I will have a 20+ game library that I'm proud of and will enjoy many times through for years to come.
#146 had some great points, but I believe #165 said it best: "I am looking forward to the future of Wii U because I play video games."

Damn, Mozie, way to throw it down (though I'd respectfully disagree with a few titles you listed as providing "good jrpg times")! Your argument is the exact reason why any system (in my personal example to friends, the Wii) can provide a gamer with enough entertainment and content so long as they're willing to look for it.

Oh YEAH, gettin' good now!!
SSB4; X; MK8; DKC: Trop Freeze; Watch Dogs (please don't forsake me...or should I say U!); Shovel Knight; Teslagrad; Child of Light, Another Castle, Pier Solar HD + the pending VC releases – all that, plus maybe Bayonetta 2, The Girl and the Robot, Tengami, and Two Brothers (not to mention some of the aforementioned '13 ports that have become mad affordable these days...). And to all those ‘plainers crying about lack of titles, the diversity and/or originality within 2014’s lineup, here’s a suggestion: Do something else!?! There are literally millions of other things to do with your days besides play videogames or complain about them on the internet; give it a rest, you’ll live longer! In the words of many a redneck: "if you don't like it, then you can git out!"

The first was epic (beautiful blend of exploration, difficulty, and accessibility), but like #4 said, the cryptic clues and sometimes aimless searching got me off track and I ultimately never finished it. It is a great game that deserves a sequel, so if this gets kickstarted (with a +$10 from this guy), I will purchase again!

December 6th: The day one of my many Smash Bros. dreams died (for the next five, six years at least), as Skull Kid get the diss-of-a-debut as an Assist and not Playable??!?! I swear if Ganny doesn't get his own moveset (I will accept Luigi-like clone as long as he has, I don't know, ONE sword move!), I will be very angry with the franchise...

Quackshot! Darkwing Duck (i.e. MegaMan 5) NES would be pretty epic as well.
Reggie, please: Lufia & the, Body Harvest, TMNT 2: The Arcade Game, Bomberman 64, Star Fox 2, and always, Earthbound.
Lastly: Everyone is aware that MegaMan and MegaMan X Anniversary Collections exist, correct?!

Truly great news, waited 3 good months for this update! Without The Last Story or Xenoblade, my sanity receives a much needed boost with this classic. Considering these recent Wii RPG disappointments, I was kind of expecting NoA to tell me how flattered they were by my enthusiasm and excitement but, no, FFIII and Lufia II would not be released to the NA Virtual Console... If it weren't for damn Smash Bros., Nintendo, I'd totally break up with you!

Also, who wants to bet there will be exclusive characters for both the 3DS and Wii U that can ONLY be unlocked (on the other) in you have both editions and sync them together? Damn it, looks like I'll have to get a 3DS after all, curse my love for this ONE game!!!

Yeah, this anniversary collection sucked, price, booklet, any-other-argument aside. Now, c'mon Nintendo, teach us all a lesson for dissing you by releasing a truly worthy, collector's edition of The Legend of Zelda (LoZ, LoZ II, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening). I'd pay $50 for that, but the booklet better be good...

Classic Controller Pro is one of the best, standard controllers ever (Thanks PS2)! Could care less about this announcement; not to mention it sounds like another Game & Watch DS-type thing that is impossible to get, unless you want to spend close to $1000 US just to earn enough points, and you better register that shiz before July, or else... expunge!

6 is perfect for this game, everyone calm down/shut up. I'm a huge fan of Bomberman, but definitely not this one! I like the multi-player aspect of Bombermans as much as the next guy, but the 1-player is always what separates these editions apart, for me. This game's solo campaign, compared to B64 and/or B64: Second Attack, sucks! I can only hope they release one of the two aforementioned games, but like Earthbound, I'll die of suffocation before that happens. 6, just above average, works, and, back in the day, I unlocked all the secret levels... so I know what I'm talking about!

Thanks for the reply, I'm trying to map out which games to purchase to fill the remaining Wii memory with before I go SD, and this game came out of nowhere! Wonder why they decided to go sequel (After Years...) with IV rather than this one, guess the story was better suited and/or more open-ended?

@BrickRockwell
Totally an underrated feature of Nintendo's download service and a strong reason I bought a Wii too (that, and Brawl). Sure, we don't/won't get games likes Earthbound or Bomberman 64, beg as we might, but at least we don't have any wack loopholes to jump through like the 360 and/or P3 (ads, WTF!!?!) post-purchase. We also get comparable original titles too, perhaps not as gory or adult, but fun nonetheless (a concept lost on many owners of those systems)... Portista, you are a true fool!
