Yes! My old 3ds xl charging cradle didn't work, so I can set up my charging station (Wife's 3DS, Wii U gamepad, My new 3DS XL). We have a blockade to keep cat away from wires. There is a reason it is called a CATastrophe!

VGchartz has MH4U selling 2.46 million in Japan. So this means they have shipped 0.5 million to Europe and America. Given the recent sales success of MH4U in England (#4 debut), this bodes very well for the series finding an audience. It really helps the popularity and visibility to be launching alongside New 3DS in those regions. Bravo Monster Hunter for a high quality game and Nintendo for effective (gasp!) advertising!

I am really looking forward to Kirby and Rainbow curse for assymetric local multiplayer with my Wife. I love when gamepad is used cleverly like in Nintendoland.

I am also looking forward to Splatoon for new multiplayer experience. I hope it has a good local multiplayer mode.

I have really been enjoying collecting the amiibos to decorate my apartment. The designs are awesome!

I have also been using them a lot in Smash Bros. I have 2 Wii U's (one for home with my Wife, and one for my afterschool video game club that I run for my 7th/8th grade students). Smash bros is naturally a big hit for the club, and I can do grading while the kids play on projector. I have been enjoying training up amiibos and bringing them into the club as "guest fighters" for kids to fight. At level 50 with specialized equipment, they can be absolutely brutal. The kids love the challenge, and I enjoy training up the amiibos (have 8 amiibos fight each other on automatic, and then collect the coins, experience and goodies - all while getting work done at my computer - win!) and matching stats/skills to the personality of the characters (i.e, Luigi is high speed and defense, and heals automatically).

HAL9000 commented on Review: Chariot (Wii U eShop):

Playing the game in Coop with my Wife has been a wonderful experience. Many exclamations and eureka moments and "hang on as I pull you up" moments of teamwork.

HAL9000 commented on Feature: A Year in Development - RCMADIAX:

I like his games. It fills a niche for budget titles and I really appreciate that he interacts with forums and on miiverse. The feedback and interest in his costumers promotes satisfaction and a connection with the developer. I am really looking forward to robomouse.

I am enjoying collecting the Amiibo and it is fun to customize their speed/defense/attack. I got a Wii Fit Trainer (my wife and I lost 30 pounds over past year with diet and exercise, so the figure had a personal story to us... plus the figure is rare). I am making her into a speedy fighter. I will be getting some more Amiibo for Christmas presents (but I want to be surprised by which ones my Wife picked so I gave her 5-6 to choose from).

I will probably buy a Little Mac/Pit from next wave as they seem rare.

My afterschool video game club is really enjoying Hyrule warriors. It is a great co-op game!

I am enjoying playing hyrule warriors at home with my wife. It really helps having a co-op player for the missions because they send you all over the map with objectives. We do a rotation (I choose, you choose) for games, so this is often on my choose lists.

The DLC is awesome. She loves using Epona, and I am enjoying the dark side campaign.

HAL9000 commented on Review: SteamWorld Dig (Wii U eShop):

Day one purchase! I have it for 3DS, but I never got around to playing it a lot because I play on my Wii U more. Looking forward to playing in HD on TV screen.

HAL9000 commented on Wii U Sales Continue to Rise with the Release ...:

I am getting 2 copies. One for my home Wii U and one for my school Wii U to play at videogame club for my students (local multiplayer for the win).

I am very excited for this game and it will have good legs with Zelda branding. I am confident they will get to a million worldwide.

Nice to see a hardware bump for Wii U.

HAL9000 commented on Watch Dogs Will be the Only "Mature" Ubisoft G...:

Zombi U was a great game and sold 700k copies. How is that NOT profitable?!

Rayman Legends should have been an exclusive as PROMISED. It sold the best on Wii U (only being beaten by PS3 which has a massive install base).

Nintendo gamers want parity (not gimped ports) - then we will open our wallets.

I have cancelled my Watch Dogs pre-order (it wasn't that good of a game anyway from the reviews and it is coming way too late for me to care) and will spend the money on indie games.

Nice to see a developer participating in Nintendo forum discussions! I appreciate your interaction with users on Miiverse.

My reactions:
(1) Miiverse is a great tool for people to get real life user reviews and opinions on titles they are interested in buying. The good games (Child of Light, Shovel Knight) are getting great sales because they are popular on Miiverse and got good word of mouth. Shovel Knight is #15 on all time Wii U download software!

(2) Developers (like Fuzzy Wuzzy games, Yacht club, RCMADIAX) who participate in Miiverse have developed a loyalty that earns trust from Miiverse users.
I know personally (from RCMADIAX ) that I liked Block Drop U, but I was not interested in the new poker game that he made (not my genre). However, I will be checking out his Robomouse game.

(3) Nintendo needs Indie developers to fill in the release gaps left by money grubbing 3rd parties that are busy raking out profits on overpriced DLC. They have lowered the entry barriers and made the Wii U a viable indie marketplace. You are going to get good quality with bad quality - but this allows Nintendo platforms to get games that would otherwise only be on smartphones. The good stuff will rise to the top (Miiverse is awesome for user reviews) by consumers and purchases.

4- I would recommend Nintendo tweek the user reviews part of eshop to have more details if people are worried about quality control.

Speaking of quality control, many 3rd party games can crash the wii u as well (splinter cell blacklist online for example), so it is unfair to pick out just indies in quality control.

This game is going to be AMAZING in coop mode. I can already envision my wife and I working together to overcome challenges and communicating ship systems for my home Wii U system.

I can also envision the absolute chaos that will ensue when my students play this game that requires cooperation and communication in my afterschool wii U club!! I foresee many destroyed ships and trolling of each other! :)

I love Nintendo for their focus on family friendly fun and cooperative multiplayer. I play with my wife at home and we love the cooperative nature of Mario 3d world, mario kart, donkey kong and other nintendo franchises. I am a teacher and run an afterschool video game/lego robotics club, and Nintendo makes games that are fun and appropriate for children/teens (Hyrule Warriors, Splatoon, Yoshi Wooly World, Mario Maker, Smash Bros, Capt Toad, Star Fox). The XBOX conferences had no games that I remember that I could show in a classroom and keep my job due to excessive violence, and PS conference was a bit better (props to Little Big Planet), but they had a lot of focus on shooters as well.

HAL9000 commented on Fi Confirmed For Hyrule Warriors Along With Sk...:

I am excited about the inclusion of more female characters because I play coop with my wife and she is more likely to want to play if there are female avatars. I am also cheering on Nintendo because the Sony/MS conferences were so testosterone laced with males carrying guns shooting people and that was all they showed. I think one site mentioned that Nintendo had more female characters in 1 game (Hyrule Warriors) than both MS/Sony conference combined.

HAL9000 commented on Review: Armillo (Wii U eShop):

Thanks for explaining the rationale behind the camera and buttons. I like the camera in the game and only have to adjust it occasionally when I am peaking around in levels, so it feels good to me. It is nice to see developers interacting with fans.

Now for the real question, where can I get an Armillo plush that I see in your developer videos? So cute.

HAL9000 commented on Review: Armillo (Wii U eShop):

Thank you for bringing such a fun game to Wii U. I love the sound, level and character design. It "feels" like a sonic game with boosts and dash mechanics but it has great controls. I am enjoying the game a lot so far.

HAL9000 commented on Review: Shovel Knight (Wii U eShop):

I am so excited to SHOVEL SOME JUSTICE! I will buy it first on Wii U, and by end of the day I predict I will have downloaded it to my wife and my 3DS as well if it as good as everyone is saying :)

This game blew me away at this years E3, I was hooting during the reveal when the squid popped out of the ink. Bravo Nintendo for making a family friendly shooter where you can contribute to team by spraying the environment and not just sniping each other.

"The animations even have the stop-motion feel of claymation classics, all while the game itself runs at what looked to us like a silky-smooth 60 frames-per-second, using impressively fluid animation to emulate the look of substantially less fluid animation. It’s brilliant, and absolutely gorgeous in motion"
I love how they are using HD graphics to make it look intentionally choppy. Awesome art style using clay.

I LOVED kirby canvas curse on DS and this will be perfect for Wii U gamepad.

Nintendo does HD graphics correctly - yarn, clay, ink!

Splatoon is amazing and a breath of fresh air. The entire xbox one presentation was all bro-shooters because all you do is kill other people and be aggressive in a brown environment. For the record, I am not against mature themed games, but it was ALL that they showed.
I play co-op games with my wife at home, or have my afterschool 7th/8th grade kids play on school Wii U. Nintendo actually is addressing a game that I can play with my family, kids and students.
The entire idea of splatoon is painting the environment, not shooting each other. I can play the entire match painting the floor if I am not good at sniping and still contribute to the team.
Bravo! Take my money!
