I wonder if Game Stop in the US will allow the 24 hour grace period towards trade-ins? If by chance they did, I know I would be buying a XL asap.

Not interested. 40$ to download is just too high for me to consider it. The only game I wouldn't mind downloading would be Animal Crossing, mainly for convenience. But otherwise, I'm boycotting digital downloads until Nintendo realizes they need to change their strategy with it.

Guhin13 commented on Hardware Review: Nintendo 3DS XL:

Ugh... my mind keeps jumping between whether I should switch to the XL or get a new original 3DS model. With my L-button completely dead and my warranty expired, I would like to just get a new 3DS, and although I can see all the pros of getting an XL, the original model still looks much better in my opinion. Especially since I could get it in that sweet shade of purple now.

@akabenjy
THIS. I would buy this so fast it's not even funny. Majora's Mask is still my all-time favorite Zelda title, and out of all the XL pictures I've seen recently, this limited edition mock-up looks better than the standard models. I really wish this were real.

More on topic, I'm probably going to be getting the black model sometime around when it comes out. My biggest gripe about the XL is the color choices, honestly. I think the red and blue systems coming out in NA look goofy, more like a toy than what most of the sleek colors of the original 3DS did.

Picked this up the other day. Though not as impressive as I'd hoped, it's still a decent little puzzle game. I do think it should be a little cheaper though.

Now this would decide for me whether I want to get an XL or not. If they released this Cerulean Blue 3DS in the states, I would rather get that than an XL. That blue is just amazing. Why must it be for Taiwan and Hong Kong only?!

@themariobloggie

See, and that must've been my problem. I used to take it everywhere in my pocket on the off-chance I'd catch some street-pass tags, but seeing as that doesn't happen much for me anyway, I suppose I'll just stop. Part of me thought that I should get some sort of pouch to carry it in, but I suppose that poses the same problems as putting it in my pocket, eh?

I really think I'm gonna upgrade to the XL now. I'll be sad to see my awesome Aqua 3DS go, but I'd rather get a new system with at least some minor upgrades than just a new original 3DS, no matter how appealing that Purple one is. :P

When it was announced, I kinda scoffed at this. I love the design of the original 3DS, and would never really want to trade mine unless I had good reason.

Unfortunately... My L button has stopped functioning lately. I've tried the good ol' "blow into the button" trick, and while that used to work, it only works for about 5 minutes if I'm lucky, and I checked my warranty status online to see about sending it to nintendo, only to find my warranty just ran out and they would charge me 55 bucks to repair it. A little too pricey for me. Now I'm considering a 3DS XL only because the larger screens sound nice, the stylus has been repositioned to the side, where I loved it on the DSi, and my L button would work again. The only real downside I see to trading in is that I think the XL is far more hideous in design than the original.

I was curious if a place like Gamestop would let me transfer my stuff before the purchase so I could use the original 3DS as a discount on the XL, but I guess if my L Button is pretty much dead, they wouldn't really take it as a trade in anyway. Ugh... Maybe I should just go buy a tiny screwdriver and fix my L Button myself. :P

Hmm... I'm really on the fence about this now. On one hand, I'd really like a fun little puzzle game to play, and the book-style layout and ability to play two-player on one system has me very interested. On the other hand, the features it's lacking leave me wondering if it's worth the purchase. I'll probably end up getting it, but this review and what I've heard from other users have me second-guessing.

E3 was better once it had really sunk in. Pikmin 3 looks outstanding, and I'm glad it's finally coming. Although NSMBU isn't exactly what I would like to see from a Mario launch title, I'm more excited about that then NSMB2. As for Nintendo Land, I think it makes a great pack-in title. For Casuals, what better way to get them involved in "hardcore" franchises than offering light versions of each packed into one game. The only problem I'll have is if it's a stand-alone retail title, as I would feel more likely to buy a Wii U knowing I get a "free" game with it.

As far as the Nintendo Direct, I actually wasn't too ecstatic about much of it. 3DS XL is nice, and I know of a few people that would rather have that than the standard model, but I don't like the design at all, and would rather keep my Ambassador 3DS for as long as I can. Other than that, it was decent. Announced a new demo, showed some new footage. But most of what they showed wasn't stuff I was interested in. That doesn't mean I'm complaining about it, I'm just waiting to hear about games I'm interested in.

Figures, the one time they add something I WANT to download, I don't have the cash to do so. Too bad. I'll make sure to pick it up asap. :P Looks good though. I've been waiting for a good Puzzle game a la Meteos on the 3DS, so I'm hoping this will hold me over until someone comes up with a good retail title.

Ugh. Don't worry c0ldfire16, I thought the same thing. This is pretty annoying. I mean, yeah, I'm excited for Paper Mario, but I've seen and heard about all these games enough already, especially Kingdom Hearts.

Guhin13 commented on Nintendo Shares Drop After E3 Press Conference:

Well, in one aspect it doesn't help people understand it's a new console when the name only has a one letter difference from the last console. I mean come on, there were rumor's that they were considering a name change, and they just left it as is? If anything, they should've known they HAD to change the name since the issue came about after last year's E3 as well. I feel like Nintendo has no idea what they're doing anymore.

Guhin13 commented on Talking Point: Reviewing Nintendo's E3 Press C...:

I agree with Tom Whitehead, in saying that the way the presentation was put together was all wrong. Nintendo Land and all the other casual things should've come first, with things like Pikmin 3 and NSMBU at the end to leave off on a good note.

That said, the conference was decent, and I still feel some excitement for Wii U, just not enough to save up for one on Launch Day. I was really hoping to see some sort of big reveal also, and that's a little disappointing.

My only other pet peeve about this whole conference was NSMBU. I think it would've been better had it been named New Super Mario World. I'm just tired of the "Game Title Wii" and what's sure to follow, "Game Title U" gimmicks. Even ZombiU's title bothers me. I mean, you really couldn't come up with something better than that? Ugh.

Guhin13 commented on Chasing Aurora Announced for Wii U eShop:

This does look and sound amazing, but I have to agree with accc in that the gameplay had better have a little more excitement than just controlling direction. But aside from that, the absolutely gorgeous art direction is gonna make it hard not to pick up this game. :D
