@Phantom_R Well, they are worth $20 a piece, they are great games!! So under $10 is a wonderful bargain!~ I remember paying $40 or so at the time for just one of them! Hehe

Yay!!!!! I havent played these games since they were originally released (back in the day) so I greatly look forward to this! They are FANTASTIC GAMES, kind of like "Link's Awakening" from what I remember! And I only owned one of them, can't remember, I think it was Seasons that I owned, and I loved it. Thank you Nintendo!
You guys are in for a real treat!

I love my 3DS XL, I use it every day to relax and I love my puzzle and retro games
Virtual Console really needs to step it up, though.

grumblegrumble commented on Club Nintendo Rewards Updated for May:
I lost my copy of AQUIA when I upgraded from a DSi to a 3DS originally, and even though I think it's an overrated game and the weakest entry in the Art Style series, it's not bad, just not my favorite, so I'll be downloading this again as a Club reward. (If they would refresh the regular rewards that would be nice, too.)

Welllll, I hate to say "I Told You So!" but when the eshop started selling downloadable retail titles, I said more than a few times "I don't want to download them because of the storage issues I'll face later on." Many people (including some mods here at NL) were saying "oooh, the 3DS/3DS XL has MORE than enough storage!! Stop yer whinin'!"
Well, look at ye now.

I totally agree on the score! Bought it last night since I loved Puzzler World XL and this version is just as great as the previous. I like the slot machine instead of the 'wheel' for the bonus round, and the extra puzzles and modes included are wonderful. I might even give this an 8/10. Great stuff
If you like puzzles (like I do) then get this. Includes crosswords, anagrams, hangman, link-a-pix, you name it. Even Sudoku.

Ok, broke down and bought this game, mainly because it was on sale for a little over $4 in the eshop. I also love collections of games, etc. This game? So far, it's ok. Just as the review says, nothing earth-shattering, nothing stands out, it's good though for $4, I think, for the variety of gameplay, especially for those of you who don't have alot on your 3DS, I would def grab this. I give it a 6/10.

So, no real improvements, just a bunch of Nintendo bricking procedures. I don't do anything illegal on mine, so no worries there, but why don't they give us the option to change the color/theme/design of our 3DS's like the old DS OS?

grumblegrumble commented on Review: Yoshi (3DS eShop / NES):
I think you gave a good score considering what this game is up against these days, with all the 3Dware we are so used to, and there are much better block puzzle games out there (Tetris Axis is my current fave!) but back in the day, when this first came out, I'm sure it might have gotten a 7 or 8 out of 10. That's just how the world goes, though. I always find joy in these older games (as I know you do, too) since they are pretty much what led to the current innovations that we take for granted in this day and age. If it wasn't for these great games that have gone before, we wouldn't have what we have today.

It's funny to me that you title this article "The biggest games of 2013" I guess youre not talking about sales, since 2013 just started, but anticipation. I personally anticipate another Zelda, Kid Icarus or Mario game, but I won't hold my breath!

"Sub-conscious vegetable buffet" lol. You know, you're so right on with that. If anyone here beat SMB2 (the American version) you know what he's talking about
Very cute ending too! I would love to see that world re-visited someday. That last level is one of my all time favorites and as a kid I figured out how to beat the entire game in about an hour.

Kinda expected this low score. I won't go so far to say that UFO is a shovelware giant, though, they have released some good games which I still play to this day on my 3DS and they are one of the only companies who consistently release titles.

I've been pulling my hair out since last Thursday (haha) only have a few strands left now lol.. Actually, it's so difficult I have to suspend it and go back to it a few days later, I get so frustrated! I especially hate how when you emerge from a green pipe (coin room) and you are trapped as mini mario behind a wall of bricks. WTF! lol. Great challenge, tho!

Zuma's Revenge? Ace Mathician? What are you guys on? lol. Ace was alright, but def not worthy of dsiware game of the year. While I applaud the game for it's originality, I haven't played it but once since buying it. My choice for dsiware game of the year would have to be Petit Computer! Zuma's Revenge? Has anyone actually played that?!

grumblegrumble commented on Review: Angry Birds Trilogy (3DS):
P.S. Jon, you say these games would cost you $3 for all three, you are definitely wrong with that figure. Looking at the App Store right now on my Mac, these games go for $4.99 a piece plus tax. Three games would equal about $15-20 after tax. I don't see a problem paying $20 for these 3 games plus unlockable content and levels, PLUS having it on your 3DS. That's like, what, $3 or $4 more than these games would cost individually? Not bad!!

grumblegrumble commented on Review: Angry Birds Trilogy (3DS):
I'm addicted to this game!! Got it on sale for just $19.99 brand new at Target about 2 weeks ago, been playing it nonstop ever since. It's price is higher than the games might cost on the App Store (for instance, on your iphone or iPad) but having it available on the 3DS is wonderful, the 3D effect is just right without being distracting, and the gameplay is impeccable. I notice a couple of glitches when all your birds have been flung, sometimes the game takes a while to register you are, in fact, done.. but I think this is just a normal flaw in the game as the same thing happens on my version of Angry Birds Space HD on my iPad. I would gladly give this game a 9/10 because it's such a wonderful addictive way to blow an entire snowy afternoon.
Did I say these games were addictive?!
I'm enjoying RIO and Seasons, never played them before but they are equally as addictive as the classic version which is also included. Plus, there are a few unlockable courses as you progress through the game. There are a few extras here and there, but there's so much content here it could literally take you months to finish.

grumblegrumble commented on Review: Cake Ninja XMAS (DSiWare):
I disagree. Bah humbug!! lol. I would give it a 5/10, it's actually quite fun when u get past level 7. The music makes it kind of hypnotic. Plus, they have a Wii U contest when u buy this game and not very many ppl have entered thus far. That means a better chance of winning one of three Wii U's! I would also give Cake Ninja 2 a 5/10. I just happen to enjoy playing it.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!
(See, even ol' grumbles is full of cheer, haha)
While I did have to work today, I still had a great Christmas! Didn't get anything Nintendo related, I spoil myself frequently with that, haha, but some of my best memories of Christmas are opening up a new NES when I was young, and all the wonderful games over the years, too. One of my favorite gifts was a GBA back in the day with Zelda Minish Cap

Not even a 3/10 for including the first game as a mode in the sequel? What a value! Haha. Well, I guess I just like slashing cakes (hey, it relieves stress), because I give this one a 5/10, but I do see your point. It really could be much more than what we are given, but I do like what's included, just wish there was more or different ways to play.
