I can't wait for this. M2 kinda screwed the pooch with the old Virtual Console version (containing the button hold bug of all early Genesis vc titles) so it'll be nice to have a properly emulated version. In 3d. On the go.

I'd love to see Super Heroes on Wii U vc as well!

Headline is wrong. From their statement:

“Gaming has spread to a number of platforms, but at the end of the day, the platform that is always closest to us, is mobile. Mobile is where the future of gaming lies.”

@Quorthon

You are a fan. I work in the industry.

I base my posts on facts, reports, and Nintendo themselves. You base it on an opinion you scraped together from internet forums.

Skylanders and Guitar Hero sell exceptionally well on nintendo platforms and continue to do so. Just because the Wii U doesn't get CoD doesn't mean Activision doesn't make games for it.

As for Star Wars, that is EA, not disney. A cursory google search would reveal that. Disney creates games like Disney Infinity which, again, is very popular on Nintendo platforms.

And just because Platinum isn't locked into a terrible exclusivity contract with Nintendo does NOT mean they aren't a valuable partner to the company.

You don't seem to have even the slightest semblance of how this industry works, and hey- I don't blame you. You're a fan, not someone working in the industry. But you do need to keep that in mind and not expect people to believe a word you say when it flies in the face of reality.

No, I will not reveal my identity or industry position, and I'm bowing out. This isn't a conversation, it's an attempt to assert your opinion onto others.

@Quorthon Here you are criticizing Nintendo supporting a 3rd party, now you're saying that they should be doing it more and more. Make up your mind.

MS and Sony do those bundles because MS and Sony don't make games with as much appeal/polish as Nintendo or other 3rd party companies. Mario will always kick Knack to the curb and they know it, so Sony partners up with Activision for a Destiny bundle because they need to compete.

Nintendo has great working relationships with TK, Platinum, Capcom, Activision, and Disney and has been working extra close with indie developers to support and promote their work. It is an area they traditionally were not excelling at but now they have been putting real money and effort toward it.

But Nintendo is in a different position than Sony and MS because Nintendo has LITERALLY the most powerful game brands on the planet.

Also, you say Nintendo dropped the ball with Bayo2, but Bayo2 has outsold Bayo1 in the same timeframe. It did fine.

I suggest instead of speculating and making bold claims about something you don't seem to know -anything- about, you instead go back to playing video games and not commenting on the internet, bothering people.

the thing that I don't get is that Wii U owners will pay $12 a pop for an old N64 ROM, or $60 for a NSMB title, and yet balk at paying $15-$20 for a brand new polished game experience built from the ground up for Wii U.

Maybe they don't understand the value of downloadbale titles is no less than retail? I think it's a line that is beginning to blur.

All this being said, the eShop has had some huge successes and I believe it can continue to. Look at Shovel Knight, for example.

I believe S&SII is the next piece of eShop gold and I'll be picking it up day one because it, frankly, looks to be one of the best 3rd party exclusives for the system and, frankly, $20 is a steal for a title that good.

@bizcuthammer Nintendo didn't "hype it up"- you did. That's how hype works.

I saw the E3 video, took in all the information, enjoyed it, and here I am reading about the best buy locations and the games playable and having a perfectly fine day. I expected it to only be select Best Buy locations, and I knew it couldn't be as big simply due to the time frames.

It's really not something to get angry about, guys. It's video games.

I hope you guys can still enjoy watching the event when it happens.

I really don't see the big stink being kicked up. I'm not even remotely mad. It's a cool E3 event, what were you guys expecting? Something of the scope and scale of the event 25 years ago?

That's completely unrealistic and it's on you for the following "disappointment."

I'm sure the event will still be fun to watch leading up to E3.

gojiguy commented on Ronimo Games Explains Pricing for Swords & Sol...:

I think it's great. This is a high quality title; I've seen it in person.

If Indies can charge more for their games, they can make better games.

$20 is nothing compared to the price people pay for things like The Order 1886 and New Super Mario Bros.

I'm sold, just let me buy the game!

Also, I'm guessing the dinosaurs are in the Island track?

Track list seems small, but if the game has online play, leaderboards, time trials, or challenges of some kind to stretch out replay value I'll be happy.

I hope they add DLC for new courses.

gojiguy commented on Year in Development: Nyamyam:

Here is one of the main reasons it didn't sell well:

It was released 8 months after a cheaper version with zero marketing and messaging.

No one will buy your game if they don't know about it (I didn't know this was out and I was following the game) and if they do know they will probably spring for the cheaper portable version.

I noticed some framerate issues at IndieCade which is a shame.

I would've picked this up had it not released the day before Halloween... I wanna play it during the Halloween time so I'll probably pick it up on sale or next october- whichever comes first!

I think this study simplifies a very complex topic. I believe that the media has a direct influence on us, even if we do not realize it or wish to admit it. But I don't think that means we can't have violent games or films... It's a very complex issue, and not one I'm qualified to comment on, but there is no definitive answer.

I love Warriors games. SW3 was great and SW:C on 3DS was even better.

I'm currently finishing up Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper on Wii U in anticipation of Hyrule Warriors and I'd like to pick up Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 if it ever drops in price on the eShop!
