GameSearcher commented on Ys Book I & II Released in US Next Week:

I've noticed good games tend to come out in August. Well, I'm a rpg fan so I'll probably try Ys, but I'm worried. I tend to go for story driven rpgs and I didn't hear anything good about the character development in this one. Still, I don't think I'll pass up one of the most loved rpgs to hit the VC.

GameSearcher commented on USA VC Update: Super Fantasy Zone and Gley Lancer:

Last week I posted:

"I'm guesstimating that Shining Force 2 will come out July 28 or August 4. My theory is that Shining Force 2 will be released a year after Shining Force was released. Also, I noticed that the European, U.S. and Japanese releases of Shining Force were about the same time. Considering that Shining Force 2 is coming out in Japan this July, then, maybe we will see an almost simultaneous release of Shining Force 2. Anyone think this theory is sound?"

I reposted it here because I think I posted it late enough last time that probably only a few people saw it and I have a question related to my theory. Has Shining Force 2 hit Japan's VC yet? I know it will hit this July, but I'd like to know the date because I think we will get SF 2 a week or 2 after Japan gets it. Also, what day of the week does the Japan VC update?

@Mickeymac
If you are looking for more good strategy rpgs, here are a few good ones.
Fire Emblem-there are a gamecube, wii and 2 game boy advance Fire Emblem games. The wii one is a difficult sequel to the gc one so I would start with another one. The gba one called Fire Emblem is a good place to start since the first few levels are easy. Anyway, Fire Emblem is for those who like challenging strategy rpgs. Since you can't level grind and once a character dies, he dies for good, Fire Emblem games can be difficult. I like them because they are challenging, but not too hard and I have to carefully think my moves out for each battle.

Disgaea (for the ps2 or psp)-This game focuses less on strategy and more on customization. It can be challenging, but you can always level grind if you get into trouble so it is never too hard. You have many character classes to choose from, each character learns many cool special moves, characters can be thrown, items can be leveled up by waging battles within them, characters can be leveled up to level 9999 and then reset to level 1, it has a hilarious story and exploding demon penguins. Anyway, it has a lot to it and is a fun and unique strategy rpg.

GameSearcher commented on North American WiiWare launch games:

Personally, I don't think this week is that bad. I mean compared to a regular week, this week is great. We got 6 games and 2 of them, Lost Winds and FFCC, could be great. Still, I did hope for more since it is WiiWare launch week.

GameSearcher commented on US VC Releases - March 24th - King's Knight:

@ Stuffgamer1 - I doubt bad sells of King's Knight will keep a game like Chrono Trigger from making it to VC. I mean it would be odd if Square thinks that the bad sells of an obscure game will mean a popular classic like Chrono Trigger will sell badly.

Actually, this bring me to another topic. I don't think the final fantasy games will make it to VC. I mean Square keeps on reselling the games for 30+ dollars. It would hurt future sells if Square makes the games easy access on VC for $8 during the Wii's lifetime. Chrono Trigger might be an exception since it hasn't been remade in a few years.

One more thing. For anyone looking for the final fantasy games or Chrono Trigger, you can buy them new at amazon.com for $20 or less (the ps1 versions).

Edit: The exception in FF7. I haven't found that new anywhere in years.
