Faron commented on Review: Metroid Fusion (Wii U eShop / Game Boy...:

The Wii U virtual console emulation is just so good in this game... it's the definitive version of the game. There are some nice touches included, like being able to customize your controls fully, screen smoothness and resolution changes, original manual in a digital form, etc.
The Game pad controls are just heavenly (as usual).

Faron commented on Mario Kart 8 Producer Explains The Absence of ...:

Game creation is not about cramming the game full of random features which might or might not work well. Mario Kart creators are clearly perfectionists, and they approach their work properly: thinking about the whole. Of course, they could put the track editor in. They could add more random characters from other games as well. They could include 20 more items. But they've decided not to, and for a reason.

Faron commented on Nicalis Boss Tyrone Rodriguez Thinks The Wii U...:

"No one uses the Game Pad?" It's like saying: The left analog stick on PS4 controller is waste of money, since no one uses it. In other words: It doesn't make any sense at all. All my games except Donkey Kong Country utilize the Game Pad. Super Mario 3d world is more fun with that miiverse-connect thing. You can also find secrets using the screen. Writing messages wouldn't be as fun without a gamepad. In Pikmin 3, it's almost required for map and planning the days. WInd Waker is better with inventory on Game Pad screen. Zombi U uses it a LOT.

Then there's this ridiculous statement: "Off-screen play would be amazing, if the screen wasn't a non-standard resolution." What in the name of heck? I can't see any difference at all between the resolution of my 40 inch HD TV screen, or the screen of game pad. Of course there is a difference on paper, but i'm not sure if human eyes could even spot that, since the game pad screen is so small. Actually, at times, the picture on Game Pad looks even better than the one on my TV. Less visible jaggies.

All in all, i can uderstand if someone critizises Wii U if the arguments match with reality. Too often it however seems, that people who haven't even played the dang machine have a lot of negative things to say about it.

Faron commented on The Next Batman Game Is Arkham Knight, And No,...:

If Wii U is underpowered, then why come it's games looks exactly like the games in Ps4Box? Also, which one looks better: a painting from Rembrandt or a painting from Bosch? Seriously, anyone comparing things like this lacks common sense. Cartoony games have already peaked in terms of graphics (and most of the Wii U:s exclusives are cartoony). And about the game mechanics: SM3dWorld has more mechanics in a few stages than most of the "current game" games usually. How do we even define underpowered in this day and age? The amount of components under the hood of the console is not a valid argument, if you can't really see the difference anywhere. And yeah, my eyes are working normally. P.S. GTA V looks better and has more complicated physics than anything released for these current gen machines.

This answer is not for you alone, but for anyone who still lives in that senseless belief that Wii U:s power have got anything to do with actual reality.

Faron commented on Dedicated Video Game Platforms To Remain Ninte...:

I'm sure that many people would love to see Nintendo to play their hand like everyone else in the market. Like a tame underdog following the tired motions of others. However, Nintendo's got backbone more than other companies combined. They are doing what they want, and if you don't like it, GTFO :D

Faron commented on Soapbox: A Case For The Defence: Castlevania 64:

This is my favorite Castlevania ever. The music and atmosphere is just unbeatable (even though some people thought that the game lacked music altogether after failing to beat the first, more silent stage).

Faron commented on Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U...:

Some games already require Game Pad. You can't just sacrifice it at this point anymore, it would be incredibly stupid. Also, why should every game utilize it? Isn't it supposed to be simply- you know, more options for the developers. Who said that it should be forced in every game? They did that with Wii Mote and people complained.

Faron commented on Talking Point: The Wii U's 'Relevance' Is Abou...:

Most likely yeah. Super Mario 3D World could not put Wii U back on track mainly because there were some who understood it's concept wrong (effectively failing to realise it's greatness without even trying it), and also, the game was released at the same time as PS4... a bad timing.
But yeah, I'm sure that Wii U will gain momentum later this year, even though it seems like the press is ready to do almost anything to make Nintendo fail.

Faron commented on Speedrunner Alert - Majora's Mask Glitch Allow...:

Speedruns are a great thing... but in practice, it's pretty irritating to look at Link rolling from place to place non-stop.
Edit: In addition, i really liked it how they made Link mostly mute for A Link Between Worlds again. If you're able to swing your sword multiple times in a second, it's tiring to listen Link shouting in every swing.

Faron commented on Feature: Nintendo Games We'd Love to See in 2014:

It should not be called METROID PRIME IV! And it will not, since the trilogy ended the story and it would make zero sense to return to it. I would want to see a new first- person Metroid game, but it should have a different name...

Seriously, this is almost as visionary as Twilight Princess 2, or Super Mario 64 2. I'll tell you, we'll never see those games (thank god).

Faron commented on Talking Point: Is The Castlevania Series Finis...:

I don't even want Lords of Shadow for the Wii U. I bought the original LoS for ps3, played it through and came out extremely disappointed. Everything that used to be good in Vania series has been stripped away: There's too much handholding, the story is generic and the music is bland. It's just another action game attempting to mimic God of War.

Faron commented on New York Times Critic Identifies Super Mario 3...:

This game is just the beginning. After the other heavy- hitters hit the shelves, those doubters who always spell doom for Nintendo will ONCE AGAIN, for the millionth time have to admit that they were wrong. Wake up for gods sakes... seriously. When the hell are you going to wake up? Learn from History! Here's a prediction: Nintendo Does Well in this generation. But when the Next Next generation has started, everyone is once again predicting doom for Nintendo.

P.S. People like that analyst Pachter must have something wrong in their brain. How else could anyone be so wrong so constantly.

P.P.S. I apologise for this off-topic rant.

Faron commented on Ping 2: Attack of the Spheres Hoping To Bounce...:

I have a question: If a kickstarter project like this fail to get enough money for the project, where does the money they are able to get go? Are the developers just stuffing the money in their own pockets if they're unable to get enough?

Faron commented on Nintendo: Wii U Fire Emblem Would Need To Sell...:

So now they stop making the games we want 'cause they might not sell well enough? Nintendo should start to prioritize: Which is more important, their real fans, or casual audience that might defect at any time? And how are they expecting the Wii U sell any better if they don't offer enough variety of quality games to the system?

Faron commented on Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me:

The more you've seen violence and grief in real life, the less crap like this appeals. It's such a pity that Rockstar's programmers have such technical talent- with slightly less nihilistic atmosphere, this could've been a superior title.
