I've played this on my friend's Master System a few times, not a bad game if you have two players. It can be frustrating at times but it's a lot better than some VC games available at the moment.

I didn't get round to buying this game at the time. Maybe I'll pick this up when I get hold of a Classic Controller. I still remember the problems people had finding Expansion Paks to play this and DK64 with.

EJD commented on SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Availabl...:

I would have commented this earlier but I forgot my login. Anyway, a brilliant update, the VCA games will be interesting to see. I haven't got round to buying a SD card yet but the update is great news all the same.

EJD commented on Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After...:

@Chicken Brutus: Yeah I'm pretty sure the original Game Boy games could be played on a Game Boy Colour. This must be the first good bet I've made in years. I would also love to play the Zelda games, I only recall playing Link's Awakening. I was determined to get Oracle of Ages/Seasons at the time it came out but never got round to it. :(

EJD commented on Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After...:

This really makes the DSi a consideration for me now, I was a bit unsure after seeing the retail price but this is incredible news! The ultimate handheld? I think so. :)

Unless I'm incredibly stupid, I assume this will include Game Boy Colour games as well, if that is so then I won't have to search my room for my old Game Boy Colour. :P

A great review, I was hoping this would get a 9 and I'm glad that has come true. Looks like a barrel of fun for 600 Points; this will be a definite buy. :)

Can't wait to play this and any future Bit.Trip games!

@PapaSmalls: Forgot to mention this; a great review. :D It's nice to see you trying to find the best aspects in a game rather than focusing on the negative points as I've seen in gaming magazines. Hope to see more from you. :)

EJD commented on Review: Family & Friends Party (WiiWare):

I expected a 5 just from seeing the title. I don't feel this game will do well but then again Pong Toss had a long run on the charts. I hope games like this won't be the only multiplayer games we'll see on WiiWare.

EJD commented on Night Game - New Game Play Video:

@Corbie: I think it's because the DS is advertised a lot more than the PSP. I was considering getting one but there are only a few games that interest me and I only one know one person that has one. I stick to home consoles mainly but my mind may change.

As for Night Game, it looks great graphically and similar to World of Goo. Can't wait to find out more about it.

EJD commented on EU WiiWare Update: Beer Pong and Snowboard Riot:

I was holding on to my remaining 1000 points for today's releases but it looks like I'll have to wait even longer for something to download. :(

S&S, Cave Story and Bit Trip may be worth waiting for though so my hopes for WiiWare are still intact despite the below mediocre releases.

EJD commented on Take Five and Double It!:

I'm impressed with the revamped ratings and find them to work better than the 5 stars system. It will be much easier for me to decide which games to get now. :)

Can't wait for the user rating feature to return, maybe this could be used on WiiWare World as well. Great work VCR team! :D

EJD commented on Onslaught:

Just bought this today and I think it's the best WiiWare game I've purchased yet. Still haven't tried the online mode but I'm expecting more great things to come. DLC would be great for this game, new levels maybe.

EJD commented on Nintendo DSi North American Launch: April 5th:

@Chicken Brutus: Thanks for telling me that, as long as 2DBoy can follow up World of Goo I'm happy.

@Wiiloveit: Will you be doing reviews of the DSiWare games on your site?

I'll have to read many reviews before considering getting a DSi, at least this release date annoucement allows some to save up in the meantime.

EJD commented on Nintendo DSi North American Launch: April 5th:

@Wiiloveit: I hope you're right. I wonder how the release schedule for the DSi will work and if there will be as much complaining when only 1 game is released a week. A portable World of Goo would work well, with downloadable levels possibly.

EJD commented on Nintendo DSi North American Launch: April 5th:

@Wiiloveit: I'm glad to hear someone else has heard of it, it looks great. :) That would be cool to see a Virtual Handheld shop but I've still got my Game Boy Colour getting dusty somewhere. Then again, the battery ran out on my Pokemon Gold cartridge so the DSi would be handy for that. I hope Nintendo don't make the same mistake, no storage solution is necessary if Nintendo do this right. 256MB sounds like enough but for those who download many games, that could run out quickly. I'm hoping playing games from an SD card could be true with the DSi.

If they bring Game & Watch titles on the portable VC, I think I may just get a DSi.

EJD commented on Nintendo DSi North American Launch: April 5th:

I'm not getting a DSi even if there is a WiiWare like service. Taking away the GBA slot is a bit unfair for those wanting to get the Guitar Hero games and people that have already bought a DS Lite. At least the DS Lite wasn't essential for extra features. I'm sticking with non-portable consoles for now although the Pandora looks interesting.

EJD commented on Review: Onslaught (WiiWare):

@Drake: Thanks for clearing that up. I should have read the scoring policy, sorry. I'll keep this in mind for future reviews. The review has really helped me make my mind up about this game and I know for sure I'll be getting it. :)

@Wiiloveit: Thanks for letting me know, I may not be able to join in MKW but I'm up for Bomberman Blast and Tetris Party. I haven't played Tetris Party online before. :(

EJD commented on Review: Pop-Up Pirate! (WiiWare):

I wasn't expecting a lot from this game and predicted a 5 or less. I'm sure WiiWare will bring more board games though, which would be nice to bring some good multiplayer action. I'm guessing there will be a WiiWare Kerplunk or something else in the works.

EJD commented on Review: Onslaught (WiiWare):

A great review once again and a surprising score as well. I thought it would get a 8 but a 9 is awesome! I'll definitely be picking this one up soon. :)

@Drake: Just out of interest, what would have made this game a 10/10? It didn't seem like there was anything wrong with this game in the review.

@Wiiloveit: Will you be doing tournaments for this game like you have done for Mario Kart Wii? I haven't got round to playing online for months.

EJD commented on EU WiiWare Update: Onslaught and Pop-Up Pirate!:

Glad to see we were surprised this week. I'll be waiting for the Onslaught review and hope it scores well. Pop-Up Pirate doesn't appeal to me and I've already played the board version so I don't expect much.

I'm just waiting for Gradius Rebirth now and then I think I'll be kept busy for months.

Welcome Paul. :)
A good first review, I hope to read more from you soon.

I'll pass as this game as I wouldn't play multiplayer often. I've got 1080 on the N64 to keep me occupied. :)

Welcome Scott and a great first review. :)
I look forward to reading more from you soon.

I expected this game to get around a 7, it looks interesting but I'm saving my Wii Points for a game I'm more decided on. Bit Trip might be that game I'm waiting for.

Sounds like another decent game from Hudson. I'm used to FPS games on the PC but this seems like a good idea for WiiWare.

EJD commented on Tetris Party Tournament No. 2 Details:

I tried the first competition and I'm not very good at Tetris Party as it is. I'll most likely pass this one, I don't know any Tetris fans. I hope other WiiWare games with online high scores will have competitions like this.

EJD commented on EU VC Update: Mario Golf and Wonder Boy in Mon...:

@Drake: It's not that bad, the multiplayer was great fun. I still have the original game and I've never managed to beat the third jack in the box boss. Each Kong's different abilities made it decent for me and Chunky's pineapple gun was the best.

EJD commented on Bubble Bobble Wii - Now With 4 Player Support:

I downloaded the original on the VC a few months ago and enjoyed it, this looks even better. I may be put off the DLC if the extra levels are all a high difficulty but I suppose practice helps. 800 Points seems reasonable for what you're getting here, the 4 player will be interesting to see.

EJD commented on USA WiiWare Update: High Voltage Hot Rod Show ...:

Not an entirely bad week, HRS doesn't sound too bad after reading the review. I hope future releases bring more variety.

@77. Wiiloveit: Argh, I'd love to join in MKW online but I'm going out that day. Will these online sessions be a regular thing or occassional? I haven't played online for months. As for the drifting, I thought MKW was much better at it than MKDS.

EJD commented on Review: High Voltage Hot Rod Show (WiiWare):

This sounds better than I anticipated, I thought it would get a 5. Not a bad week completely then and at least there's an alternative to SPOGS for racing WiiWare games. I'll most likely get this as soon as it comes to Europe. Bring on more racing games! :)

EJD commented on Review: Family Glide Hockey (WiiWare):

@32. Shadx: I completely agree, I've only played Bomberman Blast and World of Goo out of those you mentioned but I'm sure the others are great. I don't like the Mega Man games but I assume fans of the series love it. I didn't enjoy the Strong Bad animations so I don't think I'd like the games.

World of Goo has a fantastic soundtrack which I don't often say about games.

My second first post, it's rare that I find the articles are soon as they're up.

EJD commented on Review: Family Glide Hockey (WiiWare):

@Shadx: I thought WiiWare had buried gems in it too but recently I'm becoming less optimistic about WiiWare. :( Hopefully I'm proved wrong in the future. Looking at some of the forthcoming games, my hopes for WiiWare may improve. The main thing that gets to me is the huge amount of puzzle games, I'd love to see more variety, an RPG or some multiplayer minigame package would be interesting to see.

EJD commented on Review: Family Glide Hockey (WiiWare):

I expected a 4 after reading that review but it seems like this was a wasted opportunity. When will WiiWare pick up again?

@Link: I pretty much agree, WiiWare seems to be a dumping place for shovelware with games like Midnight Bowling and SPOGS.

@Objection_Blaster: I sense I made a mistake, I somewhat rushed that comment. Ok how's this: This week has been the worst WiiWare week and last week was the worst VC week. I assumed people would have known what I meant. Maybe I should stop commenting...

EJD commented on EU WiiWare Update: Lonpos:

The worst update we've ever had, just as bad as last week. I expected at least 2 games, I'll just have to learn to be patient with WiiWare. So many promising games that are still to be released. 2009 should be a great year for WiiWare, as long as they are more games released each week.

Lonpos is a pass for me, I think WiiWare has enough puzzle games.

EJD commented on Review: Jungle Speed (WiiWare):

I predicted a 6 or 7 for this game. I may consider getting this in the future but at the moment I haven't got much room left on my Wii for WiiWare. Looks like it could be a great multiplayer game but as with TV Show King, I'll hold off on this until I'm certain I'll play with others often.

EJD commented on Review: Planet Pachinko (WiiWare):

I expected this to get a 5 but was hoping for a 6 or more. Disappointing to discover this game is overly complex and confusing. Those 500 Wii Points will be going elsewhere now. :) Great review as always.

EJD commented on EU VC Update: Enduro Racer and Donkey Kong 3:

@Starwolf_UK: I agree completely. WiiWare is Nintendo's main priority currently and all the shovelware released on it prevents classic games being released on the VC.

I'm hoping the import festival improves things and I'd love to see Wrecking Crew '98. Whenever these bad games are released, we're closer to getting good ones.

EJD commented on Uno Coming to WiiWare and DSiWare:

I don't see how local multiplayer would work as you could see each others cards then. Online would be cool though and I might buy this if it's 800 Points or less.
