dumedum commented on Wii U Named as "The Top Selling Item on Target...:

This was really excellent news for Nintendo. I think there's a lot of life left and a lot of potential left in the Wii U. It's an amazing console. It's a shame that Nintendo put up the NX stuff so Wii U's life became so much shorter suddenly with everyone expecting a successor. Third parties were horrible and short sighted with the Wii U but it's filled with strong first party games and the Nindies, really a great console all around and good to see U.S. consumers being smart about it this holiday season.

dumedum commented on You Can Now Buy A Replacement Wii U GamePad On...:

This has nothing to do with NX. Simply a replacement Game Pad. Says nothing of the future.

The price is also completely fine, the Game Pad is a really cool controller with a touch screen and everything.

The Xbox old gen controller with no screen or NFC or anything that costs 150 dollars is ridiculous lol.

@Yorumi who looked at what? obviously these 3 games are in the red, bring the average down but there are many great scoring games, like Splatoon and Mario Market and probably Xenoblade. Also Pokemon getting great reviews now. I doubt it's the lowest output of games too, there were a lot.

dumedum commented on Editorial: It's Not Fun to Criticise Nintendo ...:

So there are a few games that scored badly.

Super Mario Maker = Excellent reviews
Yoshi Wooly World = good reviews
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon = good reviews
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes = good reviews
Xenoblade X = excellent reviews?
Star Fox will also score well I think.
Zelda U = excellent reviews?

No issue really. It's basically just two games. Amiibo festival and Tennis. Devil's Third... seriously. So two Nintendo games that appeal to casual anyway.Fatal Frame scored average.

They were always a bunch of nincompoops, complete idiots. They couldn't get Wiiware to work although it had wonderful games, and now they can't figure how to port a flash lookalike game to a full HD console. Not worth attention even.

dumedum commented on Nintendo Shares Level Out After $4 Billion Dro...:

no effect. all these shares are already traded, it's all secondary market. So whatever the share price is, it has no economical effect on Nintendo. But some of Nintendo executives have shares themselves/options so it's always good for the share price to be high for the company, but directly it doesn't matter one bit. It's a perception thing, and affects only the investors.

The Force Unleashed on Wii is just an incredible game. It really showed how much fun can be had with the nunchuk's motion control, probably the best game to use that successfully. A joy. Should play it again I love it so much.

@MoonKnight7 (@electrolite77) you are just contradicting yourself. Either the investors, which I am one of them by the way, so I can speak for myself, are unhappy with the Wii U or they ignore it. They're certainly not unhappy because then the share price will reflect it.

Of course the share price was influenced by the excellent mobile decision, but Nintendo has made all the right choices of the Wii U situation - the amiibo is an incredible success - and that's a Wii U accessory - and it managed to create success with both Splatoon and Mario Maker which and keep the console selling very well in Japan, relative to the competition. Of course it's not selling well in the west but it's not bleeding money - Nintendo did not profit from exchange rates, it stopped suffering from exchange rates that plagued it before, so yes, sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't, but overall, it has been doing well, and the Wii U is currently part of the overall success.

dumedum commented on Parent Trap: Does The Wii U Still Make Sens...:

In the end it was ahead of its time. Playing with GamePad with games like Zombi U or Mass Effect 3 or Arkham City and so on is a magnificent experience. But it didn't have the wide appeal. People preferred the boring old controllers and the lesser experiences, and people got what they deserved.

dumedum commented on Super Mario Maker Grabs Sixth Place in NPD US ...:

@MoonKnight7 "You can't honestly believe that Nintendo investors are ok with that comment, do you? "

Ehh, they clearly are. At this time in October last year, the share price was $12-$13. It is now $24. Astoundingly Double. That's literally an amazing thing, so those investors couldn't be happier actually. The fact is that the Wii U with hits like Splatoon and Mario Maker and the amiibo business is in a very good place right now money wise, whether you like to admit that or not.

dumedum commented on Talking Point: Why Does Investor Confidence in...:

Didn't read everything, but the article seems oblivious to the fact that there is a global crisis in the stockmarket following China's devaluation of its currency. It affected all the stocks, Nintendo is just following the same trend. Nothing to do with Nintendo.

If it wasn't for the general market problems, I imagine Nintendo would have continued to do well. Their mobile announcement is excellent. Their amiibo handling is great - it brings huge profit to them. They have crazy hits like Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. Everything is really good with Nintendo right now, it is just the general market sucking.

dumedum commented on Feature: Have You Played... ZombiU?:

Greatest Zombie game ever (well, not including Resident Evil 4 Wii of course) and a masterpiece on the Wii U GamePad. Bought the Wii U bundle at launch with the booklet and everything.
