DreMurf313 commented on Former Naughty Dog And THQ Head Jason Rubin Sa...:

I agree with you Nictendo64!!100%

What Mr Rubin fails to realize is M$ & Sony do not make "traditional consoles" anymore! They also DO NOT MAKE CONSOLES OR GAMES FOR GAMERS!!

The Executive producer for Infinity ward (Mark Rubin) said it best: Call of Duty appeals to "the unconscious casual gamer". They spend $400 - $500 on a console & they'll buy Call of Duty- & thats it!! Or, they'll spend big on a console & buy GTA (& thats it!), Madden (& thats it), NBA 2k (& thats it!), Battlefield (& thats it!!), FIFA (& thats it!)

The only other game these "unconscious casual gamers" will get is the sequel to whatever they already purchased (C.O.D. Black Ops to C.O.D. Black Ops 2, NBA 2k13 to NBA 2k14, etc...) These people are not gamers!!!
Now, factor in the consoles PS4 & Xbox one & how they do EVERYTHING ELSE FIRST & GAMING COMES LAST!!! Sony & M$ boasts Mega social networking and Monster muti media. With video gaming in last place. So, yes-I think Nintendo is "totally not in the discussion" when compared with M$ & Sony. Because apparently- The only GAMING CONSOLE that is available is .......you already know. The Wii U.

DreMurf313 commented on PS4 and Xbox One Surpass Wii U Lifetime Sales ...:

Ok. Cool article & all, but I'm not worried. Wii U was slow out the gate but slaes are gradually picking up. Sony & M$'s systems are "the new/ end of the year/ latest Christmas toy to debut. So, naturally they are going to sell big. But, lets look at the OVERALL lifecycle of each console.

Just like the Wii was a scarce phenom over 7 years ago eventually people became bored with it & sales TREMENDOUSLY dipped! I think the same will happen to PS4 & XBOX ONE, once people see these games are literally THE SAME AS LAST GEN!

DreMurf313 commented on Poll: As the PS4 Arrives, What Do You Think of...:

LOOK! You guys have to understand 1 thing.

THE WII U ISN'T NEXT GEN!! NINTENDO IS NOT A NEXT GEN COMPANY!!!

Do you know what NEXT GEN even means? "Everything else comes first & gaming comes last." This is todays definition of NEXT GEN. Other than stellar graphics, how does the PS4 or XB-1 enhance gameplay? They offer Major social networking, Monster multi media, Universal Online, with games that are visually impressive.

But those games are the same old games we've been playing for nearly 3 generations. The popular FPS's (COD, Battlefield, Halo, L4D, etc), survival horror (Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dead Space), racing (Gran Turismo, Need for speed, Forza), free roam car jacking (you already know!), espionage/ stealth (Splinter Cell, MGS, Assasins Creed) & SPORTS!
All of these are fun but they are now ONLINE based with overpriced unnecessary DLC.

These past 2 generations have produced low replay quality games where the"cash cow" known as DLC & online rules supreme. These games for Sony & M$ have a shelf life meaning they have to hit their projected marks during their "shelf life" or they'll miss their target entirely!

Nintendo has never had that problem. I know people who still play their N64 to this very day & love it!Their games have that lasting effect to where even if they don't sell right off the back- THEY EVENTUALLY WILL. (Eventually meaning "After everyone has had enough of buying the violent popular game because EVERYONE is playing it.)

& to be honest, the Wii U is the only console that is DEDICATED TO GAMING FIRST & FOREMOST! The Wii U gamepad (along with the Wiimote) really adds a new element to gaming which brings about fresh new experiences. Instead of being limited to a double analog controller with shoulder buttons.

This so called next generation of consoles is gonna be interesting. I think the Wii U will make money. Im pretty sure of it! But I'm not about to say the PS4 or XB-1 will overtake Nintendo just yet.

DreMurf313 commented on 3D Altered Beast:

"ARISE FROM YOUR GRAVE" I'll be downloading this for mostly nostalgic reasons. In 1990, my parents bought me a SNES but I also wanted a Sega Genesis to play ALTERED BEAST. They weren't about to buy another game system so- I saved my money (from my job as a cashier on the weekends) & I bought one myself.

DreMurf313 commented on Review: Beyblade: Evolution (3DS):

I saw this at GAMESTOP a while ago. & I was shocked to see( after ALL THESE YEARS) a BeyBlade game on 3DS with an actual BeyBlade! My son was deep into this stuff when he was like 8 years old. & actually these spinning tops are older than that. I think it's from the 1960's -& By the time the new millennium hit they gave it a anime feel. Which appealed to the kids in America who were into Japanese Anime.

It's very funny when you think about it. Cause at the end of the day- THEY'RE JUST SPINNING TOPS! Lol

DreMurf313 commented on Talking Point: Regional Online Multiplayer Mis...:

Hmm. I downloaded Wii Sports Club Bowling as soon as 12pm hit & have been playing it ever since. The majority of my matches have been online. Which I found lag free & downright fun. With that said, for $10 I expected to have WORLD WIDE ONLINE ACCESS!!!Not limited to my home state only. Shame on you Nintendo!!

As far as competing with Sony & M$, I don't think Nintendo has anything to worry about. Why? because Nintendo's focus will always be family fun. Which will push them to continue to make memorable games that we can play right now or 15 years later & still find replay value. Not totally depending on Online to enhance your overall experience! Now- if you can -name me 5 titles from the PS one & original Xbox you can go back & play with the same enjoyment as if it were new (Without the online experience for the original Xbox).

M$ & Sony's approach to online is: (on a scale of 1 being most important to 100 being least important) ONLINE/ SOCIAL NETWORKING IS 1-25. MULTI MEDIA IS 26 - 85. & GAMING IS 86-100. This is Especially true with M$!! At least Sony does have some Mascot power in Drake, Ratchet Clank, Sly Cooper, Kratos, & Sack Boy.

Nintendo has to improve their approach to online while keeping that family friendly moniker. This is going to be interesting seeing how they have ALWAYS been a local play company that now have accept that ONLINE IS NO FAD!! (Why they treat it as such is hilarious indeed!!) The Miiverse is a great start. Now they must capitalize on this. & don't be afraid of what might happen if others get Online to ruin others gameplay experience through obscenity & cheating. Which reminds me. Bring Back SWAP NOTE TO THE 3DS!! Don't take away this cool feature because a couple of losers decided to ruin others experience!!

Sony is really on the right track but they need to improve on presenting their package (The PS3 never really proved why blu-ray should be the dominating format when it comes to GAMES) & be more price conscious about their merchandise (The PS Vita is should have been $200 2 years ago! & should be priced $150 now! A great mobile device but still over priced!)

& M$ needs to up their focus to improve the overall gaming experience with more than endless online options, graphics, an over abundance of unnecessary DLC, & over the top multi media. Honestly, they need more mascots other than Master Chief.

I actually fell sorry for this generation of gamers because we are seeing a de-evolution of so called game systems that gives you EVERYTHING ELSE FIRST & Gaming last!.

DreMurf313 commented on EA Executive: Shigeru Miyamoto is 'Falling Dow...:

Like my Dad used to tell me as a kid. "Always remember the ones who put in the work in the beginning". "Without them, where would we be?" & it seems (to me) many of our generation is ignoring the tradition & opting for quick-hit-apps along with graphically enhanced FPS & 3rd-PS.

@galetyler
Agreed!! Exactly how can you compare cell phone games to full wide scale on the 3DS? Apple is known for downloadable quick-hit apps. (like Tetris, Candy Crush Saga, Bejeweled, UNO, Plants vs Zombies, etc...) The entire library cost between .99 cents to $9.99.

They're quick, easy, & fun to play. But they aren't popular to the point where Nintendo is being phased out!

DreMurf313 commented on Review: The Wonderful 101 (Wii U):

One of the best games of the year! I'll even go as far to say "one of he best games in this current generation! Once again, how could IGN give this a 7.5 & turn right around & call GTA 5 "The best game I've ever played" then give it a 10? I've played GTA, you have tons to do which is always cool, but the reason why people bought it is to carjack, pick up prostitutes, & run from the cops. its a 8.5 all the way! But 101 is a 9.5 to a 10 in anyway you look at it!!

DreMurf313 commented on Review: ZombiU (Wii U):

@Lobster I Agree! I was wrong to "believe the hype" on this title. All the negative reviews that flooded the internet on Zombie U. I don't believe how good this game really is. I guess I'll be picking up a fresh copy on this weeks payday!

DreMurf313 commented on Review: ZombiU (Wii U):

After a year of "buying into the hype" I finally rented this game & I must admit I was wrong! Zombie U is a unique experience in survival that uses the Wii U gamepad in many intelligent ways. Unfortunately this title got a series of "Raw Deal Reviews" over a year ago: Especially from IGN!. Its debut price was $50 to $60, which is a bit much. Now you can pick this up for $17 used & $20 new, which makes this game a steal!!

I WILL BE PICKING UP A FRESH COPY THIS WEEK!!
