Doma commented on Talking Point: Should Zelda Go Episodic?:

@JimLad
MM was in no way 'episodic' to OoT... the visuals and some NPCs were re-used (by appearance alone), but the actual connection it had to OoT was incredibly loose, linking to how he got the ocarina and that's it.
I agree i'd like to see a game that re-uses WW assets (not TP though), with a changed setting and no stupid filler (i.e. sailing), more varied and replayable content, added difficulty..etc. In a similar way to MM, something like that could be awesome. It will never happen though.

All i can say is, with how the series is going (mainly since after WW), they just keep getting worse. Zelda will be dead (to me at least) before long.
Oh, and making them episodic/directly connected to one another (story and all) as suggested here would only speed up the current deterioration IMO.

Doma commented on Talking Point: Should Zelda Go Episodic?:

Wut... no. What we all need is a Zelda (preferably 3d) that brings some actual difficulty and isn't the usual samey quest. Majora's Mask was the last truly good Zelda. Actually, just give me MM 3DS, then i can stop caring about this series altogether.

Doma commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

Analog sticks were always gonna be the better choice, it'd be hard for a gamer to take the thing seriously without 'em. But does it have those handle grips that were also seen on the back of the original design (before the inferior E3 model)? If so, all there'd be left to fix is the ridiculous oversize and stupid name.

Doma commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Should Offer Indie Gam...:

Nice idea... but before that, they really need to sort the pricing out properly between regions. Is there a specific reason for why the UK eshop prices are almost double to what to the US' are? 'cause that alone is usually enough to repel me from wasting cash on their piss-poor excuse of a DD store. I'll probably continue to use it as a (sub-par) demo service and nothing else.

Doma commented on Talking Point: Why Skyward Sword Sales Failed ...:

@FantasiaWHT
Exactly the same thoughts as mine. I'm just not buying the M+ to be used once.

The other factors that's put me off though, is hearing about all the excessive hand-holding/tutorials. Also, being too formulaic - one of the main reasons TP bored me.

Doma commented on New Super Mario Bros. 2 to Kick Off Retail Dow...:

I couldn't care less for NSMB2 atm, but there are retail games i'd prefer to download instead of buying the carts. However, seeing as this is Nintendo and they've just spout this “value comes from the software” line, i expect the prices will be (and forever stay) at the supposed RRP of £40. Screw that..

Doma commented on Nintendo Reveals New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS:

Wow, they’re really intent on reusing these same assets/engine over and over. All they have to do is create some new levels by reusing the existing templates and it's good to go, ready to be sold at full price to the masses. It's no wonder why they'll never give us an editor...

Doma commented on Feature: The Super Mario Renaissance:

There may have been fewer Mario games in the past, but honestly they were better and more unique games from one another, unlike what we're seeing lately. 1, 2, 3, W, W2 etc. all have a differentiated art-style and distinct gameplay/features.

-Galaxy was kinda unique, sure. G2 was an expansion/second-half (albeit improved).
-NSMB uniqueness came from its (now boring) visuals and a couple of non-essential power-ups. NSMBW, like G2 is just an expansion.
-SM3DL is a dull mix between these, nothing new or interesting to see here.

I definitely prefer the old ones.. and that's not due to nostalgia. I'm losing interest in Mario games now tbh.

Doma commented on Fire Emblem: Awakening Pops The Question:

Too much pointless voice acting... it will likely take forever for this to be released elsewhere due to that alone. Hope there's an option to mute it, cause we all know the English VA will be terrible.

Doma commented on Intelligent Systems Rejected Modern-Day Fire E...:

Well sh*t, this could have been interesting. They'd have been forced to create more than a couple of new classes. As long as they kept the same mechanics/gameplay it would have been fine imo. I have no problem with the current setting, but a change for once should be welcomed.

Doma commented on Review: Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS):

I got the CCP with that RE:R deal, but didn't use it cause i preferred the regular controls. With this game though, using dual-sticks/pads would probably be way more comfortable than using the stylus. Pretty damn stupid of them to not utilize THEIR OWN add-on properly...

i'll wait for a demo or something, need to confirm how good/bad the controls actually are before buying.

Doma commented on Nintendo Download: 1st March 2012 (Europe):

Are Nintendo really that oblivious to these prices being a joke?... it's hard to believe, but i guess there are plenty of fools willing to pay this much for ancient games.

All i can do is laugh and continue to spend my money elsewhere.

Doma commented on Wii U Controller Originally Had Proper Analogu...:

Looking at those comparisons, the later version seems to be inferior in almost every way... wtf.
They should go with the original design, but reduce the screen's size in order to make a more ergonomic shape possible.

Doma commented on Pokémon Black & White Version 2 Announced:

Should have put this on the 3DS, if only to have a less primitive online set-up. I honestly can't see them changing up much for these games apart from the story - which i couldn't care less about.

We'll see though.

Doma commented on Capcom Had Resident Evil 5 Running on 3DS:

@sinalefa
What i can't see them doing is including the online modes (which are essential to the game), on top of having to sell it cheaper.. all for the select few people who'll own a WiiU and haven't played it yet.

Agree with your 2nd comment. That's why i ignored the 3D Mercs port and have Revelations pre-ordered.

Doma commented on Capcom Had Resident Evil 5 Running on 3DS:

I REALLY doubt Capcom are gonna bother with porting RE5 to a Nintendo system after this long (especially considering its online), as they couldn't charge full price.
It's been cheap on every other system now for ages, give up the wait.

Doma commented on Review: 3D Classics: Kid Icarus (3DSWare):

Got the code fine last week. I'm ok with it so far, about up to the 5-6th level (not playing often), i never really bothered getting past the first 2 levels before.
The movement controls is the only problem for me, the circle pad is so crappy to use for a game like this.. forces me to use the stupidly placed d-pad. I don't care about the new backgrounds or 3d much.

I hope NoE continues to use these offers though, cause i know i wont be getting them otherwise. Ancient GB/NES games should be priced more appropriately or free like this imo.

Doma commented on Colourful European 3DS Bundles Look Like This:

should've bundled Mario Kart 7 instead if they really wish to maximise 3ds sales, dunno why they didn't given the release date. I can live without Mario 3d.
I've been able to resist buying a 3DS VERY easily up to now (ports and remakes were no motivation), but with MK7 and RE:R coming soon, they may be enough for me to not regret buying one before the lite.

Doma commented on FAQ: Your Super Mario 3D Land Questions:

The merging of the 2D/3D games is a crappy direction imo. You can't expect elements from both series to go hand in hand, they're better off being separate.

And really, we've seen enough from the Bros. series already, it's gotten tired. SMB3 and SMW were the best (3 > W), it's not like we'll ever see a game of the same quality again, since they just keep rehashing stuff from those 2.
I'd rather they focused more on the 3D games now - a real successor to Mario 64 and Sunshine is what's needed.

Doma commented on Review: GoldenEye 007 (Nintendo 64):

Untitled
..less than a 10 is madness.

Lowering the score because of dated graphics now (when they were great at its time of release) is just plain unnecessary. Also, unless you were playing with a controller other than the 64's, i don't get the fiddly/impractical issue you have.. The method for aiming was fine, it also encouraged stealth to a degree (you could sidestep/crouch while doing it for example).

This review's slightly blasphemous. Everything about the game was great actually.
