@Spoony_Tech Yes. Gaming systems fail in the West always when the name doesn't change outside of Japan. Just look at the Game Boy line, the original DS, the family of PlayStation consoles.

You do realize that back in the days of the NES, names changed as a result of circumstance right? If we got the "Family Computer" in America, it would not have changed any consumers' minds after the video game crash of 83, as "Family Computer" pretty much screams "another games console". "Nintendo ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM" symbolized setting apart from previous consoles, as it included games involving the Zapper and R.O.B. Now "SUPER Nintendo Entertainment System" was merely just the same name for the pure sake of familiarity at the time. Sega's "Genesis" was named so in America for the sake of competitiveness, that it was proclaiming itself as possibly the true next step for games.

Yes, there is a reason for the occassional name change from region to region, but your claim that there is an absolute cause-and-effect between that and a system's success, is disproven by the mere statement of it alone.
