CuzinMike commented on Review: Monster Hunter 3 (Tri~) (Wii):

Hey great review James. The 9/10 score from nintendolife is even listed under critic scores on gamespot's review for the game. That's the first I've seen nintendolife mentioned there.

I loved the Super Trilogy games growing up. Super Empire was my favorite b/c you had to fight Vader so many times. I can't wait for the others to be released! Hopefully LucasArts will also soon release Maniac Mansion as well!

Lol, when I saw the title i thought this would be an attempt to make a Flip Cup game, similar to the Beer Pong game for WiiWare. Too bad.

CuzinMike commented on Uncharted Waters: New Horizons:

I don't remember this game being a 2 player game. This game is fun at first but it gets to be very repetitive. While, each character offers a different yet intertwined story, you basically follow the same pattern of making money, exploring the world, managing your fleet of ships and crew and finally battling other ships. There are numerous ways to make money in this game, i.e. trading goods, delivering messages, gambling at black jack, mapping the globe, travelling to certain locations and discovering various objects. But the quickest and most fun way to make money is battling other ships, the winner taking control over their fleet, crew and whatever valuable cargo they may be holding. Again this is all fun when you play your first character story, but when you rinse and repeat this process over the remaining character stories it does get tiresome. While completing each character's story is the final objective, you can just play out one character's role anyway you desire for over 100 years of in game time before the game ends on you. This game will offer lots of playing time, and is likely worth the 800 points. Hope this helps anyone thinking about making the purchase today.

What was wrong with the emulation of Majora's Mask on the gamecube Zelda compliation? I only played that version and never played the origional N64 version. I didn't notice anything wrong with the game while playing it.

CuzinMike commented on Secret of Mana:

Great Review Corbie, it really captured the essence of the game, along with Chipmunk's additions to its gameplay aspects. I've definately played this game one too many times but i've never gotten tired of it.

@Jogurt the Yogurt : Was this the first squaresoft game to introduce moogles??? They've seem to become commonplace after this, i.e. FF3 (VI).
@Shiryu: I'd love to imagine what this game could've been like if they released it in its entirety. I know certain parts of the script and character background could've been further elaborated on.

Its funny after playing Ys Book I and II, the one boss looks just like the Mantis boss of Mana!

CuzinMike commented on Secret of Mana:

Didn't they cut out a large portion of the original story to this game and cd quality music when super-nintendo CD failed? I wonder if that means that while we'll get the snes port on the VC, perhaps Nintendo will remake this game as it should have been for the DS. If that happens then i'd def invest in a DS. Imagine multiplayer co-op on different DS's?!

CuzinMike commented on Japanese Virtual Console list - September 2008:

Secret of Mana is def in my top 3 rpg of all time list but it being released is almost too good to be true. Remember we're still waiting for Castlevania: Rondo of Blood after that was released in Japan back in April. Still I'll be anxiously awaiting news that this is getting a release here in the US.

CuzinMike commented on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a...:

I'll read the game info for the add ons.
Dungeon Pack adds 11 dungeons to the game; clearing these raises the limit on weapon, armor, item shops, taverns, parks, gaming halls and houses.
Triple Race Pack adds dungeons which after completing allow you to build the Lilty Hut, Selkie Den and Yuke Shack, which in turn adds warriors, thieves, and mages (You can only purchase this Triple Pack if you didn't purchase the individual Lilty, Selkie, & Yuke Add Ons)
Luxurious House adds 3 dungeons which after clearing alows you to build these houses which greatly increases you income
Sacred Shrine adds 3 dungeons which after clearing allows you to build shrines which temporarily boost adventure stats.
The 2 Outfit add ons are just costume changes.
I just purchased the Dungeon Pack, Triple Pack, and Lux House and it says that the features can be carried over to new games once unlocked, I'm not sure if that means the features wont carry over to previous saved games or not.
I've played the game for 30 minutes...the first 2 days of the game are basically tutorials. Game play is simple, you just run and and talk to ppl, send ppl out to explore dungeons and they come back w/ experience and resources for you to build more. It costs money to send them out to explore and to commission additional explorers, you get money each day from daily taxes. I didn't notice any camera issues or any other problems. Good luck to whoever purchases this game.

Since I only had phantasy star 3 growing up, i always enjoyed it despite all of its flaws. If you compare it to the 2nd of 4th game you're obsivously gonna be disappointed. But if your an RPG fan then its worth getting to tide you over till others come out.

CuzinMike commented on Will Sega CD Support Ever Come To The Virtual ...:

I loved the Sega CD. Sol Feace, Silphead, and Robo Aleste were awsum shooters.
I really enjoyed the Full Motion Video games despite their graininess in video quality; Tom Cat Alley, Ground Zero Texs and most importantly NIGHT TRAP!
Lunar 1 and 2 rivaled Final Fantasy in terms of plot and characters.
Finally, Echo the Dolphin 1 and 2's soundtracks made me keep playing the games despite their flaws in gameplay controls; simply an unforgetable soundtrack.

CuzinMike commented on Top 10 RPGs We Want To Come To The Virtual Con...:

I will continue to advocate for Crystalis (NES) to be released on the VC. I loved its gameplay and music. Its published by SNK so I don't understand the what's keeping it from being released.
Lunar Silver Star and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue (Sega CD) were also fantastic tradtional RPGs with a great story, character development, and soundtrack. The script was hillarious on the Sega CD, but some of the funnier lines said by the characters were unfortunately changed in the Playstation re-releases.
I'd also love to see Ultima 3: Exodus (NES) released on the VC only b/c i could never beat the game.
Finally, while I know we won't be seeing any SquareSoft/Enix releases, I still have to praise Secret of Mana (SNES) as being one of the best rpg's ever and should definately be in this list's top 3.
Here's to wishing for some Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior games!

I remember cursing at this game b/c I borrowed it w/o that special invitation to give you the code to progress to the next chapter...this was way before the internet. So long as you can find that code online, this is a really enjoyable game quite distinct from zelda.
