coren commented on 3DS Reigns in the U.S. for Another Month as Pi...:

The funny thing is, it isn't the fans that have deemed the wiiu inferior , the people that own them actually really like, and the people that are waiting for games actually really like. Its the publishers that deem it inferior, which is ridiculous. If this systems fails, its because of third parties not giving it a chance to succeed.
People aren't dumb.....well I hope not. They see that games are gimped, or missing features and why would they buy those games?
This little system could be amazing, and any version it has can easily be the definitive one simply because of added playability. Not because of visuals, and that's something the publishers don't want. They don't want the system with the lowest processor to win again.
Nintendos presence is a slap in the face to big publishers, because they are constantly reminded that they don't need to pour millions upon millions into development in order to succeed. Nintendo is the proof.
This industry is a joke, every which way you slice it.
Sony-lost 3 billion plus on the ps3 alone and is bleeding money, so much so that they sold two of their buildings to boost revenue.
Microsoft-hasnt made a profit since the inception of the original Xbox, in fact their share holders want them to sell the brand.
Third parties like SE, EA, Capcom spend so much money making games, that selling 3 million copies is considered a failure. They are losing money hand over fist.
Nintendo is actually makingoney, maybe not lime 5 years ago, but they aren't laying people off, or selling assets to make up for a lack of profits.
How long can an industry survive like that?
And here we go again with ps4 and Xbox one, two mega expensive consoles to manufacture, being sold at a loss.....and probably for years at that.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a collapse and I truly believe if that were to happen, Nintendo would be the only one out of the three to stand back up.
But that's just my opinion...so whatever

coren commented on Monster Hunter Frontier Online Coming to Wii U...:

@Henmii yup, that's exactly why people scoff at the wiiu.

Because of a port of a game from 2007. Capcom is doing this to make money, they aren't doing well and this is a cheap way for them to make money in Japan.

As for visuals, the wiiu is capable, look at shadow of the eternals and yeah, Mario kart 8 does look awesome.....thanks for pointing that out.

I donated and got my copy.

I understand what some of you are saying about getting it on steam, but I enjoy sitting on my couch and playing an RPG while I lounge. On top of that, $15 isn't steep whatsoever if it means helping a game get made.

Also, if there indie debs make money and become larger, they will remember the format that helped the and develope ore games for it

coren commented on Nintendo Teases Majora's Mask Remake Again, Again:

it was a worthy follow up I think. As for a remake, sure would be nice, but as others have said, I'm looking forward to new games as opposed to remakes.
the original concept was awesome, like most all the games, it really took that concept and ran with it. But again, I prefer if they spend their time creating new games oppose to sPending time and resources doing remakes.

Final fantasy is a shell of its former self. The last time I really enjoyed a ff was 9 and before that 6.
So, no im not upset that I don't get to run around as an emo Japanese teen with a big sword in what looks to be modern Tokyo.
Man, what happened to the fantasy in final fantasy.
I was more excited for the remake of ff4 on the DS than any of the console games released in the past 15 years

coren commented on First Impressions: The Legend of Zelda: The Wi...:

This is the perfect Zelda to remake. Its old enough to have not been played by a lot of people that own a wiiu, and not old enough to have to reimagine everything from the ground up.
This game is truly beautiful, and with this as well as other wiiu first party games, its showing that it can produce very high quality visuals. That doesn't necessarily matter to me, but it does to a lot of people that are hesitant to jump on board the wiiu because they think its to "current" gen.
I think its safe to say that Nintendo proved that the wiiu is absolutely next gen. It may not be as strong as the comp but I don't think it needs to be if it can run games at true 1080p and 60 fps.

@shinobi88 odd that you're asking me not to address you, when you are the one that started this whole thing.
You keep arguing with me as if I'm debating something with you.
Maybe you'll get it t this time. I am only stating my opinion, thats it. Why can't you just accept that?
You can go on about sales figures all you want, it doesn't change the fact that I was stating my opinion and was not debating whether or not Nintendo needs western developers to support it.
You have pretty much been arguing with yourself this whole time.
I don't even read your posts, I don't need to because I'm not debating anything with you.
The tale of our "argument" has been, I state my opinion, you using facts you got off the internet. I rebut with my opinion, and you again go and search facts and continue to argue. At which point I tell you for the tenth time that just expressing my opinion.
You clearly put more into this than I did.
That's why if you go through my posts you will see that I say " I think " a lot. Because I'm not claiming to be right or factual, just my opinion. How many times do I have to say I'm stating my opinion for you to understand that I'm only stating my opinion?

@shinobi88
No I say they work better on a console.
The lack of a second slider doesn't help.
We're not talking about the ds, we're talking about the 3ds and I'm sorry a genre you like isn't represented but as I said in my original post, "I" don't care for western developers. "I" think they recycle the same ideas over and over.
Those are my opinions, nothing more.
I didn't say it would be a bad idea having more western Dev support, obviously it would, I just don't care for them.

coren commented on Nintendo Confirms That Yarn Yoshi Just Wasn't ...:

Visually speaking, this game from the screens I have seen is beautiful.
As for the mechanics, I can't wait to learn more about it.
While Yoshi isn't a character I love, the games with his namesake tend to be fun.

@shinobi88 yes I'm 10 and 11 and another 8.
And no I'm not. I stated that I don't care about western developers, at no point did I say that you or anyone else should think the way I do. Nor did I try to convince anyone that they should. You on the other hand started this whole " argument", sticking to sales figures and ratings and technicalities. I say ports, you say they aren't. That's fine, but all I said was cod bo2 for vita wasn't well received and for the most part fps don't transition well to handhelds.
You're just being argumentative, instead of just saying " fine, I understand you are just expressing your opinion".
I never once said I speak for anyone other than myself.
Is it ridiculous to suggest that console and handheld games different from each other? That maybe because of this, developers shy away from the platform? Im not saying this is fact and I wouldn't.
So no I'm not arguing. I'm just stating my opinion, all the while not insulting you or being a condescending, which leads me to believe that you are the one that might be underage.
If you really want fps, may I suggest you dust off your vita and start shooting people and let me have my personal preference and opinions.

@shinobi88
I'm not arguing, I'm saying what I want, what I think. You're arguing, you're being condescending because I want something that different than what you want.
And yeah cod bo2 sold well, but that doesn't change the fact that it wasn't very good. So let's litter the 3ds with poor ports of console shooters than? Is that what you're saying?
I have supported this company since I was old enough to play the nes, I have my own tastes and they differ from yours, and you know what, that's fine. You're just being bitter because the type of games I lime are featured on the 3ds and yours don't seem to be.
Console games and handheld games are different for the most part. In most cases they do not transition well over to each other. It just so happens that the modern Western game is more like a block buster movie than a traditional game. While that works for home consoles, that doesn't seem to be the case with handhelds. Look at the vita, it tries to be a home console on the go and that hasn't been a selling point as of yet.

coren commented on Reggie: Publishers Should Create Great Games T...:

MS is crazy. I can't believe the approach they have taken with the Xbox one. I have a 360 but I outright refuse to buy a one. Most of my Xbox titles are used copies and without that I wouldn't have them. The publisher may not have gotten my money on the initial purchase but they did get it with the dlc I bought.
I just can't help but laugh every time I hear or read anything about the one.

@shinobi88
Why are you assuming that I like jrpgs and I don't like shooters? I like shooters, but you have to admit that there is too many of them. I don't know if westerners will like the same games as the Japanese, but we really havent had a chance to see one way or the other.
My problem is, as I said publishers and developers playing it safe and releasing the same type of games, year in year out.
I don't understand why you're as mad as you seem to be, I'm just stating my opinion. Or is that not allowed on the comment boards?

coren commented on Iwata: Japanese Third Parties Investing More I...:

@shinobi88 and that's the reason we get recycled games. Publishers are playing it safe and making games people "want". I tend to think people don't necessarily want these games, its just what's available.
If Japanese third party games come over and sell, it would show these western publishers that different genres work, instead of doing the same thing over and over.
20% of the market share when competing against home consoles is pretty stellar

coren commented on First Impressions: Super Mario 3D World:

I think it looks great and its a return to the mushroom kingdom I'm a 3D Mario on a console. The last one was Mario 64. Since then we have gone on vacation, and to space twice. I'm glad to be back!
Not only that but with the frantic speed, it adds another element that has been missing in 3D Mario's. Mario has always been a fast game, not an exploring type of game we have seen in 3D Mario's. Add the multiplayer and pretty excited.

The more Japanese games the better. As for western titles, meh I couldn't care less. They basically make the same games over and over. Shooters and more shooters. With sports titles thrown in the middle.
I want new ideas, not recycled ones.
