This is great: Dr. Light telling Megaman, that he didn't do this in a while, the Secret of Wily's bank number, and finally the return of the awful covers of the 8Bit era.
Yes, the last level isn't very entertaining, fighting stronger versions of the six main bosses again. Kinda like Megaman. Surprisingly the final boss is quite easy.
I know it was released in Europe. But the first Ninja Gaiden was released in the first Hanabi Festval. Then it was my guess, that Tecmo/Nintendo will release the second one in the next Hanabi Festval. That didn't happen, instead we have got a lot of Shmups.
Has anybody played the european version so far? Does it have the typical borders? This may sound stupid, but I heard on another website, that while it is an Import game there are still the "PAL Issues"? Can anybody confirm this?
It is a good game, a really good game. Also perfect for Shmup beginners, as there are few really difficult parts like the speed section in the final level or the last battle itself. The humor is great too, for example the Bomberman level or the final boss, which is basically a parody of this final boss of Super Star Soldier. It also has a Battle mode, which is mostly the same as the upcoming WiiWare game. But here the two levels (each with their own boss) are a bonus, not the whole game. If you like cute Shmups buy it. I prefer it over Parodius (SNES) and Pop'n Twinbee.
The borders are even worse in most NES games because much of the screen is already taken up by informations like points, health and so on. In the end this makes the main game really small. The Hanabi edition of Ninja Gaiden was an huge improvement over all other NES games I had seen so far. Why can't they all be like that? Why?
I'm also disappointed. The graphics and animations are great but the controll is overly complicated, the difficulty is EVIL and the game is just not as entertaining as Gunstar Heroes.
Nintendo also had send mails with the coming Hanabi games: Gley Lancer, Cho Aniki, Puyo Puyo 2, Star Parodier and... Digital Champ and Break In. "and more" = Digital Champ and Break In?
That is bad... I'm not talking about Damo that is great. No, the last time Nintendo also did show every game in a similar mail. If this is true, then there will be no DoReMi or Rondo of Blood.
There will be more imports in the next weeks. Nintendo said in the Wii-Shop-Channel that the Hanabi Fesival returns and it will last for some weeks. So we still could get DoReMi or Rondo of Blood...
This is, in my opinion, the BEST 8-Bit Megaman game, even better than Megaman 3. And it certainly not that difficult, for a game on the NES and around Megaman anyway.
Hmpf. Like most PAL Mega Drive Games the borders are huge!!! Sega should really try to reduce that, comparing this to the Sega Mega Drive Collection is quite sad...
