ChunkyDroid commented on Gaze At This Beautiful Limited Edition Zelda 3...:

I have to ask something before I pre-order this sucker.

My Aussie games will work on it because it's European... right? I know this is true for the Wii but who knows what Ninty might have done with this lol.

It will look fantastic with my Zelda GBASP and Zelda DSLite :D

ChunkyDroid commented on Australia, You Get the Reconfigured Wii Consol...:

@Rated_R_Superstar: I think a lot of the concern would more stem from the fact that if anything were to happen to either the Gamecube or the Wii, it'd be tough to go out and get a new one.

I know trying to get another PS3 with PS2 support was gonna cost me tonnes of money I wasn't willing to spend.

Also, getting progressive scan capable cabling for a Wii is much easier than getting it for a Gamecube.

ChunkyDroid commented on Review: GoldenEye 007 (Nintendo 64):

8? 9? 10?

It doesn't really matter what the score is, read the review. I've gone back and played it on my original N64 and I believe it hasn't held up well at all. It's horribly dated, albeit an almost perfect mission system that should still be applied in shooters today.

Going back and playing it today? I'd give it a 7 if I was reviewing it. An 8 if I was back in high school playing it ;)

ChunkyDroid commented on RE Mercenaries 3D Save Data Will Not Die:

I wonder what kind of battery is inside a 3DS cart? I remember the GBC ones being the same as watch batteries that you could replace if need be. I'd say same case here if anyone's willing to open a cartridge up and have a look.

ChunkyDroid commented on Over 2 Million Players Bought Mario's 25th Ann...:

Limited Edition is more about the time frame it came out in, not the amount that they make. I'm still seeing Super Mario 64 DS on game shelves, this collection won't be out for anywhere near that long.

I am one of the ones who bought it, and I don't regret my purchase. I'm seeing it as a free game with my book and soundtrack, and I plan on keeping it in mint condition

ChunkyDroid commented on 3DSWare File Size May Be Bigger Than WiiWare:

It's funny about the file restriction limits on WiiWare, for me it means I don't have to eat into my monthly download as much.

Case in point, Megaman 9 is obviously smaller than 40MB, but on the PSN I believe it was some ridiculous size like 120MB. Devs can also get lazy with deleting unused data and such too.

ChunkyDroid commented on Happy Two-Year "Nintendo Life" Anniversary:

Happy Anniversary guys, the time I spent as a staff member was a great experience and I can't thank you guys personally enough for the opportunity you gave me.

This is still the only site I go for for my Nintendo news

ChunkyDroid commented on Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker Both on Merce...:

As it did to me WaveBoy, :D

I especially love...
Barry (handing Jill ammunition, and not a weapon): Take this weapon, it's REAALLLY POWERFUL, it's effective against living things!
Jill: Thanks, Barry, but what about you?
Barry (raising hand, briefly showing Magnum, then quickly drawing back): I HAVE THIS!

"Not on the forums. :3 With regards to what news articles are published, though, the discussion needs to remain on topic and relevant to the article at hand is all, and of course we don't need any links provided — people can google for themselves."

I should however maybe point out that the link is provided in the news source :)

ChunkyDroid commented on Australia Gets 3DS on March 31st for $349:

1) For support. If something goes wrong with an import 3DS, it's that much more of a pain to get the problem fixed

Depending where you get it from, it doesn't have to be, I sent my imported American Wii overseas to get fixed, the money for the shipping was transferred into my bank account upon e-mailing the receipt, and I had it back within two weeks with all my VC/WiiWare available to download again.

It took two months to get my damn L button on my DSi fixed in Australia.

2) To support the company. Yes, you'll save $50 or whatever (after shipping). You're also bringing Nintendo one step closer to pulling out of the market entirely. One or two imports won't hurt Nintendo. If it happened en masse, Nintendo won't be here at all any more.

Given that we're all meant to be Nintendo fans, and given that $350 AU is actually quite reasonable for the console, it's probably a good thing to support the local guys.

Perhaps Nintendo in its entirety for future's sake take region locking out, and support us by giving us an option, it's the only reason I didn't import a PS3, I didn't need to, plus I can access whatever Playstation Store I like.

And yes, I'm a Nintendo fan, so I'll be getting a 3DS without question, and I'll be waiting for the day when a game Nintendo brings out in Japan and the States doesn't come out over here, I can support them by still buying that game.

3) Importing every single game that you want to play is a pain. I'm all against region locking, but I also like to believe people that do import also occasionally buy local. Because it's more convenient and because, again, it supports the local industry. Having to import every single game you want to play encorages every other publisher to also pull out of Australia, and is a pain in the neck when it comes to those nice little impulse purchases that make a retail experience fun.

Which is why I buy half of my DS games over here, I have the opportunity, JB HiFi are often clearing out games I enjoy and I can get them cheap enough and still impulse buy.

ChunkyDroid commented on Australia Gets 3DS on March 31st for $349:

"Should be fun watching the next 100-odd irate Australians misunderstand how expensive it is to even bring a console into the local retail environment."

It's not really the misunderstanding, it's more of a matter of choice. Why on earth would I pay 350 bucks when I could get it for 270 (including shipping) elsewhere?

ChunkyDroid commented on Review: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS):

I would've given it an 8 myself, but I'm a KH fanboy :)

Also I'm one of the few who doesn't mind worlds getting recycled, it wouldn't make sense to have new worlds being infested with heartless, only for Sora NOT to visit those worlds in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Also, for a side story, the licensing of getting new Disney movies in probably wasn't worth it.

ChunkyDroid commented on Shantae Not Coming to Australian DSiWare Next ...:

I'm with Chibi Link, I've imported everything I own (except the PS3, which is region free gamewise) since the days of the Gamecube for this very reason. That, and everywhere else has it cheaper than us :)

Though I will bring to the attention of Chibi Link that it's not up to Nintendo of Australia on what DSiWare/VC/WiiWare gets released over here, Nintendo of Europe handle that. Nintendo of Australia only have control over retail games, which I thought was a retarded decision to release Punch-Out!! Wii only to JB HiFi.

Awesome entry in the series.

Myself and the kids have actually been spending a lot of time on Mario Party 7 for the Gamecube for the past few months, lots of laughs and good times, and a great introduction to introduce the controls of different styles of games to my 4 year old daughter :)

ChunkyDroid commented on There May Never Be Another Smash Bros. as Hard...:

I unlocked all stages and characters and modes without any cheat sites, just unlocked them from simply playing everything it had to offer.

Same with Brawl. All Brawl did was take out the ability to move your shields and no wave dashing, 2 things I never used anyway.

Melee wasn't hardcore, after all my Gamecube saves got deleted, my son unlocked most of everything for me (at age 8) just as long as he knew what was required.
