Nintendo do have a production problem, but can you blame them for trying to play it safe by producing less? Better to make less and manage to sell more of the percentage made, than to make loads and end up with a huge surplus of unsold. As for limited editions, they are supposed to be limited, it's part of the whole idea.

The problem is that scalpers are getting their hands on too much of the supply. It sounds like they, initially at least, had no limit on orders of certain, much desired, items, which was just a bad idea.

Another problem is that eBay isn't enforcing their rules properly. Nintendo needs someone to go search eBay, and start reporting those sellers, as the majority of them tend to be breaking rules.

They should also make it an actual policy to not sell to them intending just to resell, and after adding this to their TOS, try matching the emails of eBay sellers found, with the orders made directly from them. It won't catch very many of them, but it might start sending out a message.

But they also need to accept the initial production runs on certain characters were far too small, and accept they need to make a second run of characters like Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, etc.

while not an interesting bug, I've discovered that sometimes when I get hit by the thief bird, such that I drop rupees, I can manage some kind of double hit on it, that makes it just stuck flying downwards, making it skim along the ground, forever in a single direction, until gets caught in a corner somewhere.
I've managed to repeat it several times.

Man, I've love a RE2 remake. It was the first RE I played, since I didn't get a PS1 till late, as I have always been a Nintendo person, so RE2 on the N64 was my first experience of the series, and I love it.
It does feel like they could do with remaking 2, perhaps 3 as well. Of course, that would probably be too much work. The HD RE4 seemed to be done with a bare minimum of extra work, and the HD RE is mostly using the work that was put into the GC version, from what feels like an age ago.
Capcom seems to have gone off the idea of "all new" remakes these days.
Shame, as if they did what they did for RE for RE2, then I'd buy it for sure.

I think in that cutscene, some shots look worse, some look better, really it's all over the place still.
Also Metal Sonic's beam is now orange?

But to be honest, the only fun way to play this game, is to watch the Game Grumps play it…

Farewell Knuckles Infinite Jump Bug, you will be missed.
If I ever did buy this game, I'd probably turn the updates off.

@TobiasAmaranth Ok, that makes a little more sense… but this is still an odd promotion, not because of the concept of enemies being friends, but because the concept still has next to no connection to McDonalds.

I mean, if someone gave me McDonalds as a peace offering, I'd think they were a cheapskate. Also McDonalds gave me Salmonella once.

@Wischmeyers Doesn't that mean they'd be Just in date now, if they send it the very moment they receive it? Not defending it, just saying.
But the truth is people are always selling item preorders on eBay, I once brought the Masterpiece Megatron on eBay, only to discover it was a preorder that left me hanging on for Months for my item. I did eventually receive it, but yeah, watch out for people who do this…

Erk, that's awful… When I checked last night, the Majora's Mask Edition New 3DS XL was indeed sold out on the UK Nintendo Store, as was the Monster Hunter one…
However they also had awesome deals that had the normal or special edition of the game, bundled with the charger, statue and even a MM N3DSXL Case!
And since I already had eye on the special edition, I cancelled my old preorder and snapped up that deal instead!

If I get the chance, I'll probably take them up on it. If not, then I'll be aiming to get a New XL, if the price is right… it'll be a shame to miss out on the faceplates, but I like a big screen…

How do the New XL screen size compare to the old XL? I remember the review saying that the default wasn't much smaller than the current XL?

I find it odd that this actually works…
Remember the Yoshzilla bug from the 3DS version(not checked if it works in the WiiU version yet)?
Well I discovered that if you take Yoshzilla too big usually that technique, then it KOs him via a ring out because he's too big. Though maybe the fact that the eat move is an attack means it counts as a launch when he bursts out of the egg?

Well I recently replayed the series on my iPad, so I see little reason to buy this version.
I mean, it might be nice to use the mic to shout objections again, but not That bothered.
One thing I would like to know is if the Vase writing part the Extra court case at the end of the first game, works in this version. On the iPad, and Wii too I believe, it is extremely broken to the point I had to skip past it on the iPad …

ChessboardMan commented on Review: Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal (3DS):

I wasn't impressed by the demo either (even though I worked out it included a race level and a tubular level hidden on the World Map), but my biggest issue were the controls which just weren't quite intuitive enough. They just jumbled every move onto the face buttons, which could lead to the wrong button being pressed, instead of moving some inputs to the Very Distinctive shoulder buttons(which are just used to pan the camera…).
The final score was what I was expecting from the state of the Demo, through reading the review makes you expect a higher score.

@sinalefa @BensonUii
Good point, that is a pretty big oversight…
What do you have to say for yourself, NL?

@TheItalianBaptist
Not quite, but it's probably close.
I saw someone do (or rather, start) a lets play of Superman 64, who even managed to get in contact with the lead developer or someone, who seemed to claim that the rings weren't even that big a part of the game, or even that they weren't in the main game at all. I've also heard of, I think from the same lets play, that there's a "Beta" version floating around that, among other things, keeps the rings sections to a practice mode only… maybe they sent the wrong version to the manufacturer? XD

ChessboardMan commented on Review: Tetris Ultimate (3DS):

I remember one version having a Really interesting mode, where one player was at the top, one at the bottom, and clearing lines made the blocks move up or down, depending on who cleared it, the idea being to force your opponent's play area to shrink till they are defeated…

This isn't included, is it?

ChessboardMan commented on Sonic Boom Wii U And 3DS Both Stall Outside Of...:

I tried the Demo for the 3DS version. Feelings like there's a good game there, trying desperately to get out, but the biggest obstacle is the horribly over complicated controls that just felt really intuitive. One big problem is the use of L&R for simply panning the screen, something most people probably wouldn't even touch. If you're just messing up because you're getting buttons confused in anything other than a kind of rythem game, then, quite simply, you've done something wrong with the controls.

… they can't be serious, surely? I mean the problems with this idea are endless, including the fact porting games is not an entirely simple process so it would be a while before it would even arrive, by which time everyone has brought it already.
But why choose to do this for Smash, and not the other Ninny games on the 3DS?
Is Smash just the most hyped game ever, or is it a troll choosing the most ridiculously Nintendo game possible to suggest this for?

Now maybe Nintendo could like… publish the Wii/WiiU Project Zero/FatalFrame games for Western Territories, since they do seem to be heavily involved in the series these days and Koei Tecmo themselves are so unwilling to commit to the series themselves outside of Japan, and the WiiU could do with more exclusives in general in the West?
As I was pretty disappointed that IV never saw a release in the end. I even had a preorder for the game on ShopTo…

@Yorumi I wasn't saying Crunch time is the entire project, and I was just giving a general idea of what can go on during Crunch Time, from personal experience of working at a Video Game Developer.
They actually Were burning game discs at the company I worked at, towards the end of a project, as there can be slight differences between test hardware and actual hardware. The QA team Would be staying Late With the Programmers, so that the software could be tested as soon as the disc was burned(or a new build complied). This is an actual thing that happens. I don't believe I ever said the fixing of bugs wasn't done by programmers, though I did refer to them as Coders, since it is the same thing. A Coder writes code, i.e. The Programming? Occasionally with very Specific bugs you might have a level Designer/gameplay implementer there too, but usually it was the QA team(to test to see if "X" bug is still present in the new build), the Programmers (who will have to have another go if that didn't work, plus they may have a better idea of what is still causing the bug if they see it happen) and the Producers (just to mostly oversee things, and talk to publisher probably)who are there the latest.

ChessboardMan commented on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Announcement Revea...:

@ikki5 wow, someone has obviously never heard of "Crunch" time?
Towards the end of game development, developers and testers will probably be there until midnight, with coders trying to fix "X" bug, then a new build needs to be compiled, then a disc burned with the new build, then a tester has to try to reproduced the bug the coder was trying to fix, then finally the updated build can be sent to the publisher for their testing team, and the developers might be able to go home for the night.
If the bug wasn't fixed though, then they'll have to have a closer look, try to fix it again, and wait for the new build and testing.

The true potential of the WiiU?
Boss Vs mode!
Where the player using the game pad controls a boss character, and environmental hazards!
Or a referee mode, where the player with the Gamepad controls environmental hazards and item spawning!

@KodyDawg well… let me put it like this… see her outfit? That's made out of her hair. Also, when you do powerful special movies, you summon demons, that pretty much become physically embodied via your hair, so the bigger the moves, the bigger the demon, the more hair it uses up, and the less hair there is left for your outfit.

… hopefully that gives an adequate picture.
