Bulby commented on StreetPass Mii Plaza Update Brings New Paid Do...:

I found Streetpass Quest rather disappointing to be honest, there are simply not enough people with 3DSs to make games such as this worth it outside of Japan, and constantly spending coins is just boring. I'm not even considering buying these. Maybe these will be better value when the "Streetpass Stations" that were talked about are introduced, but even then I'd much rather spend my money on a Virtual Console game or something.

And I have to say, something which is essentially a minigame for £4.50? I'm sorry, but that is just greedy.

I would get Luigi U if I had a Wii U and NSMBU, but I do not unfortunately... Might consider Super Little Acorns after I look up some gameplay, and I'll wait for a review on BUGS vs. TANKS.

Then again, I still have Fire Emblem and Luigi's Mansion 2 to finish, I'm getting Monster Hunter tomorrow in the post and Animal Crossing through So Many Games... We'll see :)

Bulby commented on Review: Sonic the Hedgehog (3DS eShop / Game G...:

Just bought the game and played through it, and I can safely say the Game Gear version is better than the Master System version. Some of my minor gripes about the level design of the MS version have been removed (particularly Jungle 2, which no longer kills you if you try to jump on a platform you have already passed). The special stages are changed somewhat, and are better because of it. Noticed a few things that aren't as good (the game is easier, and it was already somewhat easy to begin with, the final boss has been made a lot easier), but overall this is the better game.

Almost makes me want to get Sonic 2 GG to see if they changed the game as much from the MS version when it is inevitably released. ALMOST.

I love this game, its one of the only Sonic games I've played which I actually like (along with Adventure, Colours and Generations). Will definitely be picking this up.

But I fully agree with everything @EarthboundBenjy said, Sonic 2 MS/GG is just a really bad game. Along what he said; no special stages, horrible level design, Tails DIES if you don't get the Chaos Emeralds, the Emeralds are hidden in the most idiotic places. I don't see any redeeming factors with that game.

I honestly didn't mind the motion controls in the Wii version of Returns, which I've been playing lately. All it takes is a small moment of the Wii Remote, haven't missed a jump so far on this current playthough due to them.

Anyway, I am slightly disappointed that it isn't a Metroid or Star Fox game, but the game still looks like a lot of fun and I'll definitely still buy it. Anything Retro makes is pure gold, this is just a very similar vein to what we had before.

The 8-bit Sonic 1 is one of my favourite platformers of all time. Will definitely get even though I already have the Master System version the Wii VC.

Bulby commented on Evidence of a Functional 3DS Flashcard Emerges:

Even though I am a pirate, I do not approve of gaming piracy. I prefer the treasure and rum kind :)

But this is really bad, I hope Nintendo keeps up with firmware updates to block these things, and works on a lawsuit to ban them. These items which allow illegal downloads of current-gen consoles are the single most damaging things to the gaming industry and community, especially to indie devs.

I'm actually hoping Stick of Truth will be announced for the Wii U, but with the THQ history, its very unlikely.

Bulby commented on Orion's Odyssey: A Pattern Blocks Adventure Hi...:

Even though I really want the game, I had to pull my pledge out because of the uncertainties with multiple languages and EU. The developers said that the game is only going to be in English, and I heard stupid EU laws require games to be in multiple languages. It was the type of thing that made it so London Life couldn't be in the EU versions of Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call/Last Specter a few years back. And with the game already been finished and them being a small developer, I don't know if they would be able to translate the game into multiple languages for a European release if this is the case.

Still, if the game does come out in the UK, I'll get it the day it comes out. I just don't want to throw down $10 for something that has so much uncertainty.

I swear I heard about this like over a month ago, its still pretty cool though.

To be honest, these don't look as good as they could of been. I know they have to do 22801 (151 squared) combinations to finish the gen 1 Pokemon, which is a lot of work, but some of them just look plain ugly.

Bulby commented on Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Re...:

I am unable to watch the Nextbox reveal, but I definitley would if I could. Even though I have no interest in Microsoft's consoles, multiplatform games are still going to be annouced, and I like scout out the 'competition'. Wii U and PS4 for me this generation :)

Bulby commented on Nintendo Download: 23rd May (Europe):

I highly reccomend Shadow Wars, especially if you liked Fire Emblem. Its not as good, but it was definitley the best 3DS launch game. There's not as many characters, and a single death results in game over, but its probably the most underappreciated game on the 3DS.

Bulby commented on Rumour: Deadpool Could Be Heading To Wii U:

If this is true, I'm getting a Wii U on June 25th with this game. Can't wait! I don't see many ways ut can make use of the gamepad, but its Deadpool, so its automatically awesome :D

Bulby commented on In Q1 2013 More Money Was Spent On iOS Games T...:

What a pointless comparison. The total amount of iPhones sold versus the number of 3DSs sold is more than 50:1. Of course more money is going to be spend on phone games overall with those ratios. And even just now this website reported that 3DS first party software sales were up by over 50%. All this means is that the mobile games industry is growing. There is little to no effect on dedicated handhelds by smartphones.

Bulby commented on Thomas Was Alone Creator Responds To Nintendo ...:

@LzQuacker Its not affecting me that much or at all, but to the small portion of the 583,085 chuggaaconroy subscribers which are fanboys, this is going to make them think twice about buying a Nintendo game. Is it childish and stupid? Yes, but it is still a possibility.

I just don't see any reason why they are doing this. From the stuff I mentioned in my last post, which makes it seems like they are supporting LPs and basically never claiming on any fan video ever to my knowledge, to making it so Lpers can't make money, it seems they are just doing a big 180.

Bulby commented on Thomas Was Alone Creator Responds To Nintendo ...:

@LzQuacker That's where I don't understand the whole reason why Nintendo is even doing this. Nintendo and YouTube simply haven't cared about LPs for years now. I even saw Nintendo make a Tweet promoting TheRunawayGuys a few months ago, and Nintendo UK even made an official LP channel for Xenoblade when it first came out here. If videos have no negative affects Nintendo, why have they decided to claim on the videos now? All Nintendo is doing is pissing people off and creating bad stigma.

Bulby commented on Nintendo Claiming Ad Revenue On YouTube User-G...:

Did Nintendo have every right to do this? Definitely. Should Nintendo have done this? Definitely not. While the majority of people only do LPs for fun and just gain a bit of money off the side from them, for many of the high profile LPers such as Chuggaaconroy and NintendoCapriSun their dedication to their hobby has earned them the ability to gain a significant amount of money so they can live off it. It may not have been the smartest move from a financial standpoint for them, but Nintendo is essentially making them redundant, simply because of their dedication to them. People care about LPers, and if you take away his ability to make money, people are going to lose trust in you.

Plus, LPs are essentially advertisements for the games, or series, they are playing. 3,575,190 people watched the first episode of Chugga's Mario Galaxy LP, and a portion of the sales of the game were influenced by that video. Nintendo spent no money in the development of that video, and in the end they gained money from it. LPs are free advertising, simple as that. Removing the ability off making money from Nintendo videos for high profile LPers will make them not play their games, and remove free advertisement fro them.

Bulby commented on UK Mainstream Newspaper Declares 3DS The "Best...:

Wasn't it the Sun which reported that the 3DS makes kids blind when playing games in 3D? Yeah, they have no credibility... I don't care what they say, they're just making a u-turn on their opinions to satisfy popular opinion. Even if the 3DS is the best console ever, they're just saying it to sell copys. I hate UK tabloids...

I see no reason to not release DSiWare. There are still millions of DSis out there, and almost all DSiWare is on the eShop anyway. Is a slightly smaller screen really such a problem that you wouldn't buy the game?
