And how many VC games have you downloaded, dragon_rider? Are you putting your money where your mouth is? I'd be willing to bet you and everyone else here would download even more games if they were $1 or $2 cheaper.

I think the prices were ok during the Wii's lifetime, but these games are now a generation older. As a retro gaming enthusiast, I will still buy the games at the prices they are now, but many gamers may not. I mean, you can buy PS1 games on PSN for $5.99 (with a handful of exceptions), which is $.99 more than an NES game on the VC.

Here's hoping Nintendo will implement sales from time to time on VC games.

We've been saying these things for years. Nintendo will never change.

They should have a big presentation to "re-launch" the Wii U. "Hey everyone, we also have a new console!"

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I mean the PS4 and 720 are gonna be the focus this year no matter what, but especially with the Wii U struggling, people may see this as Nintendo giving up. I'm not sure what Nintendo is thinking these days. I hope it works out for them...

@Kellx - Or they could make money from Earthbound NOW and please the fans at the same time. Sounds like a win win to me.

Well, it would at least spark some interest and excitement for the future potential of the VC. At this point I have none whatsoever.

If these games had online play like SSFII Genesis on the Wii VC I would be completely ok with this lineup

I wouldn't want every game available at once, but this is a pretty weak launch. I think even having Mega Man available would have helped.

@aaronsullivan - I invested 6 years being patient waiting for games to trickle out on the Wii VC. I'm not gonna do that again. If Nintendo doesn't have a game I want to play available, I will find another way to play it.

I guess Nintendo just does not want me to buy a Wii U.

Ouch. Has Nintendo completely lost their minds? The Wii had a better VC lineup on launch day!

I always said there were no licensing issues preventing this game from being re-released. Nintendo never officially made a statement about it, so I always treated it as a rumor.

@mario500 - Why would they do that? They want you to buy a Wii U lol. I really believe Nintendo was saving this game as an ace in their sleeve and now they feel that the time is right to release it.

The Wii is a great system, but he does have a point. I think the low sales of the Wii U have really caught Nintendo off guard.

I'm certainly not crying, and I would imagine I will be picking up a Wii U next year. I was really calling out BossBattles when he said something like only intelligent people play the Wii U or something ridiculous like that.

He has made a profit BECAUSE he released it on multiple systems. Had he just released it on WiiWare he might have broken the threshhold (I doubt it though) but he proabably would not have sold anywhere near 100,000 total like he has done.

I post here because I am a Nintendo fan. I can be dissapointed in the Wii U and still be a Nintendo fan. I should mention when I said "other consoles", the Wii is one of them.

So you're saying we should buy gaming consoles that we aren't interested in? Sorry bud, if a console isn't everything I expect and demand, I'm not gonna waste my hard earned money. And currently, the Wii U is not worth the money in my opinion. And believe me, I am having lots of fun gaming on other consoles.

I'll consider getting a Wii U after I see how they are handling the VC this time around.

Just yesterday a woman tried buying The Walking Dead for her Wii and asked if the Zapper would be compatible with it. I had to explain to her that it was for the new Wii U system, not the Wii.

I definately am dissapointed that the original won't come to the VC, but perhaps if the remake sells well they will change their mind. And maybe Disney will be tempted to bring their own self published games to the VC as well. So basically, everyone buy DuckTales!

D4, I love what you are doing with the VC, but can we get something other than a 2D fighter next? Pulstar, Blazing Star, Last Resort, Windjammers, etc.

The AES version (the version on the VC) can go for over $1000. For $9 this is a great value.

I bought Super Turrican 2 and Mega Turrican off the VC. Super Turrican was all I needed and now it's gone. Once again, a notice would have been nice.

A few years ago they had the arcade game at the Pop Century resort at Disney World. I don't know if it's still there, though.

No, they mentioned you will be able to stream PS1, PS2, and PS3 games onto the PS4 rather than play them natively or through emulation.

On one hand, streaming the old games will be better because there won't be any emulation problems. On the other hand, if you don't have a fast enough connection, they will be unplayable.

In the original version, the screen flashes when you hit the walls. This was taken out in the Wii's VC version, can anyone confirm if it is still removed in the Wii U version? I'm not sure if it was taken out due to epilepsy concerns or if the emulation couldn't handle it.
