Hotel Dusk, man.

Male, United States

Hey there. I'm a guy from the East Coast, and I've got seven younger siblings. I like Metal Gear, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Zelda, Animal Crossing, and others. I admire those who can paint and sculpt skilfully, but I certainly don't count myself among that number.

Bragoon commented on Some Western Splatoon Players Would Prefer Not...:

I don't have anything against the option to play on regional servers being added to the current global selection.

However, I'd bet money that most of these people have one of two problems, neither of them related to global servers. One problem would be their own internet connection; I moved shortly after the release of Splatoon, and I went from a shaky internet connection with lots of disconnects and lag to a strong, clear signal that hardly ever gives me a problem. I live on the east coast of the U.S., almost entirely across the world from these folks.

The second problem is the player's skill. Again, I play with a pretty good internet connection, but I've got no fear of any player going into a fight, Japanese or otherwise. There have been lots of times where we get crushed in a fight by Japanese folks, or that we've burned them up. It depends on your teamwork and your own skill.

Sore losers don't just play Call of Duty; some of them play Nintendo, and I'm pretty sure they're part of the reason we don't have voice chat.

Bragoon commented on Review: LBX: Little Battlers eXperience (3DS):

Ahh, I'm so conflicted about this game. I love Custom Robo and I have mourned its absence constantly, but this just... doesn't look the same.

This looks like it feels more like Solatorobo than Custom Robo. I liked Solatorobo quite a bit, but I'm not looking for another game that delivers that same vibe. I'd jump at another Custom Robo game, or even a CR rip-off, but this seems just a little too far removed for my taste, even when delivered by Level-5.

Waiting for EO games to come out hurts my heart. I need my fix!

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to this one quite a bit. EOU was my first EO game, and I liked EO4 even better once I tried that. I thought Morgan was spot-on when he mentioned the improvements on EOU. I wasn't a fan of the story mode characters in EOU, but Bertram especially adds some depth there. Plus the mandatory classes add a little bit of variety, which makes me feel much better about the restriction. The demo plays like a winner, so this one may usurp EO4 as my favorite.

I'm excited for any new EO game, but I'm especially pleased to see the Highlander featured in this one; it's one of my favorite front-line classes, and I wondered whether or not they would keep it in Classic mode.

I'm getting Mewtwo codes already, so I'll pick up Lucas but that's all. I'm not a big fan of the Mii Fighters, so it's not worth the cost to me.

Although if one was a Viewtiful Joe costume like FilmerNgamerR suggested, I'd grab that one in a heartbeat.

I'm going to pre-order this one. I'm more than happy to pay full-price for a high-quality remake, especially with the drastic upgrade in graphics and the story mode.

I don't really mind when Atlus wants to hoist the prices of their games at the beginning; that helps them capture some extra money from those of us (like myself) who want the game badly enough to get it day one. Most of the time, their games just sit on the shelves for months anyways, sometimes even after the stores drop their prices, so it makes a lot of sense to me that they would want to raise the initial price.

Bragoon commented on News Site Claims That Zelda "Takes A Dim View ...:

Sometimes I'm like "Yeah, I'll post a long, well-thought-out comment", and then I read the other comments and I decide there's enough of that.
I don't take this article seriously. Either the article is a joke, or the man's logic is.

@MegaManEP3 My 3DS system got some water in it, and they did just that - I mailed them my old 3DS, paid them money, and they transferred my eShop account over to a new system. When it got back to me (only a couple of weeks after I mailed it), I was able to re-download my games and all was well.

Bragoon commented on Talking Point: The Uncertain Collectible Futur...:

The addition of Quote in your banner there doesn't really apply since there's a cartridge version of Cave Story.

Regardless, this is an ever-present weight for me, and does restrict some of my digital purchasing. I haven't bought quite a number of Virtual Console games because it's worth the extra money to me to get hard copies. All things are finite, and perhaps cartridges even more so for the foreseeable future, but careful attention to your cartridges and discs greatly increases their shelf lives.

Bragoon commented on Talking Point: Nintendo's Changing the Media G...:

I don't know exactly what this will do to them as far as reaching certain groups of people, but the way I see it, it won't have much effect. The only people I know who watch the E3 presentations are already avid gamers who just expect major announcements, not people who might be thinking about buying stuff.

I like it. I think it's bold.

Wow, lots of comments.
I have no problem with people playing on Casual. I tease my brothers about it, calling it "Weak mode", but I really have no problem with it. If it helps to introduce new people to one of my two favorite franchises, I'm all for it. I play on Classic mode, and as long as the option to play that way is there, I'll be supportive of the series.

Bragoon commented on Iwata Asks Delves Into Animal Crossing: New Leaf:

I'll be adding the Reset Surveillance Center, if only for the novelty. I hardly ever reset, intentionally or otherwise, so it's not a problem for me.

I wonder if your town will be saved on your SD card or on your 3DS? What I mean is that when you do a system transfer, the save data on your eShop games is deleted. You can redownload them, of course, but what if the AC town you've been carefully cultivating for two years suddenly is destroyed? I'm more likely to wear out or break a system than a cartridge, so I'll be taking the hard-copy route.

Bragoon commented on Nintendo Download: 11th April 2013 (North Amer...:

I thought about pre-ordering Shin Megami Tensei for the CD, but I decided not to on account of the fact that SMT isn't really my favorite.
So since I already have Kirby on my 3DS, I'll just go with the Fire Emblem DLC this week. Limit Break, baby!

Bragoon commented on Talking Point: The Download or Disc Dilemma:

I choose digital or retail based entirely on the game. If it's a big-name title that I know I'll play a lot and want to play years from now, like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, or even Smash Bros., I'll buy it retail, because I've always taken very good care of my cartridges and disks. But if it's a game that I'll probably only play occasionally when I'm bored, like Mario Kart 7 or PilotWings Resort, I buy digitally.

Bragoon commented on Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Puzzle Swap Panel G...:

@Zaphod_Beelbebrox The purple pieces can be obtained randomly when you first get a piece of that puzzle, or by getting Streetpass with someone who got one that way or got one from someone else who did. For example, the Luigi's Mansion puzzle comes out, and they give you one random piece to start you off. It could be a purple piece, or it might not be.
