Re: Bayonetta 3 is In Development and is a Switch Exclusive

BinaryFragger

@essiw
"Somehow you guys are all angry about games not coming to the switch"

One thing I've learned from this site is that exclusives are only ok when Nintendo gets them. People here are up in arms for the Secret of Mana remake, Monster Hunter Worlds and Cuphead not coming to Nintendo systems but now that Nintendo is getting an exclusive, it's suddenly a great thing.

Re: The SNES Classic Mini Has Already Hit Two Million Sales Worldwide

BinaryFragger

I was skeptical when Nintendo said they would make significantly more this time and I'm glad to have been wrong. Although they're still not the easiest things to find, they're not THAT hard to get in my area with a little bit of effort and some luck. Bestbuy.ca has had restocks the past three Fridays which is a huge improvement over the NES Classic.

I managed to get three units at launch (Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy) and I sold the extra two units at MSRP to a couple of people who had trouble finding a unit. I also have a EU unit that just arrived from Amazon.fr which looks so much better than the US version.

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Is The Best Rated Game Of All Time

BinaryFragger

I like how everyone is still whining about Jim Sterling's BotW review. He actually said it was a good game that had several flaws but people here can't stand when someone has a different opinion (gotta participate in the groupthink, right?).
He supposedly hates Nintendo yet gave Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 9/10, Pokemon Sun/Moon 8.5/10, Kirby Planet Robobot 9/10, Twilight Princess HD 8.8/10 and Xenoblade Chronicles X 9/10. Heck, he even gave Zelda Tri Force Heroes a 8/10 score.

Re: DOOM Will Be 720p When Docked, And Unsurprisingly There's No 'Motion' Aiming

BinaryFragger

LOL @ the people are calling it a gimped port because it doesn't have gyro controls. The other versions of the game don't have gyro controls, so it's not like they removed anything from the Switch port.

Nintendo is finally getting AAA multiplats but you'll all complain when third-party support is dropped due to poor sales. The cycle of asking for third party games then not buying them will continue.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Direct?

BinaryFragger

AAA third party games on a Nintendo system? On a system that happens to be portable?! I'm hyped!
I've been very critical of Nintendo the past few years but they've been nailing it with the Switch and they genuinely seem to be making a serious effort to fix all the mistakes they made with the Wii U. With all these great games early in the system's life, I can only imagine what its game library will look like after a couple of years.

Re: Lichtspeer Developer Suggests That Nintendo Has Switch Achievements in the Works

BinaryFragger

If this turns out to be true, I can't wait to see the achievement haters suddenly change their minds and act like Nintendo invented them.
I remember when this community used to hate DLC, now it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Paid online gaming, another greedy and evil practice, has become acceptable now that Nintendo does it.

@nhSnork
"If one doesn't care, they're not difficult to ignore."

So true but people here will still argue with you though, saying "but they're still running in the background!"
When I first got my Xbox 360, I didn't care about achievements so I disabled the notifications. I did eventually become interested when my friends bought systems but for about two years, I didn't even know what my gamer score was.

Re: Pokémon Boss Didn't Think Switch Would Be A Success In The Age Of The Smartphone

BinaryFragger

I don't see what the problem is, he admitted he was wrong.

Of course, people are taking it personally and they're are already a few comments calling him names and criticizing the games. They'res always so much excitement when a new Pokemon game is announced but now that an executive said something negative about the Switch, all of the sudden the games are not that good and always the same.

Re: Secret Of Mana Is Getting A 3D Remake, But Guess What Console It's Not Coming To

BinaryFragger

@EDF

That's nothing, did you see this community's reaction when GameFreak didn't bring their platformer to the Wii U? Some truly cringe worthy stuff here:

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/03/tembo_the_badass_elephant_the_game_freak_and_sega_collaboration_is_sadly_skipping_wii_u

It's just a business decision yet people take it as a personal insult when a game doesn't come to Nintendo platforms. I don't know if I should laugh at or worry about these people.

@argh4430
"having more than one system is more important than ever if you don't game on PC."

Bingo!
If you only own one console, you'll miss out on certain games. It's nothing new either, because I remember missing out on Sega exclusives as a kid because I only owned Nintendo consoles. I also didn't scream and call for the company's bankruptcy like the people here when my console didn't get a game I wanted.

Re: Secret Of Mana Is Getting A 3D Remake, But Guess What Console It's Not Coming To

BinaryFragger

@MegaTen

I agree that people are taking it way too personally. I can understand being disappointed but people are losing their minds and calling for SquareEnix's bankruptcy. Wow... just wow. All because they can't get a 20 year old game on the Switch.
The funny thing is, this community was mocking the people who wanted Bayonetta 2 on PS and Xbox. Now its their turn to miss out, they cry bloody murder.

Re: Secret Of Mana Is Getting A 3D Remake, But Guess What Console It's Not Coming To

BinaryFragger

I came here hoping to see childish and salty comments, and hoo boy, this community did not disappoint!
Square Enix has released numerous Dragon Quest games on Nintendo platforms over the past few years (including the upcoming DQ11 and DQHeroes II) and the moment they announce a game for a rival console, they're traitors and people wish that they go bankrupt. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe last year's Adventures of Mana sold well on the Vita? Although the system sold poorly, it does have a high attach rate. Besides, Secret of Mana is already available for the Switch.
Third-parties just can't win here. When they announce Switch games, the same "another port!?!" and "I buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games" appear yet when their games don't come to Switch, they're backstabbers and need to go bankrupt.
With the type of behavior displayed here, no wonder Nintendo treats its fans like children.

Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing

BinaryFragger

I love how the Nintendo defenders are calling us entitled and whiners for not being able to give Nintendo our hard-earned money for something that is, quite frankly, not needed.
Sure, it's just a piece of plastic loaded with old games yet somehow were the bad guys when Nintendo makes us jump through hoops to give them our money. I guess Nintendo is never wrong.

Oh, and those saying that they're are more important things to complain about, how about you complaining about anonymous people online? You criticize us for being upset about not being able to buy a piece of plastic while all you do is complain about the complainers.

Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing

BinaryFragger

Yesterday morning, Best Buy Canada tweeted that stock would be available at 10am PST. Although I was there on time, I didn't get one because they sold out instantly.
I can't really say I'm surprised because this always happens with Nintendo products. They keep saying they underestimate the demand but this ALWAYS happens. It happened with the Wii, Wii Fit, amiibo, NES Classic, Black Friday New 3DS, and the Switch (although to be fair, they do seem to be trying with the Switch). Heck, even the Wii U was hard to find at launch. They'res absolutely no way that they're not doing in on purpose, and considering that we're constantly talking about Nintendo's sold out products, I guess it's working to a certain extent.

People defended the NES Classic's limited quantities by saying "plug and play consoles usually sell poorly" and "they're not very profitable" but one of Nintendo's greatest assets is nostalgia. People absolutely love their old consoles, even to this day. Nintendo could sell millions of these but they're insisting on using the Cartmanland strategy. "We have this cool product and you can't have one!"

Re: Editorial: Is This a Golden Era of Gaming? Absolutely

BinaryFragger

Even though the Switch is already one of my favourite consoles of all time (I've been wanting console-quality games on the go for years), I don't think this is the golden age of gaming. Games are constantly being released in a broken state, game publishers are nickel and diming us (even Nintendo is doing this now) and aside from Zelda BotW, they're haven't been many recent games that blew my mind.
Personally, 2007 remains my favourite year in gaming with so many great releases, such as Etrian Odyssey, Rune Factory, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Crackdown, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Dirt, BioShock, etc.
