@Blastoise-san: I've had no problems using Game Sync, although they did have a maintenance period last night, I think, and often it seems like only the first attempt at syncing works (after I turn on the game), then when the game attempts to sync if I save, the server is 'busy.'

@Ibrahim77: Well, let's be fair - it is helping to pay the costs of server upkeep/bandwidth, and to help ensure your Pokemon will be transferable to later games/generations. Same with Flipnote's servers, if they ever make it available outside Japan.
Is it annoying that you no longer have an in-game way to transfer, and have to pay a (very minimal) $5/year charge for the service? Sure. But you've still generally had to pay for another DS and the games, so it hasn't exactly been free. And if the transfer allows for bulk transfers, as opposed to 1-6 Pokemon at a time... even better.

@BulbasaurusRex: It fixed the problem of the missing Guy. ^_^ That was probably the complaint I remember hearing the most about the Final Fight port - being unable to play as Guy.

Now, I know Final Fight Guy was probably put together really quickly and easily... swap Cody's character files for Guy's (more than likely created for the original version) files, make a few small yet inexplicable modifications (lock the options menu behind a button code), recompile, playtest, release. It still was an attempt to address something people didn't like about the original SNES release, though.

@Damo: Actually, what I meant (I really should stop making posts just minutes before I leave the house :D) was that the quote could be interpreted as saying Capcom didn't bother doing anything to 'fix' the problems until the sequel. (Not that they could go back and hand everyone a patch to an SNES game, but still. :P)

Huh. Final Fight 2 was probably the first import Super Famicom game I ever played on my SNES, not too long after the game's release. Now all they need to do is make a new Final Fight game, and bring Maki back with her moves from Capcom vs. SNK 2. :)

"Capcom sought to rectify these shortcomings in the SNES-exclusive sequel, but sadly the end result is rather less appealing than its forerunner."

Actually, there was a limited-edition (only available for rent at Blockbuster, and not sold in retail?) version of Final Fight, named "Final Fight Guy," which had Guy in Cody's place (you could only select Haggar and Guy). It still didn't have two-player co-op, though.

Yeah, I have a few of these... don't know why. :) But now, I'm going to have to go see if I can find them in storage. I know I have at least the MM one, Ninja Gaiden, Blaster Master...

...and I didn't remember the writing from any of them, until this article. Maybe I just intentionally blocked it from my memory. ^_^

@SirQuincealot - Maybe, but it's probably going to be some time before we get MH4. :(

@Ralizah - Actually, the demo can't use the CPP. More people would have probably liked it if it did, considering the demo somewhat drops players into the deep end of the pool.
That said, I've had no problems playing the game without a CPP. :)

"if you stick these things on a phone meanwhile, then you clearly need to pick up a gaming device with proper physical controls."
So, how cheap are these? Regardless, I still figure it won't be long before we start to see people carrying around phones with these things stuck on the screen (assuming they'll work with phones, anyway...).
