300 characters or less? George R. R. Martin didn't settle for that stuff, and neither will I! Consequently, the rest of this section will consist of the words "THE HEROES THE HEROES THE HEROES AND VILLAINS" spammed continuously until the cap is reached. Wait, I ran out of space already? CURSE YOU...

Eh, it's a solid 2D installment with some great new ideas that were never picked up again. The story is completely okay, and with a little more development it might've been more than just another sword and plot coupon hallway deal. Vaati is pretty much one of the dullest villains of all time.

Never liked Super Circuit. People say they get physically ill from Super Mario Kart, well it ain't got nothing on Super Circuit, which shoves ugly color palettes into the mix as well. Tracks are forgettable, the music's generic, and it fails to innovate much at all. Controls are even more sluggish and awkward than MK64.

It just plain ain't my bag.

Well, it's hard to take this as anything but either a guy's opinion, which he's entitled to, or rocking the boat to make people remember that "Hey, that guy existed!"

But I will say this... if he's referring to that Japanese version of SMB with the improved color palette and different controls, I can't help but slightly agree. That's pretty much slow and unplayable compared to the original. It seems to share these physics with the All-Stars SNES version as well.

Well, I can't really speak for others, but I've gotta warn people not to get too wrapped up in the story. Because if you think Lost wrapped stuff up in a contrived, puzzling and deeply unsatisfying manner, you ain't seen nothing yet. If we're judging it simply as a game though, 8/10 is something I definitely agree with, in lieu of a decimal-based rating system. Not quite an 8 in my book.

Being a devout fan of pacifist runs, I've gotta say it's the best implementation of such a system as I've ever seen in an indie game, and it more than makes a strong case for itself viewed against other titles, too.

Congrats, 'tendo, only took you 'round about thirty years! It's gonna take a while to shake that obtuse enforced family-friendliness reputation, and some people are never going to let it go, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Aww, much nostalgia here to be sure, but it belies a significantly flawed game whose difficulty is more often tied to unfair, rather than challenging level design. It's weird to see there are still people who think the DKC series' most efficacious property are the graphics, but in the case of the first game, they do sort of have a point.

DKC2 has it beat in every which way.

...Well, it wasn't any less shallow and uninformative than the actual Sega ads, but on the other hand, it wasn't exactly more either. Sweet to see a kid and his dad enjoying video games together though, dude must have had a pretty sweet childhood. RIP dad of whoever this guy is.
