300 characters or less? George R. R. Martin didn't settle for that stuff, and neither will I! Consequently, the rest of this section will consist of the words "THE HEROES THE HEROES THE HEROES AND VILLAINS" spammed continuously until the cap is reached. Wait, I ran out of space already? CURSE YOU...

Well, I can't really speak for others, but I've gotta warn people not to get too wrapped up in the story. Because if you think Lost wrapped stuff up in a contrived, puzzling and deeply unsatisfying manner, you ain't seen nothing yet. If we're judging it simply as a game though, 8/10 is something I definitely agree with, in lieu of a decimal-based rating system. Not quite an 8 in my book.

Being a devout fan of pacifist runs, I've gotta say it's the best implementation of such a system as I've ever seen in an indie game, and it more than makes a strong case for itself viewed against other titles, too.

Congrats, 'tendo, only took you 'round about thirty years! It's gonna take a while to shake that obtuse enforced family-friendliness reputation, and some people are never going to let it go, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Aww, much nostalgia here to be sure, but it belies a significantly flawed game whose difficulty is more often tied to unfair, rather than challenging level design. It's weird to see there are still people who think the DKC series' most efficacious property are the graphics, but in the case of the first game, they do sort of have a point.

DKC2 has it beat in every which way.

...Well, it wasn't any less shallow and uninformative than the actual Sega ads, but on the other hand, it wasn't exactly more either. Sweet to see a kid and his dad enjoying video games together though, dude must have had a pretty sweet childhood. RIP dad of whoever this guy is.

Well, as much as I want the New 3DS, I can wait 'till next summer when it's bound to have been released. Probably not going to miss out on more than a few exclusives.

Now that my experiment of duct-taping a PSX to a PS3 has failed, my money is going to a legit PS4 within the next 6 months.

Oof, that horrible choral music! Bad flashbacks to The Snowman right here. I just played Smiles and Tears from another YouTube tab, it worked a lot better. Dig the actual animation though, and the sheer number of references is astounding.

...That mini-game. It's about as unsettling as a legit horror game. Silent Hill stuff here, bro. Mostly because it takes me back to the halcyon years of playing games after dark only to duck under the covers in a picosecond at the sound of the merest of footsteps.

AK-1138 commented on Review: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (3DS):

A good, objective review. And since multiplayer is about as important to me as a gamer as a picture of oxygen is to a drowning man, the few criticisms are borderline inconsequential.

...Still, not big enough a fan of Smash Bros. in general to buy it right off. I'll probably wait about a month or so. November's a pretty empty month for me. Hopefully some good deals will spring up before that time.

Where do these guys get off, not only ripping off a game's gameplay and aesthetics, but stealing the name and insinuating themselves into the canon? I'm all for creative fan-made content unhampered by close-minded, money-hungry executives, but if these guys had a shred of ethics and decency they'd change the name.

I hope they receive their cease and desist letters on launch day. Danced we in joys and triumphs, and fed the manfools to their devourings for our thanks.

I'm digging it. While the original 3DS design is the most aesthetically pleasing, it's full of design flaws, not the least of which is the dumb "bottom screen making tears in the upper screen" crap.

My original is due for a replacement, anyway. Had it not been for this new model, however, I probably would have never gotten the original line XL to replace it. It looks too much like a toy for my liking. The new design is a decent compromise, and the replaceable design plates is a great concept.

I'm just hoping the N3WDS exclusive games will be few and far between; while it's not technically my problem I can certainly sympathize with those "left behind", as it were. And if it turns out to be a thing, I'm hoping it won't be any games that interest me. Luckily, Xeno's not one of them.

My money is ready.

AK-1138 commented on Poll: Which Is The Best Super Mario Platformer?:

Yoshi's Island is one of my favouritest games of all time, but it's not exactly a great example of a Mario-style platformer.

Now, Galaxy 1 was great, but it doesn't have the awesome controller setup of SM64, which I keep returning to annually. If the Galaxies are remade for Wii U for the GamePad or Pro Controller things might easily change.
