Coming to Switch eShop soon
The original SNK arcade brawler
We brought you the news that Over Top is headed to the Neo Geo roster on the Switch eShop only this morning, but now the European eShop's Coming Soon page has been refreshed and we can see that Fatal Fury will be the Neo Geo game for next week. It will cost £6.29 and be available for download on the 20th April; the...
Coming to Switch eShop soon
The lovely folks over at HAMSTER have been treating us to some Neo Geo classics on the Nintendo Switch eShop while we await Nintendo's own reboot of the Virtual Console. One of the lesser known games in the Neo Geo library, called Over Top, will be coming out on 27th April in Europe priced at £6.29 - according to the...
Switch eShop / Neo Geo
As one of the earliest titles for the Neo Geo, Alpha Mission II doesn't exactly dazzle in terms of presentation. Smooth scrolling and some catchy tunes aside, it looks like a relic of the 1980s rather than an example of how SNK's Neo Geo hardware revolutionised the arcade and home console arena in the '90s. However, beyond the...
A Neo Geo game that's not a fighter!
Hamster is launching Alpha Mission II on the Switch eShop this week as part of its ACA Neo Geo range, it has been revealed. Known as ASO II: The Last Guardian in Japan, this 1991 vertically-scrolling shooter was one of the earliest titles for SNK's console, and served as a sequel to the 1985 arcade original. It...
Hamster's not slowing things down when it comes to Neo Geo titles on the Switch eShop, and the next big release is Samurai Shodown IV, which has been confirmed for European release on April 13th. This weapons-based fighter is considered to be one of the best entries in the long-running Samuari Shodown franchise, and Hamster appears to be...
Switch eShop / Neo Geo
Hamster is doing a great job of populating the Nintendo Switch eShop with classic Neo Geo titles but the order of release is a little puzzling. Metal Slug 3 has arrived before the original, and King of Fighters '98 was available at launch, only for King of Fighters '94 to arrive slightly later. Given the refinements that occurred...
Switch owners have already sampled the delights of Metal Slug 3 but this week they'll be able to see where the series began by playing the original game. Hamster has just announced that Metal Slug is coming to the ACA Neo Geo range on Nintendo's console, and as you might expect it will be blessed with all the usual enhancements, such...
Switch eShop / Neo Geo
The Neo Geo was a system blessed with more than its fair share of one-on-one fighters, which is perhaps why Sunsoft felt it was necessary to take a slightly different approach with Waku Waku 7, the sequel to the rather more serious Galaxy Fight, which launched a year beforehand in 1995. This release not only allowed Sunsoft to create...
If you've been enjoying the ACA Neo Geo series from Hamster then you'll be pleased to learn that we're getting another title this week, and it's a doozy. Neo Turf Masters originally launched back in 1996 and, without putting too fine a point on it, is one of the best golf games ever made (in our humble opinion, of course). Its large,...
The Switch doesn't have a Virtual Console of its own just yet, but that hasn't stopped Hamster from releasing a slew of Neo-Geo arcade titles on the system. In the video above we take a look at all seven currently available titles including some shoot-em-ups, some fighting games, and... well, more fighting games.
Could these for heading to the Nintendo Switch?
Japanese company Hamster Corporation has confirmed the next batch of titles in its "ACA Neo Geo" range. The new games are Alpha Mission II, Fatal Fury, Metal Slug, Neo Turf Masters, Samurai Shodown, Sengoku and World Heroes. At t

Run and gun for fun
Capcom's top-down shooter Commando was something of a trendsetter when it arrived in the '80s, and was quickly imitated by a host of clones. The appeal of the concept isn't hard to grasp; you're one guy against many, shooting your way through a series of levels and generally causing as much destruction as possible along the way...
Your system should download it automatically
Last week HAMSTER Corporation promised updates to improve the ACA Neo Geo releases on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Poor colouring and sound synchronisation were key issues that were raised by fans, and the publisher gave itself the target of pushing out updates rather quickly. Those updates have now gone...
Due by next week
The ACA Neo Geo range has been available for around a week on Nintendo Switch in Europe and Japan, with six titles also arriving in this week's update in North America. This 'Arcade Archive' range has also been available on other current consoles, but publisher HAMSTER Corporation has been aware of some issues with the Switch...
The next entry in the 'ACA' Neo Geo series
As eager European Nintendo Switch owners know, the region has been joining Japan in receiving the 'ACA' Neo Geo titles on the eShop. These are 'faithful reproductions' that include some extra features that vary per title - the next up, out on 9th March in Europe, is NAM-1975. Similar to the early listings...
Two of 'em
With the Nintendo Switch system update going live right before midnight launches in Japan, online features have sprung into life. One of these is the eShop, which requires a linked Nintendo Account, and early snooping has proven rather interesting. While 'Recent Releases' is empty, to stop early purchases no doubt, the 'Coming Soon' tab...
And Blaster Master Zero, too
UPDATE: As several you have pointed out, this is part of the "Arcade Archives" range which is listed on Nintendo of America's official site. ORIGINAL STORY: Yesterday Nintendo revealed that the Switch Virtual Console won't be active at launch, with more information on the service coming in the future. However, we may...
The future is now (even more expensive)
The SNES and Mega Drive / Genesis may have dominated the console landscape in the early '90s, but they were by no means the most powerful machines of their era. That distinction goes to SNK's Neo Geo AES, often described as the "Rolls-Royce" of game consoles. It's a good analogy to make, as the machine was...
Say hello to the Starforce Neo
Remember the Starforce Pi? It's an incredible tabletop gaming system based on the Raspberry Pi, and despite a failed Kickstarter campaign is carrying on with a release in the near future. In the meantime however, Marcel J. de Haan - the remarkable one-man-band behind this incredible platform - has created a side...
Send in the lawyers
Yesterday we reported that SNK had retracted its license and demanded an end to the manufacturing and sale of the Neo Geo X, a portable version of the iconic '90s console. We rather thought that'd be the end of the matter, as the IP holder had issued a rather blunt demand — lesson learned, never underestimate the power of...
And just like that, it's gone
Not so long ago we reviewed the Neo Geo X and Mega Pack Volume 1, a potential low cost option for gamers to own a piece of portable hardware that could run games from the iconic system, ideal if a Wii Virtual Console or pricey Neo Geo system aren't handy. While it had its merits, our conclusion reflected some...
The Rolls Royce of games consoles goes portable
Gamers of a certain age will have fond memories of the Neo Geo, even if they didn't get chance to own one all those years ago. Considering the small number of consoles sold, the system had an incredible influence and impact on the gaming scene in the early '90s. Launched at a time when the 16-bit...
Wii Virtual Console / Neo Geo
Third time's the charm
While SNK was far more well known for its one-on-one fighting games, it did toss out a few beat 'em ups along the way. Some of the attempts were better than others: Sengoku 3 is one such example. It basically takes many of the solid gameplay perks of the first two games and amps things up considerably. Toss in a fresh coat of...
In any choice of wood you want
We're big fans of Analogue Interactive's work, having already covered the Wooden Neo Geo CMVS and CMVS Slim. The company's craftmanship is simply second to none, and if you're in the market for a Neo Geo console and have plenty of cash to spare, we cannot recommend them enough. Just on the off-chance that one of the...
Unsheathe your sword
Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge will slice up Wii's Virtual Console next week. The Neo Geo fighter launches on 8th March for the usual 900 Nintendo Points. It's most notable for introducing brothers Kazuki and Sougetsu Kazama, as well as alternative endings based on clearance time and an overhauled combo and Rage system...
Feel the power of flames
Well-respected fighter King of Fighters '97 is the next game to join the Wii's Virtual Console, landing next Thursday. Despite the fact the Western VC hasn't got King of Fighters '96 yet, the next instalment is down for Europe on Thursday 9th February for 900 Nintendo Points. Will you be dropping your points to pick up this snazzy scrapper?
Slice of the action
The Australian classifications board has rated Neo Geo scrapper Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge for Wii's Virtual Console service. Amakusa's Revenge introduced brothers Sogetsu and Kazuki Kazama, an "honorable death" move and even featured fatalities under certain conditions. We've already got Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown II and Samurai Shodown III on Virtual..
A different class of console
When we went hands-on with Analogue Interactive’s amazing 100% walnut consolised MVS a few months back, we were amazed at both the workmanship involved and the mind-blowing retro gaming possibilities. The company managed to break into an extremely niche sector of the console hardware market with a machine that looked...
Ash in your face
Fans of the wooden Neo Geo MVS we featured a few months back might be pleased to know that Analogue has tweaked its design, shaving the machine a little thinner and offering it in ebonised ash. Analogue has also recreated the machine's iconic arcade stick in a nice woody finish too, perfect for times when playing SNK Arcade Classics...
NG:DEV.TEAM has yet more SNK goodness on the way
As you're probably already aware, we love SNK's Neo Geo. For so long a tantalising glimpse of how the other half lived, this powerhouse of a machine remains a status symbol amongst hardcore gamers - despite the fact that it's now possible to enjoy many classic titles from its library for fraction of...
A wooden good 'un
While we're a Nintendo site first and foremost, we obviously don't mind reporting on other sectors of the gaming universe. SNK's Neo Geo system is a particular favourite (just try and prise our resident Neo lover Corbie Dillard away from his beloved cab, we dare you) and when we reported on Analogue Interactive's amazing wooden...
Faux wood effect is for losers
Ever wished your video game console would blend a little more effectively with your IKEA home entertainment unit? Or have you long desired to purchase a Neo Geo system that blows away the competition when it comes to aesthetic appeal? Look no further, friends — the Wooden Neo Geo MVS is here. Produced by Analogue...
The feel of gorgeous hardware is one thing the Virtual Console can't emulate
Thanks to the wonder of the Virtual Console, we've seen a few choice slices of Neo Geo goodness on the Wii. Titles such as Metal Slug, King of Fighters '94, Magical Drop III and Samurai Shodown II are true classics of video gaming history, and when you consider how...
3 new DSiWare titles, but the other services aren't completely ignored
Europe mostly plays catch-up again this week, with three of the five new downloads already being available in North America. DSiWare makes up the bulk of this week's releases, with the other two services only getting one game each, and it's also the only one of the services to get some completely new stuff. We're not exactly..
Catch-up titles and more
There are plenty of ways to ring in the new year in this Nintendo Download update, including a quality WiiWare demo, a couple of NeoGeo titles for virtual console, a portable slot machine and the newest entry in the G.G Series. Will you spend your holiday cash on any of these titles? Virtual Console: Fighter's History...
A little bit more for every service, plus a new demo
With five new games and a demo on offer this week, you'd think that it would be pretty good overall. Unfortunately, only the Virtual Console game and the demo make up most of this week's goodness - The other four are all games North America already got, and none of them were very good. WiiWare:...
Neo Geo puzzler on the way
Neo Geo bubble-popping frenzy Magical Drop II has been available on Japanese Virtual Console for a while now, but it's just received a rating from Australian board the OFLC, indicating a PAL release is within sight. Of course, we're well accustomed to waiting months for rated games to make themselves available on the service, so in the meantime have a look at what you..
Another retro fighter, and more
Thankfully, the wait for another Virtual Console title wasn't long - Surely you managed to get by with just one week of no new retro games? It's accompanied by the first of Gamebridge's GO Series, and five other games. WiiWareFishie Fishie (500pts, DK Games) – The only WiiWare title this week. Fairly similar to certain online flash games, in this, you play as a..
More VC and a bunch of WiiWare and DSiWare
As we reported earlier this week, Europe gets yet another Virtual Console title to continue the streak. It's accompanied by another bunch of catch-up titles on WiiWare and DSiWare of which we've already reviewed all but one. WiiWareFurry Legends (1000pts, Gamelion Studios) – A platformer that's been in development for quite a while. It didn't turn out..
More downloads revealed
We normally get an inkling of the upcoming Nintendo Download releases a few days earlier, but the latest update to the Nintendo Europe website reveals no fewer than five titles on the way this week. Chief amongst these is Neo Geo fighter Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory, another popular outing for Terry Bogard and pals...
Come on SNK! Less fighting, more shooting!
While it's fairly common knowledge that the Neo Geo system sported a rather sizable library of fighting titles, many people don't realise that the system also featured an extremely impressive assortment of shoot 'em up releases as well. In fact, several of these games rank as some of the best shooters of all time among avid fans of the genre. So why is it..
This Hanabi Festival's final game, with some nice things on WiiWare and DSiWare as well.
As previously announced by Nintendo, the Hanabi Festival wasn't over just yet. This week brings us one last import game, and it's quite a highly anticipated one, at that. They could've just left it at that and called it a day, but they've also added a second, non-import Virtual Console game, just to keep the..
The Hanabi Festival kicks off, but sadly not with its most anticipated game.
It seemed quite likely that Nintendo of Europe would be starting the fifth Hanabi Festival with some Castlevania goodness, but as it turns out, this is not the case! At least there's two different import games instead, one of which is another highly recommended title. WiiWare gets the short end of the stick for once with..
It's time to let D4 Enterprises know what games you want to see on the Virtual Console serivce.
The Neo Geo was the Ferrari of video game consoles back when it was first released in 1990 and its sky high $600 price tag put it out of reach of the majority of game fans. But it also represented the first time actual arcade hardware was made available in a home console format. It didn't exactly help..
Sadly, it seems Nintendo of America once again prefers WiiWare this week! You'll only be able to download one new VC game today.
Metal Slug 2 is quite obviously the second game in the Metal Slug series. It improves on everything from the first game - More characters, more weapons, more enemies, more vehicles, better graphics... It's every bit as...
Not many surprises for Europe again this week! It's basically the exact same as the US update last week, with the addition of one more game.
Metal Slug 2 basically just builds on the standard set by the original Metal Slug. If you like rock-hard shooting/platforming action this is the game for you! This time, there's four characters to play as, more weapons, more "Slugs" to ride, more..
American VC gamers hoping for Super Mario RPG today due to its surprise release a few days ago in Europe might feel a little disappointed today as it is not out this week in the USA unfortunately. Worry not, this week is still a stellar update for the Wii Shop as one of our other favourite RPGs is up for grabs, and one of the best 2D brawlers too!
The time has finally come! The Blue Bomber arrives on the US Virtual Console today after paying Europe a visit over a year ago! Accompanying everybody's favourite blue robot is the rather good Neo Geo golf game, Neo Turf Masters.
Mega Man really needs no introduction. After Mario and Zelda he was perhaps the biggest NES icon, and the Mega Man series...
Samurai Shodown II was supposed to be released in the US last Monday, according to SNK. Sadly, this ended up not happening. Europeans, however, are now able to buy SNK's fighter masterpiece on Virtual Console. It is flanked by a cult Commodore 64 game and two Mega Drive games.
Obviously, Samurai Shodown II is the pick of the bunch. We got International Karate +, a fantastic fighter, only two weeks..
Widely seen as one of the defining fighting games of all time, Samurai Shodown II was today confirmed by SNK Playmore as coming to the North American Virtual Console in August - the 4th, to be exact.
That's right - next Monday you could be crossing swords with the best of them! We’ve already seen the sublime Samurai Shodown on Nintendo’s retro download service but the sequel is even better –..
It seems this week is some sort of "arcade week" in Europe, as there are three new games which all have distinct arcadey gameplay. If you don't like karate, painting roads or golf, then this week is not for you!
International Karate + is the extremely popular sequel to the original International Karate. Aside from allowing up to 3 fighters in one battle instead of 2 (Although one of them..
Some people seemed to think that Nintendo would release a big-name title this week on the Virtual Console because of E3 (We ask: Why?). While you are getting a "big-name" title, it's probably not one of the ones you were hoping for.
Donkey Kong 3 is the final entry in the Donkey Kong arcade series, and if you ask us, also the weakest. The game no longer features Mario at all, instead you..
If you were expecting five games spanning a variety of systems today you're unfortunately out of luck. Nintendo has decided to instead give us only two games (Basically meaning we waited two weeks to get just two games), and they're both on the Neo Geo. Just like 2 and 4 weeks ago, there's no new WiiWare games.
Ninja Commando, not to be confused with the also available Ninja Combat, is an overhead..
The pattern which was seemingly established the past weeks has already been broken - The US only gets one new VC game this week again.
King of the Monsters is a wrestling game for the Neo Geo in which you control giant monsters (Obviously inspired by King Kong and such) as they battle to the death on top of cities. Unlike most fighting games you can move in any direction instead of just left and..
The Neo Geo console was a lot like a Rolls-Royce.
It wasn't necessarily that much better than the other consoles on the market at the time, it was just a hell of a lot more expensive. Not only that, but if you managed to somehow survive the $650 price tag the console hit you with, you'd still have to shell out another $200-$300 per game if you...
While Europe seems to be alternating five and zero Virtual Console game weeks, the US seems to have a pattern as well now. That pattern seems to be two VC games one week, then one the next, two after that, etc.
As last week the US got two games, that means this week there's just one. It's Fatal Fury 2 for the Neo Geo. The Fatal Fury series is rather...
After this week, it is rather safe to assume that Nintendo of Europe is indeed following a pattern. There's 5 new VC games to pick from, and like two weeks ago, no WiiWare games.
The top pick might be argued about, but if you ask us, it's Super Fantasy Zone for the Mega Drive. The game plays pretty much exactly the same as the original Fantasy Zone...
Not too bad of a week for the US today, especially if you couple it up with what was released on WiiWare.
The pick of the bunch is of course Alex Kidd in Miracle World, the first in the Alex Kidd series and arguably the best. The game is rather simple and fun to play, unlike its many sequels which mostly introduced new, not so good elements which downgraded the experience by quite a margin. The..
The WiiWare push in North America continues, as Nintendo of America is releasing two WiiWare games this week while only giving minimal attention to Virtual Console, by releasing just one game. At least it's a good one!
Samurai Shodown (That's not Showdown, a mistake a lot of people make) was one of the first fighting games where characters used...
After last week's VC disaster, we assume everybody was hoping Nintendo would release an extra large amount of new games this week as some sort of apology. Well, they have chosen to do exactly that, as there's five new games now available!
Last Ninja 2: Back with a Vengeance is quite similar to the first game (also on VC), featuring the same isometric gameplay with fighting and puzzles to solve..
This week isn't very interesting for the US Virtual Console, sadly. It is suggested that this week you take a look at WiiWare instead.
The only VC release this week is Ninja Combat for the Neo Geo. After seeing the success of games like Final Fight and Streets of Rage, Alpha Denshi decided to attempt a beat 'em up themselves. While graphics-wise the game looks ok (Although the actual animation is..
If you like SNK fighters and N64 puzzlers you're in luck today. There's two news games that fall into the former category, and one that falls in the latter. I think you can guess the N64 game!
The top pick this week is Samurai Shodown. Instead of making yet another generic modern-day fighter with special moves, like fireballs and such, they decided to make Samurai Shodown, which does pretty much..
A rather crowded day for the US today - There's two well-known titles, accompanied by two lesser-known ones. One of each of these two sets is a Virtual Console game.
The well-known VC game is of course Metal Slug for the Neo Geo. As Marco Rossi or Tarma Roving, you have to take on a whole army full of soldiers, tanks, planes, artillery and other machinery. Like in games such as Contra, one hit will..
After last week's relatively good batch of games we honestly expected Nintendo would choose the least interesting upcoming imports to release this week. Thankfully we've been proven wrong - They only chose a single bad one, plus two good ones, and on top of that, we get a non-import game!
Metal Slug needs no introduction amongst most hardcore gamers. The series is basically a wackier version of the..
Neo Geo support hasn’t been brilliant on the Virtual Console up to now but fans of the machine will be pleased to hear that three more titles have been earmarked for release. Predictably they’re all fighting games; as we know full well the Neo-Geo certainly had its fair share of those.
Burning Fight is your typical Final Fight clone, with three...
SNK has published official images of the forthcoming Neo-Geo stick, and the good news is that it looks exactly the same as the original AES joystick we all know and love.
The classic design, first seen with SNK's Neo-Geo home system almost 20 years ago, arguably ranks as one of the most iconic controllers in the history of videogaming. Back in the days of the Megadrive/Genesis, gamers would marvel..
It had to happen. With SNK supporting the Virtual Console and consequently making some of its wonderful 2D fighting games available for download, it was almost inevitable that someone, somewhere would look at producing a more ‘suitable’ control method than is currently offered by the Wiimote, Cube pad and Classic Controller.
Japanese retailer Rakuten has posted information regarding a new..
Two cult classics for the US today. First is StarTropics, the first in an (unfortunately) dead Nintendo series which spanned only two games. The game borrows heavily from Zelda, but is a lot more light-hearted and, according to quite a few people, more fun. The original game required a letter which came packed with the game in order to progress at one point - If anybody who played the game on NES can download it on VC and see for us how they fixed this, it would be appreciated.
King of Fighters fans in the US can FINALLY stop moaning abo..
The US plays catchup today, as they get three games Europe's already had a while. All of them are good, though, so hopefully no complaining this time!
Leading the pack is Treasure's Genesis RPG, Light Crusader. This is to this day probably Treasure's only Western game, featuring almost no obvious Japanese influence. It's also usually named as one of Treasure's worse games, but that's a bit wrong,..
Of all the machines covered by the Virtual Console service, the Neo Geo is easily the most coveted and unattainable.
Never before had a console screamed 'elite'; when it was first released it comfortably outstripped the performance of rival machines and made good on SNK's promise that you could have an arcade in your living room. Then again, there was a reason the company could make this proud..
After already releasing Pokemon Snap earlier in the week, some people wondered whether Nintendo would release games at the normal time as well. Thankfully they did - And they included one of the greatest NES games in the update as well! Mega Man 2 is usually called the best classic Mega Man series game ever made (With heavy competition from Mega Man 3 - Which I personally find better). It's the only Mega Man game with an easier mode (Making it perfect for series newcomers), it's got an absolutely amazing soundtrack for the time, it's slightly less linear, and it's just plain fun! If you've never played it, do yourself a favour and do so now!
The first Pokemon game hits VC in the US today! It's the strange but fun Pokemon Snap for Nintendo 64, where instead of capturing Pokemon in Pokeballs, you capture them on film. The game itself is good fun, but as an overall package it is a bit lacking. Still, if you're a Pokemon fan, better make do with this, because this will most likely be one of extremely few Pokemon titles to come to VC (We think the only other one will be Pokemon Puzzle League). Another thing worth considering is that this version of Pokemon Snap has a VC-exclusive feature!
Two games again for Europe today. If you'd like to go through Wonder Boy in Monster World again with different music, or if you like baseball, you're right at home. Otherwise, tough luck! Baseball Stars 2 is one of the finest games ever made based on the sport, with over the top animations and gameplay. Characters fight each other, break their bats in frustration and more! It's presented in such a ridiculously cool style that everybody who plays it will get a smile on their face.
We're not sure why Hudson chose to release The Dynastic Hero though. It is literally the..
Only two games for Europe this week, but who cares? Both of them are fantastic games, each with their own cult following! First off, we have The King of Fighters '94, the first in a long, long SNK fighting series, which has yearly installments (It's still going!). The series combines characters and stages from various SNK series into one massive game, which provides tons and tons of entertainment. There's a reason it's loved by so much people!
Second this week, it's Taito's classic arcade game, Bubble Bobble! As Bub and Bob your objective is to trap enemies in bubbles and then pop them to defeat them. Sou..
Only one exciting VC game for the US today, but it doesn't matter too much - Super Mario Galaxy is out in the US today!
This week's great game is Axelay. One of the SNES's finest shmups (And one of the most loved ones of all time!). It has very unique 3D-esque effects which give it a unique style almost no other game has copied. This one's worth checking out if you like the genre! Whether you like..
Thankfully, Europe didn't have to wait long to get Super Mario Bros. 3 after America got it earlier this week. This game needs no introduction. It's easily one of the best games ever made (And according to many, THE best game ever made). If you haven't ever played it, you honestly have no idea what you're missing. Shame on you!
The other two games this week aren't so hot. First up is Power Golf for..
Less Sega games than normal in this month's Sega week - only two, instead of three. But one of them is fantastic, and there's two other games as well, so there's no reason to complain! Or is there?
The top pick is Treasure's awesome run 'n gun game for the Mega Drive, Alien Soldier. It's a bit like the also available Gunstar Heroes, but ever so slightly slower paced, with less cannon fodder and..
Two sequels and a standalone game today, the highlight of the bunch being the standalone one - Magician Lord. This is a great arcade-style platformer (And thus also the first non-fighter Neo Geo game) which features some pretty tough challenges. It's certainly not for the less skilled players! One could argue that it is currently the most arcady game on VC, so if you want that quarter-munching feeling of the good old days, this is for you.
To tie in with Halloween this week, the US gets the appropriately themed Castlevania II. While not completely the same as the first Castlevania, it features m..
Instead of the third Neo Geo fighting game, Europe's in for a treat today - You can now download the great platformer action game, Magician Lord! This great game features a fantastic soundtrack, great visuals and fun gameplay, including the ability to shapeshift into different forms.
Second today is what is perhaps the first not so great Nintendo 64 game - Yoshi's Story. While Yoshi fans will no..
A diverse selection for Europe today, as besides a shoot 'em up and a fighter, we get the strange sequel to the original Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. The game is a lot different from the original game, though the influence is still very obvious. Instead of fighting your way through linear levels, you've instead got a large overworld to explore, complete with dungeons and secrets! The game's been criticized a lot over the years, and has even been called "most disappointing sequel of all time", but this is honestly not doing it any justice, as it's a pretty good game. Just don't expect anything similar to the original!
It's fighting time for the US today, as not one, but three Neo Geo games hit VC. And all three are fighters! All three are the first in their respective series.
First up is Fatal Fury. This is pretty much one of the most well-known fighters besides Street Fighter. It has some neat ideas, such as being able to hop into the background and back to the foreground, but it also has some negative points..
The time has come - The first Neo Geo game has hit the European VC! As expected, it's the classic fighter, Fatal Fury. Play as Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard or Joe Higashi and try to avenge yourself on Geese Howard. Neo Geo games cost 900 Wii Points each (As previously stated), due to their great graphic and sound quality.
Joining Fatal Fury are 4 Mega Drive titles, as it's the first update of the..
Neo Geo fans in Japan will finally get the chance to start downloading some classics over the Virtual Console system.
It's been quite a wait, but after the universal excitement that Neo Geo would be coming to VC, Nintendo have announced that the following three games will be available this month in Japan. World Heroes Magician Lord Fatal Fury We'll have to wait alittle longer in the US and..
Here's a massive piece of news for fans of the Virtual Console - Nintendo of Japan have confirmed that Neo Geo games will soon be available for download via the service!
The Neo Geo console was released in the days of the NES and Megadrive, and became famous for expensive but high quality arcade games such as King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Metal Slug, Samuari Shodown and Last Blade. Creators SNK..
