A game comprising of 6 mini/party games on top of the main game which hosts over 90 stages. What more could be packed into Sega's first game on a Nintendo console? Monkeyball is one of them rare games that keeps you up late into the night so that you can just get past that tricky level.
Nice, clean graphics with vibrant colours. Not realistic in anyway, but then isnt supposed to be.. (you are guiding a monkey in a ball around a level, remember
Some levels look great, with wave and reflection effects perfectly simulated. The game runs at an impressive constant 60 frames a second, with no popup or slowdown (that I could notice anyway)
Nice catchy music and cute monkey noises make this great for everyone. I love the sound of your monkeyball bouncing down a stair type stage design at high speed
You control the floor in this game, which may seem odd at first, but after a few plays seems the most natural thing in the world. The perfectly sensitive analogue stick on the gamecube controller proves its worth as you roll and bounce around the levels like a natural.
With 7 different playing styles, all multiplayer, you will not tire of this game quickly. But if you do manage to finish the levels, you have the extra and master levels to unlock (by completing the game without using a continue.. good luck!)
