You are armed with some kind of laser type gun-thing reminiscent of the one in Ghostbusters and you must use this laser to find, target and suck the power out of little electronic blighters. The more electricity you suck from the electronic creatures means the more power your laser will have to lift up objects (which will eventually develop into you needing to lift up huge objects such as cars).
The game begins in a kitchen which is beautifully designed and animated. Everything is coloured in rich blocks of colour bringing back the graphical glory days of classic games such as Micro Machines. While the textures simply consist of gradients or solid colour, it creates for a really quaint but attractive environment to play in. Coupled with the graphics the sound is also very plinky-plonky, which fits hand in hand with the bright textures in order to form what could be one of the most immersive Wii titles.
You control your laser with the movement of the Wiimote, but there are many other actions required for you to master in Elebits. In order to open doors you will need to make a smooth opening motion or to fling open cupboards you will need to swipe your wrist. It is all perfectly mapped to the Wiimote and as the developers get used to developing for the Wii it really shows what can be done with the new controller.
The game pretty much lets you control anything in the environment. You will be able to be “rock and roll” and smash up a TV in order to find some Elebits – or maybe you want to look inside the washing machine. You can do it all – everything in the world is interactive and this is obviously the key element to Elebits. It also ensures that the replay factor will be pretty high, as you will constantly be finding different creatures in different places – and will also take different routes in order to charging your gun. The fact that everything is interactive will also mean that you will have to learn lots of new actions with the Wiimote in order to progress.
Details are a little scarce on Elebits at the present moment but one thing we do know is that the game takes you through a full house searching for Elebits, before sending you into the street as you look for more of the electronic alien-type creatures. The game has the potential to not only be amazingly interactive, but also to be lengthy and immersive. It is a game of hide and seek on a larger scale in a vibrant environment. And to be honest hide and seek always was my favourite playground activity - couple it with lasers and electronic aliens and I think I'm made.

Mmm, I'm really looking forward to this one. It looks like a really good introduction to using the Wii!
