I was wondering when this would happen. It was out on Xbox One and PS4 for a while now. I hope they port the first two games to consoles as well. They're not nearly as iconic as 3D, but they're still a lot of fun.

One of Doom's strengths is the ability to immerse the player as a space marine.

Duke Nukem's strength is being entertained by a definable character that took the best elements of action heroes along with Ash Williams and Roddy Piper.

Both games have solid and comparable gunplay, but their approaches to the playable character are near opposites. Either way, you feel pretty cool after beating a map.

I recently bought this on PS4 for £4. I will buy it on switch for gyro aiming alone (I assume that’s what they mean by motion controls). Especially is there’s a launch discount!

Shame it won't be physical but already own it multiple times. Will be happy to buy again for one of the best shooters of all time. Would love other Duke games on Switch. Even Forever... (yes I liked it).

Funny story. For my 13th birthday I asked for an N64. My mum took me to game and we picked up the console, then she asked what game I wanted. I picked Duke 64. It's obviously rated 18. We get to the counter and the employee looks at my mum and asks "you know this game is rated 18?", she looks at me and repeats the question to me. I, in the calmest of tones "yeah". And she buys them for me.

Getting this game, at half price, and on a Nintendo console after all these years, is a must for me.

Have it on Saturn and it's undoubtedly the FPS this FPS noob has played the most. But for 5 euros I'll happily have it on my Switch. Great release offer.

Anyway, all these "new" contents are as new as 2016, given that this release is available since then on other platforms. For once, more expensive there than on our hybrid. Maybe because of the delay? Some ported collections should learn from this.

By the way, I've been doing some superficial research and it turns out that the first Duke Nukem games, the platform ones, are unavailable right now, after being collected on Steam and Gog and getting erased from those stores a few years ago. A shame.

I'll definitely get this, but i still think it's sad this version does not seem to have splitscreen multiplayer like the N64 version.

I was legit watching LGR's Duke retrospective this morning and daydreaming about this thing coming to Switch! An absolute must buy for me!

It’s nice to see I’m not the only one here who liked Duke Nukem Forever. I really loved all the early levels in that game, it really evoked the feeling of Duke 3D with all the interactive elements, the platforming (which I do like in an FPS) and the unique ideas and variety.

It definitely fell apart in the final dam area, it’s pretty obvious that’s where Gearbox stepped in to get it out the door. It’s a shame they weren’t able to sustain the anarchic variety of the earlier levels.

Never played this one, but I've always had the intention! So will definitely pick it up once it arrives!

Hell yeah.

As cheap as Duke Nukem 3D is (I've just pre-ordered it), I would pay a few times as much to have a physical copy as well, should they decide to release one at some point in the future (though they should probably bundle it with another game to justify such a package, perhaps Bulletstorm or a port of Duke Nukem Forever).

Well, you have to admit, the recent uptick in FPS games for the Switch has been a positive development.

This is a nice alternative to The Last of Us 2, where you have to learn "moral dilemmas" for why you are doing what you are doing. Sometimes we just want to play a game where the point is to shoot the bad guys and not think twice about it.

I played through this on PS4 and it's a great package overall. 9.99 is a nice deal too. Worth picking up for sure unless they botch the porting.

My math ain't that good, but I know that Duke Nukem 3d is not from 2000...

Pass for me, I'm still playing borderlands, got no time. It's a funny game and a call back, but it doesn't hold the value it did way back.

Nice, Duke Nukem 3D has always been my favorite FPS of that era, I always liked it a lot more than Doom. For $5 the price is right.

@imgrowinglegs If you got access to the Megaton Edition that is definitely the better version as it includes all the expansions that are excluded from the newer Anniversary edition. That said the Anniversary edition has some new levels that you won't find anywhere else.

Megaton edition has all of the old expansion packs like Nuclear Winter, Duke it out in DC and Duke in the Caribbean. This newer version does not have them sadly. In my opinion its better, but its also not available any longer. Still World Tour has the original main game, so your not missing that.

@TG16_IS_BAE It controls like garbage (especially on PC), the sound is a bit off, and the abysmal new content is no replacement for how Megaton edition had the old expansions (especially Life's a Beach)

I know megaton edition is better but do people not like the 3d mode in world tour? I love how it no longer has that wierd visual effect when you look up and down

@Sgt-Jack-V I did find the controls a little off, but I just adjusted the analogue stick sensitivity and it felt better. I'll have to check out Megaton as well, then! Don't know how I missed that one.

Bought instantly. Megaton edition had more content and has online multiplayer on pc, but I also like the new episode in this one.

@AmplifyMJ @Moroboshi876 The Saturn version is more of a remake, they used a fully 3d engine with fancy effects, but had to cut down on level complexity to make it work, plus it had fewer level in general. Feels like a very different game.

@Razzy Thanks for the info! Well, back then the Saturn was my main system, I have never been a PC player (due to my parents' misconception that games where the cause of our computers working bad) and I was more than happy with my Duke Nukem 3D.

But now I'm ready to wear it anywhere and with a polished version. Still miss the platform two first entries, though.

Hard to see what’s in this. Many outlets are reading verbatim from the PR so god knows if there is a real new episode OR if it’s the one added for World Tour that was new years ago. But then articles all over the web seem to forget that there’s supposedly a new weapon being added? But they’re ignoring that part.

Sloppy journalisms going on. Not so much here. But nobody else did a good job.

As for duke it’s not for me. Always wanted to like the series but i never enjoyed it beyond the free first shareware episode. in fact never liked any duke game. Have you played the 2D originals? Not fun with a capital Not.

This game has numerous bugs. The first one is it randomly "kills you" by taking you to the restart screen. Also on some levels you get stuck even though you have the access cards. The doors simply will not open or you hear the sound but nothing happens. There needs to be an update quick.
