If you're looking to boost your Nintendo Switch library with a few new titles, why not take a look at these free offerings? As long as you meet the criteria, that is!
Publisher Nakana.io is giving away three of its games available on the Nintendo eShop. You can download them for the wonderful price of £0 / $0 if you already own one of the three (at which point the other two will show a 100% discount on the eShop), or if you already own either Blazing Beaks or Mana Spark.
Here are the three games in question (feel free to click on each game name to learn more):
Lydia
EQQO
Soul Searching
The offer's only available until tomorrow, 30th May at 11:59pm PT in the Americas, and at 11:59pm in your local time zone in Europe/Oceania. If you search for 'Nakana' on the eShop, you'll find all three in no time.
Will you be taking advantage of this deal? Remember, you only need to own one of the five games mentioned to be able to claim Lydia, EQQO and Soul Searching for free.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Thanks to that other event I already own Mana Spark. Seems I'll be adding more games to my collection.
Already bought Lydia a while back when it was on sale for cheap but took the opportunity to grab the other two earlier.
Since Mana Spark is only 89p that is 4 games for that price so not exactly bad value
Seeing as they are being nice enough to give these away for free, maybe just mention in the main article that the DLC packs are all designed to give revenue to charities as well as in-game items (Soul Soothing - UN Refugees Agency, Lydia - Fragile Childhood, Eqqo - WeForest).
@mr_benn
Was just about to write the same thing. It's a really nice way of doing an unobtrusive, choice-led charity campaign.
by the way how effective was the Christmas campaign? i know the best seller page was dominated but did that translate to sales? remember people egging others to buy games they missed to continue the chain which was just insane to me.
@Zenszulu beat me to it! 😁
so... are the three games any good?
Cheers for that, I appreciate it!
@brunojenso I have not played any of these games myself, but here is some information that may help you.
Lydia received an 8/10 score from Nintendo Life, and has a score of 73 on Metacritic.
EQQO received a score of 8/10 from Nintendo Life, and has a score of 68 on Metacritic.
Soul Searching has not yet been reviewed by Nintendo Life, and has not received a Metacritic score. However, a quick search online seems to show generally favorable reviews.
It sounds like all three games are definitely worth trying for free.
That’s so awesome!!! Thanks for telling us about the offer.
Thanks for the heads up! I am interested in EQQO.
Thanks Nintendolife!
Oh nice, I have Mana Spark from the QubicGames event last year (not sure why these are free if you have that game since it's a different publisher, but I'm not complaining). I remember seeing Eqqo on the eShop and thinking it looked cool, and hopefully this offer will generate some sales for the charity DLC for these games.
Downloading all three now. Thank you, NL!
I've been meaning to get Lydia. I had the charity bundle on my wishlist but I guess I'll get the game this way then. EQQO looks like it could be fun. Don't really care for Soul Searching's visual style.
Awesome deal. Thanks for the tip, NL!
Nice surprise today. I bought Mana Spark some time ago, and I’ve been eyeing Eqqo for a while. I love a good puzzle game so here’s hoping I like it.
These are some high quality free titles. As @Daniel36 said, thank you, NL!
Great tip ! I have wanted mana spark for awhile so this is a great way to get those over games which seem to be worth over £10 for all 3 so 4 games for 89p is pretty dammed good !
This were anounced on Switch home screen news yesterday too.
Anyways. The DLC is donations to the developer.
You forgot to mention in the article that if you did their Christmas giveaway, you should already have Mana Spark for free...
Just an FYI, as long as you subscribe to the news channel for your qubic games, you would have received a news article letting you know about these.
Don’t unsubscribe! Especially from Qubic which always gives good deals.
@lemonjellydude Mana Spark is amazing, the other 3 games not so much....
But definitely pick up Mana Spark if you can!
Got mana spark but when i proceed to the eshop, i can't seem to download the games for free.
@Fantasia
I did review the game, if the language barrier doesn't scare you. It has its own faults, mostly a nasty habit to save the progress even after the game puts the player in unwinnable situations. However, Soul Searching is worth a shot for the music alone. Its usage of pixelated graphics is kinda meh given the top-down perspective, but once the existentialist sense of hopelessness the islanders feel starts to click, it suddenly becomes an awfully appropriate aestethic.
Also, eff those dragons you see in the trailer. Seriously.
I already had Mana Spark, so I grabbed all three of these right away. Can't complain about free games, now can we? Although I'm pretty sure some individuals will still find a way, sadly enough.
Either way, the first two looked interesting and refreshingly quirky to me, so I'm happy to have them. The third one looks a bit too much pixel-art inspired, but we'll see.
@ThanosReXXX
The pixel art aestethic isn't the problem. The actual issue I had with the game was its lack of clarity during certain parts of it.
None of those games seem appealing, but I might grab Mana Spark nonetheless.
@ThanosReXXX from which region did you download?
Oh this is cool, i already own Mana Spark (fun game as well) so might as well grab these if they're free.
@AlexSora89 Well, it's not so much that I think that it's a problem, it's just that I'm getting a bit tired of all these "retro-inspired" games.
In the beginning it was new and interesting, and even somewhat of a ring back to the glory days of 8 and 16 bit gaming, but nowadays, these pixel-art games are often much uglier than what they are inspired by. I've played better looking games on the Commodore Amiga, over 30 years ago...
On a side note: perhaps needless to say, but obviously, what it is or isn't, is an individual sentiment.
@RainCloud Europe.
I suppose I have Mana Spark from that 10 days of Christmas give-a-way, and I did see the article on the news feed, and I did get an email from Nitneod saying Eqqo was on sale for $2 from $6 - it's on my wishlist - so I'll probably pick them up later. Eqqo also has $1 DLC that they'll donate profits to trees. Lydia has DLC as well, $5, way way way down at the bottom of the pages.
Now if I can get my kid off the Switch sometime today.

All 3 were free for me to redeem.
@Fantasia Thank you for doing that research - very kind of you
how is this not SHOVELWARE? these games are terrible
and at the very BEST they steal mechanics and concepts from AAA games lmao only BOOMERS stay funding these games i swear to God
Thx for the heads up! Downloaded today.
Mana Spark was 90% off already at 89p! That's 4 games for 89p, 2 of which scored 8/10 on NL. I also had Lydia on my watch list.
Summary - win....
Thanks for the heads up.
Man, that QubicGames promotion back in December is literally becoming the gift that keeps giving (got a free copy of Mana Spark, among many others).
Mana Spark is a good game, worth its perennially low price, but it's a terrible port. The frame rate after the first few levels is shocking, almost Sexy Brutale bad.
I got all of the free QubicGames games previously, and now these, just now. So, good times all around.
Luckily I was in time.
I already had Lydia with the DLC, and Eqqo was on my wishlist. I'll probably get the DLC for the other games sometime too.
Has anyone played Blazing Beaks? That looks like the best one to me, judging by just the trailer.
Thanks for the advice! I wasn't aware of this offer!
As I owned Lydia, I got the two other games for free. Nice!
Dang, can't believe I missed this
I don't have a smartphone for another 2 weeks so missed this. Eqqo would have been nice since I already have Mana Spark. Oh well, I'm sure it's not that great.
My daughter's name is Lydia and that alone has always made me curious about the game. I've been meaning to pick it up (and likely still will at some point), but I'm too deeply entrenched in a couple of lengthy games atm to focus on other stuff.
And the lack of mention of the proceeds going to charity in the article is deeply disappointing.
I didn't even download Soul Searching, it looks awful.
those games look boring as hell. no wonder why they are free
