Have you been waiting for a Minecraft themed Pro Controller for the Nintendo Switch? Well, here's an enhanced wireless one from the accessory manufacturer PowerA. It's due out in the US later this week on 10th April, according to a listing on Amazon, and will be priced at $49.99.
As you can be seen, it resembles a Minecraft grass block and is kind of reminiscent of that limited edition Minecraft Xbox One S released in 2017. According to the listing, it's the same as other PowerA controllers for the Switch and is officially licensed by Nintendo and Mojang, and comes with a two-year limited warranty.
Built for comfort during extended gaming sessions, this Bluetooth 5.0 wireless controller includes motion controls, mappable advanced gaming buttons, and standard ergonomic layout. Enjoy up to 30 hours of gameplay with new alkaline batteries (other variables affect playtime) or add your own rechargeable batteries. Can be used when Nintendo Switch is docked or undocked. Does not support HD rumble, IR, or amiibo NFC.
On a related note, next month on 26th May, Minecraft Dungeons arrives on the Switch and multiple other platforms. Is this the kind of themed controller you've been waiting for? Leave a comment down below.

Reminds me of the Minecraft Xbox
I guess this is just it. Nintendo seems no longer interested in releasing different color controllers anymore, so if we want different ones, we are forced to rely on 3rd parties...
Not that I need any more controllers - just that it baffles me why Nintendo stopped. We got the Splatoon 2 one, the Xenoblade 2 one and the Smash one and then.... nothing. We went all of 2019 without a new pro-controller. No Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, none.
We did get at least a couple joycon colors. Though only asymmetrical sets - which bug me.
Eew. If one is going to settle for a stripped-back PowerA controller, there are plenty of superior designs available (the Pokémon and DOOM varieties immediately spring to mind).
That would look nice next to my creeper Xbox controller
I am not a fan of controllers that, however decorative, miss essential features.
As a longtime Minecraft player, I love this!
@Heavyarms55 I am with you on that. But this is the first console I've ever had issues with Nintendo's 1st party controller though. My left joy con drifts, and the pro controller unexplicably has a terrible d-pad.
I haven't stooped to Power-A yet. But my hori controller is my go to gamepad. Going to try the 8-bitdo SNES pro pad soon. So at least there are some decent options
I don't want to put down anyone who is excited for this controller, everyone is entitled to their opinions/interests... but I just think this controller looks kinda disgusting, especially for $50. I'm not a Minecraft guy, but I feel like they could have done a better job representing the brand. This is just so minimalistic, fare more so than the game already is.
@konbinilife I've not experienced any of the commonly talked about issues with the Switch controllers, no problems with the pro controller's D-pad, nor any joycon drift.
My only issue with the joycons isn't specific to them, but just a general dislike of smaller, shorter joysticks in general. I prefer the full size sticks like the pro controller, or those on the MS or Sony controllers.
I have two 8bitdo controllers, but of which I like, but both of which I have minor issues with. On one, applying too much pressure on the body of the controller actually presses the ZR button, and on the both just because they are 3rd party, they cannot wake the Switch up.
Oeh, that’s not pretty, but then again, I own the Super Mario Bros 3 one and that one is also not that good looking. It’s pretty nostalgic though.
I’m not a big Minecraft fan, but I like the design a lot. It’s minimalist and very cool in my eyes.
No thanks, I learned my lesson with 3rd party peripherals in the 90's and going by my friends experiences, nothing has changed.
I really liked the Power A controller I have... until it broke down... Oh well... Maybe it's bad luck, maybe I've been playing more games than I ever have in all the previous generations... Whatever.
This one looks nice and I really don't care about rumble or amiibo features... So...
I would love a minecraft themed pro controller, just from nintendo instead of power a. Also how come they’re leaving out rumble? i can sorta get IR and NFC being left out but rumble?
@Silly_G lol you just called your opinion superior
I got one of the older models "recently" and i liked the controller but sadly mine was busted out of the box and it kept doing similiar thing to the joycon drift and i had to send it back. Probably thanks to Corona i haven't had the chance to test another because getting stock seems to get delayed and delayed on the shop i ordered it from.
This is Tempting...
