In a new video from Vanity Fair, voice actress Sarah Natochenny talks us through the process of dubbing the Pokémon anime.

If you're a fan of the show, or even if you're just mildly interested in anime or film at all, the video's a pretty fascinating watch. Natochenny provides the voice for lead character Ash Ketchum in the English-language adaptation of the show, and has done since way back in 2006. Above, we get to see her working on a scene from the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime arc while learning about how everything's put together.

As well as the acting itself, the video touches upon how the show and its dialogue are reinterpreted for western culture, the fine-tuning and digital editing that takes place in the studio, and on-the-fly script alteration.

If you're left wanting to watch some of the anime yourself, you can find some episodes available for free on Pokémon's official site, and you'll also find a few of the latest films available to watch on Netflix.

Interesting stuff!
