Famitsu's Japanese chart figures are now in for 9th - 15th March, revealing that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX has slipped down to second place after topping the charts in its opening week.

It's a shame that these stock issues have occurred when such a big system seller in Animal Crossing is releasing. At least they're getting rid of a lot of excess Switch Lite models.
Calm before the Nook Storm.
Expecting a 1+ million retail (1.8-2.0 million retail + digital) launch in Japan.
@BenAV I wonder how much of AC's sales will be digital, due to the virus keeping people at home.
I bet My Hero One's Justice 2 sells better in the Western markets...and they couldnt even bother to dub it smh. Also surprised the PS4 version didn't even chart...wow.
Waiting on my copy of Nioh 2!!!! Animal Crossing is already preloaded.
@Quarth Who knows. It's probably a game that'd have a higher than normal digital:physical ratio even without the virus just due to the nature of the game. I'm sticking with a physical copy personally though.
@BenAV Yeah, me too. Sadly, I'm home being sick (I don't think it's corona, but the recommendation now is to stay home if one is feeling sick), but hopefully my partner can pick it up for me on Friday.
@Quarth Get well soon. At least you'll have Animal Crossing to play soon if you're stuck at home for a while.
@RPGamer Nope...apparently only DBZ and Naruto games are worthy of a simple dub.
@BenAV Thanks! Yeah, I hope so. And I also have my Switch backlog to take care of.
Ouch, those Noih numbers look depressing. Sad to hear it doing so poorly worldwide, the game deserves more fans.
@Bizzyb It's the difference in sales which is most surprising, the first game sold better on Switch as well but the numbers were closer initially before Switchs long tail end for games kicked in.
@RPGamer
That's what happens when they wanna rush out these shonen anime games. Same with the Fairy Tail RPG. No dub despite having a dub cast since forever. They just wanna rush it out so they can make as much money as possible off these "lesser" animes.
Naruto and DBZ are the big dogs of shonen and make the most money because they're the most popular. So it'd upset everyone on earth if they didn't have dual audio so they always take time to translate those two. Everything else can kick rocks as far as they're concerned.
@mesome713 Yeah wish it was higher but digital sales could be good and it has released in a crowded month.
@mesome713 I love Nioh but I'm personally waiting for the PC version whenever that might drop as I don't pay for PS+ anymore but I want to use the online features.
@RPGamer Oh yea I completely forgot about Kill la Kill (and I own the game😂). That's one of the few games they actually did a dub for...and it sounds AMAZING. MHA is clearly the next "big" Shonnen series so it truly saddens me that they cheapened out on the overseas version
I don't think Animal Crossing physical sales will be as high as other major Nintendo releases. If any game is really geared toward a digital purchase, this would be it. PLUS with the virus issues and more people staying home, more people still might choose digital.
It's one of the only titles I've bought digitally when I could have bought it physical.
Preorder data at several Japanese retailers suggests that Animal Crossing may have a bigger launch than Pokemon Sword/Shield.
