Masayuki Uemura – the legend behind such iconic Nintendo hardware as the NES / Famicom, SNES / Super Famicom and Zapper and one of the most important people in the history of the Kyoto company – will be in the UK next week to hold an exclusive talk about his career.
Taking place on Wednesday 26th February at The National Videogame Museum in Sheffield, the discussion will focus on how the former Head of Nintendo’s prestigious R&D2 department designed these massively popular and hugely influential pieces of gaming hardware.
The chat kicks off at 8PM, and the cost of tickets is £30 each. You can purchase tickets here.

Will it be available online?
That should be good.
If i knew about this sooner i would have planned accordingly. Hope it gets streamed / recorded
I would be interested but £30 is a bit steep.
@RickD
Cause the SNES games would be extremely expensive, if all the required chips were on cardridge.
( assuming you arent joking off course)
£30?!
incredulous scoffing
That's like half the price of an early bird 2 day gaming convention ticket.
@RickD as far as I’m aware the super fx chip was in addition to the main cpu which itself of course was still required to power the games...
Guys a legend in my eyes especially for creating the SNES:)
@TheRealKyleHyde yeah sadly feel the same
Awesome! We're always talking about the people who make the games, but never about the equally awesome peeps who build the systems. Thanks for many childhood memories on two of the best systems ever.
I hope this is streamed for those who can’t attend in person.
