If you're ravenous for food-based party games, there's a new item on the Switch eShop menu coming up on 27th February. It's called Served!, it's coming courtesy of LightMaze and rather than putting you in charge of the kitchen it has you running through restaurants and galloping through gourmet gastopubs in a top-down multiplayer racer.

Yes, where games like Overcooked have you working in culinary cooperation, Served! puts you in direct competition with your fellow floor staff as you race around locales littered with people, plates and other obstacles. As you can see in the trailer above, each player also has a weapon at their disposal so there's always the option to give your competitors a sound whacking with a wooden spoon. Here are a few more details from the official blurb:

- 1 to 4 players
- 8 restaurant circuits containing dynamic events
- 4 different stories in a single player mode
- 4 characters with a unique attack
- 3 difficulty levels of AIs
- boost and nervous systems that overturn the race!

The game is also heading to Steam and will be available on the Switch eShop for the princely sum of £5.39 / $5.99. While Served!'s music and art style isn't without a quirky charm, it'll certainly face some stiff Switch party game competition when it is ready for consumption.

In addition to the trailer at the top of the page, French developer Chromatic Room has also put together a video taking you 'into the kitchen' for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game and the thoughts behind it. Grab a free sample at your leisure below:
