It's been another busy week in the world of Nintendo, with the release of more SNES and NES games on the Switch Online service, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate winning an award, and Bravely Default II being announced. With everything going on, you'd be forgiven for forgetting a major update for Super Mario Maker 2 was released last week.
Version 2.0 added the ability to play as Link from The Legend of Zelda series. The hero of time comes equipped with the Master Sword, his trusty bow and a pocketful of bombs. This update also adds more course parts and enemies, and a new Ninji Speedrun mode.
If you haven't found any time just yet to try out the new update, why not watch our American-based video producer Zion Grassl play some of the new custom-made Zelda levels created by the game's community. One is even from the Nintendo Life forums.
Have you tried out the new update for Super Mario Maker 2 yet? What do you think of the levels in the above video? Comment down below.

I wonder if they will eventually let you make your own Donkey Kong levels.
Icy blocks leaving clear instructions for something I'm unfamiliar with?
LETS IGNORE THEM!
Basic level structure meant to guide and teach?
LETS IGNORE THAT!
This guy is not an intelligent person. >.>
Great update! Still no new game modes though, hopefully they plan on supporting this game for years.
This update has bought new life to this game for me, I hope they add other characters it is amazing how just a couple of moves and a sword change up the level design so drastically!
anyone made a full Zelda game yet using this? That would be amazing!
@TobiasAmaranth I wonder why they still let him host Nintendolife video's he's extremely bad at it. I actually stopped watching most of Nintendolife YouTube video's because of him.
I had to just stop watching the video, that was pretty painful, but I'm glad he was having fun.
IGN would have just given up and gave the game a low rating while asking for an easy mode.
I thought it was a good video and really enjoy watching Zion. Not to mention, an NLifer's level was featured in the video. I'd like to see more videos like this from Zion and NL. Guess i forgot to be a gamer you should be good at ALL video games....
@NintendoByNature No, just some more reading comprehension would be nice. That's all I ask for, anyway.
Or just edit out all the failure. To his credit, he skipped a bit ahead but still put a lot of him being stuck with the directions right in front of him.
@NintendoByNature I‘m really glad you had a good time watching it! 😄 I had a lot of fun making it and thought most would understand how I felt as those were all my genuine first playthroughs of those levels. But you can’t win um all! Thanks for the support Nature 😊
@Kalmaro to be honest, my comment wasn't even directed at You, you commented in a respectful way. There's always a good way to get your point across. But heck, I've been there multiple times at a point in a game spending far too long on something only to eventually be like, " wow...how did I miss that?" So it's a normal thing to be honest and he even said, he didnt play as link in Mario Maker prior so he should get a pass.
@Ziondood no problem my man. Keeping making awesome videos. I get stumped on a lot of those Mario Maker zelda levels and even, plenty of actual zelda dungeons ive played multiple times over. And if I can put in a request, more zelda related videos 😉
@Ziondood Don't let my criticisms get you down. What's more important is that you're having fun. I'd just skip a little more where you were stuck if you ever did a recording again but that's just me.
@NintendoByNature Same here! It can be the worst feeling when you realize the answer was there all along 😂 I'll do my best to squeak them in whenever possible!
@Kalmaro I do appreciate the feedback and can understand what you mean. The video was getting a tad on the long end, but I wanted to try and include some of my mistakes to make the video feel more fluid, more real, so people could see the struggles I went through. 😅 I'll keep these comments in mind for next time!
@Ziondood squeak on zion.....squeak on...
Hmmm they said they might do a Zelda maker in the future if the dungeon maker in TOZ LA will be successful.... might be another way of testing the demand....
Zelda maker 2020/2021! It will be awesome!!!!
Fun video to watch, keep up the good work NintendoLife!
