It has today been confirmed that Adam Hunter will be a playable character in the upcoming Streets of Rage 4.
Adam originally starred in the first Streets of Rage but wasn't present in either of its sequels, yet he remains a firm favourite with fans of the franchise. During today's Indie World broadcast, it was confirmed that Hunter would be a playable character alongside his daughter Cherry in the final game, which launches early in 2020.
How do you feel about getting the chance to play as Adam? Let us know with a comment.

Yesssssss! He is the best character!
At least there was this. It looks great. Can't wait to play this.
Adam still looking good while Axel got fat! 😂😂😂
Finally, I no longer have any concerns. Loved Adam.
I love how the first two shots re-confirmed pantyshots and the dominatrix enemy, both elements that some thought might have been cut in order to dodge prudish push-back preemptively.
That’s great, I was thinking that he wouldn’t be playable at all at first. Maybe there’s a chance for Skate and Max to show up.
This is looking better and better all the time, can't wait!
What I want to know is physical or not. And physical the right way, available on stores. Not limited, not strict, not special. Just retail.
I was hoping for this. Brother got shafted after the first game!
This game's just getting better and better. Although I'm going to main Blaze as always, it's great to see Adam back. Still wondering who that last unannounced character will be...
Is it me, or do the characters animations look smoother than past previews. Seems like they've added some frames to smooth out their movements.
Finally! Been waiting for Adam Hunter to return since I played them on my Sega Genesis!
Looking forward to this!
I've not been happy with what I've seen of this game, and I doubt it will be for me. The visual style is not to my taste. One other problem I've had is that I've not really liked the character designs so far, either partially or overall. However, I think the design of Adam works pretty well. They kept him fairly simple, and I think it works better.
Yeeeeah! Adam's back!
Can’t wait for this however I do hope there will be a physical version and like what’s been said no limited runs full retail is the way to go so listen up Sega
Day one buy for sure. May be getting it on Switch and Steam.
Weeeeeahhhhh
Adam is fast. He’s meant to be slow
We need a Streets of Rage collection before 4 comes out.
@shonenjump86 Max was great for tanking through enemies! Can never forget the boxing kangaroo from #3 too
Im so hyped about this game. Streets of rage whas my favourite game back in the days. Played it just as much as Streetfighter, KOF, Fatal Fury, etc.
So yeah i am hyped!
Sweet, I'm super excited for this. Beat 2 so many times right next to my best friend in our youth. Not sure if i ever beat 3 but I played a Ton of it
Dang, I was asking for Max myself!
2 was my favorite... best SFX, best music.
@Torakaka We already got one, it's called the Sega Genesis Classics Collection.
I like where this is going.
I can't wait for this game This was the only announcement I cared about in the Indie showcase lol Looking so good!
Lol green terry bogard power geyser at the end. He looks like he can rush in though.
I still kind of wish that the art style wasn't so "Cell Phone Game", but other than that...
Finally an action-packed daddy-daughter outing. Haggar should have taught Jessica how to fight.
I actually want the dude that was on skates.
I thought: oh sweet, Skate! But I guess it was Adam that people wanted..
@NinChocolate Based on some gameplay I've seen, Cherry inherited some of Skate's moves.
Still waiting for the grown up Skate to be announced. Loved playing as Skate in 2, like everyone else.
I’ll be interested in seeing how many characters it gets on screen in two player on hardest. That was the only way to play the original. If it the screen wasn’t packed to the point of slowdown and flickering, then it’s not hectic enough.
@JuiceMan_V You see, Axel got married and Adam is still single xD
@Torakaka any of the millions of Sega Genesis collections have streets of rage 1,2, & 3 on it. They really don't need an excuse to charge 60 bucks for 3 games
I'm still wondering how Axel and Adam look to be at least 40 years old while Blaze only looks to be around 30.
I thought this was due late 2019? When did it slip to 2020? Great news about Adam, but could have done with this releasing now...
December has been rubbish and the deja vu feeling of "January direct will save us all" has me feeling a bit sick now after 2019's promise eroded into another 2018.
Surely I'm not the only person that has skipped Pokemon and doesn't like Smash Bros?! Where's our winter cheer?!
