NoCloud

Cloud saves for Nintendo Switch games were a long overdue addition but the launch of Nintendo Switch Online finally enabled you to back up your save data online. For a portable system that can be easily dropped, stolen or left on the bus, it was arguably an essential feature that should have been there from the very beginning, but better late than never, huh?

Before this (and currently, if you're not subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online), save data remained tied the console itself (unless you performed a System Transfer to move all your data to a new Switch, of course). Unfortunately, not all games are compatible with the service due to concerns over potential cheating. In this day and age it's curious that there isn't a better solution than to remove the feature entirely, but there's a growing selection of titles which don't support Nintendo Switch Online cloud saves, and it includes some big first-party titles.

Below is a list of all the titles that Nintendo itself states are incompatible with its Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Save feature and can't have their save data backed up in the cloud:

1-2-Switch
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (upcoming)
Blade II - The Return Of Evil
Catan
Dark Souls: Remastered
Dawn of the Breakers
Dungeon Stars
FIFA 18
FIFA 19
Exorder
Fortnite (although an Epic Games account is used to save all game progress across platforms)
Gems of War
Go Vacation
IN-VERT
Lightseekers (although cross-platform saves are supported externally by the developer)
Modern Combat Blackout
Pixel Devil and the Broken Cartridge
Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!
Pokémon Sword
Pokémon Shield
The Raven Remastered
Robbie Swifthand and the Orb of Mysteries
Sid Meier's Civilization VI (although cloud saves are supported in-game with a 2K account)
Splatoon 2
Super Dragon Ball Heroes World Mission
Taimumari: Complete Edition
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions (although cross-platform saves are supported externally by the developer)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution

We'll update this list as and when more games that don't support Nintendo Switch cloud saves come to light.
