Switch Xenoblade Chronicles

When it comes to rumours, leaks or anything tied to soon-to-air Nintendo Directs, all it takes is a simple social media post from a developer or individual to fuel speculation on the internet – to the point it often spirals out of control and raises hype to another level.

Soraya Saga (Kaori Tanaka) – who is married to Monolith Soft head Tetsuya Takahashi, and has worked as an artist/designer on the Xenoblade series and writer on earlier Xeno games, recently took to Twitter to announce she would no longer be retweeting Nintendo Direct announcements, in order to avoid igniting rampant speculation online.

As considerate as this is, we're guessing there'll still be at least one Monolith Soft employee out there on a social media platform posting about an upcoming Nintendo Direct in the future and sending the interweb into overdrive.

Monolith Soft most recently revealed a definitive edition of Xenoblade Chronicles is on the way to the Switch next year.

What do you think about Soraya Saga's decision? Would you like to see more developers and industry figures remain tight-lipped prior to events to avoid fueling hype? Tell us below.
