As you probably know by now, Epic Games pulled off what can only be described as one of the best marketing efforts seen in gaming over the last few days, refreshing Fortnite with a new map, a new name, and getting the world hooked on its battle royale gameplay once again. We often see the game be picked up by mainstream media and celebrities, such is its size and popularity, and yesterday was no different.

Music superstar and actress Lady Gaga tweeted about the game to her 79.7 million followers yesterday, or should we say 'almost' tweeted about it. Rather comically, considering today's climate where it's almost impossible to escape hearing about Fortnite in one way or another, she asked, "What's fortnight", misspelling the game's name. At the time of writing, the tweet has gone on to receive around 170,000 retweets, 700,000 likes, and more comments than we can count.

As you'd expect, the internet has done what it does best, giving people from all walks of life the opportunity to have their opinion on the matter. In the replies, you'll find countless instances of people explaining what a real 'fortnight' is, presumably chuckling away to themselves as they look over their Mensa membership documents; people asking for the world to "take Gaga’s phone away"; and some of the world's top Fortnite players even got in on the action, too.

Professional Smash Bros. player and Jigglypuff main, Hungrybox, called it the "best tweet of 2019".

While we can't know for definite - we'd try contacting Lady Gaga herself but something tells us we probably wouldn't get a response - we're pretty sure she knows exactly what Fortnite is. Last year, she revealed that she is a "secret gamer girl" and shared her current progress on Bayonetta.
