The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening feels like it's just around the corner now, possibly because it is, but that hasn't stopped us getting absolutely ravenous over new gameplay footage whenever it appears, and appear it has.
Nintendo UK have produced a whopping 30 minute presentation of the game from Gamescom, looking at some of the smaller details the game has to offer as well as a miniboss battle that we're sure veterans of the original will be able to recognise in a heartbeat. Check it out by watching it with your eyes and listening to it with your ears by using your hand/finger to activate the video above.
What more can Nintendo do to get your pulses racing for this excellent-looking remake? Drop us a comment down below, go on.

I don’t need to see it, just need to play it!
Absolutley Gorgeous!
When your third-favorite handheld Zelda game is getting a gorgeous remaster, how can you ignore new footage?
Already pre-ordered.
I've seen more charismatic presenters.
Can we get a classic Zelda that looks like that? maybe the second quest being the story of Zelda 2?
or Zelda Maker
Nope not watching. Not spoiling it! Lol.
I want to watch, and yet I don't. I'm looking forward to experiencing this for the first time next month.
I didn’t want to watch the video but I have no control. Just beautiful
Ughhhh I can't wait!!
The world feels much smaller when you aren't restricted to seeing just one screen at a time. The improved sense of overview does away with the "labyrinth" feel.
Feels too much like Oceanhorn just without the awkward camera angle. I might pick it up if ever I could finish Oceanhorn and A Link Between Worlds first.
I don't need to buy this; but I'll probably buy this.
I really wish they'd keep this style or something similar and redo link to the past, the original zelda, and start making new ones like this again. BOTW looked ok (i liked the look of wind waker more) but i'd much rather play the top down than 3d stuff.
@retro_player_22
Oceanhorn is so boring. It's like they said; 'let's copy zelda' and then did but lost all the good stuff in the process. Just BORING.
Well its a remake of a gameboy game therefore if u watch this 30 minutes u have already seen 10% of the game ^^
30 minutes?! That’s roughly 55% of the whole game!!! Spoilers!!!!!!!
Ignoring all spoilers like the plague! I cannot wait to absorb this beautiful game.
@Dm9982 ha ha I’m exactly the same
Between this, Dragon Quest 11, and Astral Chains.....holy crap, I’m going to be busy!
So they chose 30fps instead of the 60fps right? 'Cause this is way less smoothe and then suddenly choppy then the e3 showcase.
I won’t be watching any gameplay of this, I can’t wait to play it. Never played the original so I’m extra hyped
it's looking really good haven't played Links Awakening since i was in my teens
Started Windwaker HD on my wiiu while I await this, cannot wait!
I really hope the make a NEW Zelda in this style in the future instead of remaking old ones. Or at least remaking it using the story, but with new dugeons and much longer gameplay. A Link to the past extended version maybe?
Anyone else in the same boat as me? I want this, but not for $60. It's only like a 10 hour game, maybe. But I want it physical for my Zelda collection, so $60 it is...
EDIT: I would gladly pay $60 for Oracle of Ages and Seasons in this same style, both on the same cart, and if they did away with the passwords and just linked the secrets somehow.
I hope they remake link to the past next!
@Panopticon minish cap, with online multiplayer. Then we're talking about the 60.
Honestly, this feels expensive. Probably great, but... expensive.
@erv Also, FF: Crystal Chronicles Remake has me wanting a sequel to Four Swords Adventure, in the same art style as the original. I'll feel like I'm back in the Gamecube era all over again.
Honestly, I would spend $60 on any Zelda remake besides this one. It's a good game, don't get me wrong. It's just too short.
I see frequent comments regarding the cost of this game. Films often get remade and the price of the cinema, DVD etc. are not discounted because it is a remake. Take the Gameboy version and this version and compare the 2. It is not exactly a port. It is a new build from the ground up. The differences between the two and dev effort is obvious. I just don't get the argument that it should not be a full price release.
On another note, link to the past in this style next please.
I don't know if it's just my phone, or my internet connection, but I can't watch that video because it's too choppy! If it was encoded that way I hope Nintendo gets the message that that's a horrible way to promote their game! I'm excited for this game assuming it's going to be a buttery 60fps. If it's 30 I probably won't buy it. I hope they drop the resolution and whatever is necessary to achieve a smooth 60fps for this beautiful new classic!
@Duncanballs
Your analogy would make sense if buying a Blu-ray or going to the movie theater cost $90 (which is the price of this game in Canada).
Don't think I'll buy this, played it so much on the game boy, so other than new graphics and music i've done it all multiple times before
@Tyranexx
Eddie Murphy does the voice of the dragon.
Certainly to my mind his third best film.
I don’t think we can judge the price when we don’t know the length of this game yet. Yes we know the original was quite short but they will definitely add some new stuff. Question is how much new stuff. The fact that they are asking full price makes me think they’ve added a lot to the original. It would be classic Nintendo to not announce the new stuff ahead of release and let players discover it themselves.
@Franklin Definitely agree there!
@Mgene15 same here never played the original so makes it even better as a new story and everything else. Should be pretty good. Been playing link to the past on minisnes and still such a great game🤠👍👍👍
So wait Are we stupid???
