UK Charts: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Fends Off FIFA Threat For Second Week At Number One

Well deserved. I hope this game performs even better so we get to witness a new spring for this sort of games, specially when they dare to blend so many elements of different genres.

Who would buy fifa 19 if fifa 20 is coming out soon?

FE is my fav franchise, and 3 houses is an outstanding entry, but a success in UK is unbelieving.

Yeah that super personal opinion, but these things are like CoD, they serve no purpose are "updated" every year with no real new things and yet people still play them

@LetsGoSwitch fifa 19 is more or less fifa 20, just with different names. Just as fifa 18 is more or less fifa 19.

@TheRealKyleHyde they have been promoting American football a lot around here even with games played at the Olympic stadium (I passed close by a few weeks ago and it was full of fans)

Fire Emblem Three Houses is a masterpiece. And I don't use that term loosely. It's one of those games that will be talked about and cherished for years to come, even generations (as Awakening is still talked about today). I can't get enough, and I'm actually starting to get depressed knowing I'm 6 chapters away from completion. Thankfully, I have 2 other routes and the secret route yet to do. So I take solace in that at least.

UK still may not be Nintendo's best territory but it sure is a far cry from the Wii U and 3DS era. That's for sure. 2 weeks at number one is incredible for a Nintendo exclusive in the UK. Even more so being Fire Emblem.

Great! This game is so much fun. It has some flaws, but overall I would say it's my favorite game so far this year.

3 houses is a excellent game. A huge step up from Fates.

Currently finished what I believe is a secret route, have now moved onto the Blue Lions. I have so many questions from my first play-through story wise that I am hoping will be answered in the other routes.

FE sold about 8000 second week. A SRPG being number 1 is nothing short of spectacular.

Wow, I was thinking on passing on this game (I never finished a previous FE) but with all your comments I will rethink.

Either way, this is great for nintendo.

Awesome! It deserves it! This is definitely my favorite Fire Emblem game, and one of the best games published by Nintendo in my opinion.

So glad FE3H is getting the recognition it truly deserves. Anyone who is still sitting on the fence should definitely get onboard, you won't be disappointed.

Big drop for Marvel from 6 to 18. I'm yet to pick it up, whats people's views on this title, worth getting?

I personally LOVE Fire Emblem but that position is insane for an srpg!
I mean it's a niche genre to begin with.

Just for info Fifa 19 was released in septembre 2018.

What is really impressive is that Fifa 19 is STILL 2nd after an entire year on the market.

I just bought Fire Emblem over the weekend. Haven’t gotten far at all but I’m liking it.

@BANJO I mean if it weren't for minions spamming knock-down attacks constantly it would be a decent game.

When even the freaking Hulk gets stun-locked by a bunch of grunts throwing granades for 3-10 seconds you feel more like a tennis-ball than a Super Hero. Or a magicharp.
Yeah, this game makes the Hulk or any other of your favorite super heroes feel like magicharp.

So, buy Diablo 3 instead if you want to feel like a bad-ass. Because Marvel UA3 dropped the ball on that part. Shame since it has a fun story and an excellent character roster.

FE3H is just as amazing as I hoped it would be. Glad to see it doing well! The more Fire Emblem rises in popularity, the better. It's my favorite franchise, and I would love to see more remakes, spinoffs, crossovers, etc.

@Zimon Thanks for the opinion, I was tempted to get it at release but now the hype has gone down I will likely wait until I find it on offer. Diablo 3 I've often considered but not yet picked up, I might get that shortly...

@JaxonH This shocked me when I saw this. 2 weeks for any Nintendo game in a row would be great but Fire Emblem? Just wow! Glad to see Nintendo games finally getting the attention they deserve on these charts. We only have a bunch more to come!

I'm genuinely surprised this got a second week at the top in the UK. Three Houses is going to outsell ever other FE game by a pretty decent margin, I think.

So cool to see this franchise crawl back from the edge of extinction to become one of Nintendo's bigger properties.

I love this game but sadly it seems to be doing much worse in America. I checked a couple of days ago and it was #1 on Amazon UK, beating preorders for the upcoming FIFA 20 and CoD. Meanwhile on Amazon US it was #53.

The problem is that being in the UK top 10 typically on requires about 2000 sales or less. Being #1 obviously needs more but still not necessarily a huge amount. A game can do well everywhere else but flop in America and come out as a flop overall still.

I just want this series to do well, it was on death's door before they released it in the west for the first time with FE7. It's been up and down since, and is currently undergoing a sales decline again unless 3H turns it around.

@MS7000 I've just started the game myself but is it required to play through it again from the beginning with each house once completed? don't think I'll ever get to do that 😬

@PlayedNSlayed To get the full story you have to play through four routes. One for each house then an alternative one for one of the houses.

On a side note, is Fire Emblem Fates Conquest on 3ds worth picking up? I've seen it pretty cheap and thought of getting it. Although i don't play my 3ds anymore really but thought it might be worth having still

@PlayedNSlayed Probably not a good idea to get Conquest since you have 4 playthroughs of 3H to get through. 😆

But it's not bad, definitely the highlight of the otherwise awful Fates. If you want a classic FE experience, try New Mystery on the DS. It's a pure FE experience before they added all the waifu stuff. You'll need to get the fan translation though, it's easy to find.

If you told me this even after Awakening came out and revived the series. That a Fire Emblem game would chart #1 two weeks in a row in the UK. I still wouldn't believe it.

I finally dug in this weekend, and man it's a great game so far 22 hours in. I know i've still just scratched the surface. This is my first fire emblem I've felt like I really got into actually. So I'm definitely glad to see it doing well.

I think Three Houses will dethrone Awakening as my favorite FE game (granted, I haven't played them all). I like how well the different gameplay ingredients blend together. And most of the characters are great!

tbh Fire Emblem Three Houses is a far superior game than Fifa which is same old s**t from last year and the year before that

@electrolite77 I let SMM2 and FFX take a little rest, the hype was too big to let FE wait. But now I guess those titles will be on hold. Damn is Three Houses addictive! 😅

I actually really enjoy MUA 3. The game does force you to pick four characters and stick with them, which disappointed me a bit, but it's packed full content (with more on the way), has a good story and is very re-playable. The camera angles can get bothersome but overall I'd say if you like Marvel characters at all it's worth it. But obviously if you've waited this long I'd hold out a bit longer for a deal. I saw it, along with a few other Nintendo games (believe it or not Super Mario Odyssey as well) at my local Walmart for $50 today.

@Gamer83 Thanks for the recommendation. I've watched some more Youtube video's and read some more reviews... I think I'm aware with its issue's. It seems to look no better than a good 360 game but play's well for mindless fighting fun. I will pick it up as soon as it drops in price abit more.. like you said it's already starting to drop instore.. Thanks!!

Im a UK gamer but Fire Emblem isn't my type of game but im real happy to sell it hammer in a nice run for Nintendo.

Hoping this entry will get 5m+ sales.

@electrolite77 Yeah, sounds like a good idea! I'm also going on a vacation for four weeks starting next Monday, so I will have plenty of time to play it. The game is not for everyone, but if you like strategy games and rpg's and don't mind managing sims and high fantasy concepts, it might be for you. And with the total playtime and replayability, it's sure worth the money.

@Godzil I get what you mean, but what can you do? people still love the game, just like many of us like Mario and Zelda. Now paying huge amount of money for just a wep. skin, now that's what's conserning
