At the beginning of the month, we learned that Cooking Mama: Cookstar was headed to Switch thanks to appearances on two different ratings boards. Now, the first screenshots and pieces of gameplay info have been revealed.
The new info has been shared online by both Amazon Germany and Koch Media. You can see the screenshots for yourself below, and we've also dropped in a Google-translated version of the game's overview (thanks, Gematsu):

This game may not reach the heavens, but my disappointment certainly will.
The Hamburger & Fries image (the one with the pickle, not the flag) actually looks really good!

This is unironically one of my favorite game franchises of all time, And this is a day one purchase for sure.
Looks like this would be a fun time with my non-gaming partner. The only game we have been able to enjoy together so far is Super Mario Party.

Asking as someone who has never played a game in the series: is the goal to cook perfect recepies and to get there you play mini games? Or how does it work?

Welcome to Cooking Mama games.
Each recipe has step by step of cooking procedures.
You will do some process to cook a dish from beginning until the end.
Each process is like a mini game challenge.
Your objection is try to play the mini games successfully.
Each recipe has different amount of cooking process.
There is a time limit to do one step, it will be scored Bronze if you Failed, Silver if you did a little bit mistake but forgivable, Gold if you succesfully done. The medals you get each process will determine your final score.

Never played a Cooking Mama game but I've heard good things and always enjoyed other cooking games like Order Up. Might pick this up if it's priced right.

@Wavey84 Oooo, harsh. Nothing wrong with the SNL alumni, but it was a mediocre film at best. Still, we have a proper sequel in development which should be good!
@Wavey84 Not a massive fan of Jud Appatow. That said, I do love Anchorman and Trainwreck. I'm more of a fan of the older films like Naked Gun, Airplane, Planes, Trains & Automobiles etc.
