Earlier this year, Activision revealed Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy had sold more than 10 million units. It seems like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is also destined to become a major success for the company, after staying up in the charts for weeks on end and registering well over a million players online. And let's not forget the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which is finally making its way across to the Switch later this year.
So, what's next? During a recent earnings call, Activision's CEO Robert "Bobby" Kotick told investors the company has a lot of IP it knows fans would love to see make a return and even has some future announcements planned:
when you look at our IP library, we think there’s a lot of IP in there the fans are going to want to experience again. So now what I’d say stay tuned for some future announcements
Kotick also mentioned how there are now "a lot of opportunities" to grow existing IPs such as Crash and Spyro, and even consider "new content" after the success of the remasters.
Would you like to see more Crash and Spyro games from Activision? How about other classic IP owned by this company? Leave a comment below.

Remember what company is making this
Please make them run at 60fps! Or at least have an option to turn on a "performance" mode where resolution and/or other graphical settings are reduced in order to achieve a locked 60 frames per second. Games are more pleasant to watch at 60fps, and they have less input lag. Low input lag is part of what made Super Mario Bros so fun back in the 1980s.
........They're gonna put microtransactions into whatever new revival they put out, aren't they
Thanks to Jim Sterling, when I hear the name Bobby Kotick, I imagine a guy with devil horns and an evil grin.
@RyanSilberman If Lego games can get away with having Season Passes...
I want them to make another Skylander's game. Got into the game series last year, years after the last one was made. Lots of fun. Like a light, colorful Diablo.
I can't tell whether this is good or bad
On the one hand, more retro revivals is awesome. N. Sane Trilogy, Reignited Trilogy, and CTR Nitro-Feuled are all amazing
On the other, this is Activision, and they already snuck in microtransactions into CTR, so them doing this is concerning
If they're gonna continue pulling scummy sh** like they did with CTR, then I'd rather that Crash, Spyro, and whatever other retro IPs they own stayed dead.
At least they're expanding beyond just CoD. A new Pitfall could be good.
Watch as they try and revive Radical Rex.
Honestly, the only franchise of theirs that I would be even remotely interested in is Vigilante 8, and Twisted Metal PS3's failure probably scared them away from that franchise.
@KryptoniteKrunch
Agreed! I wouldn't mind seeing a compilation of their Atari 2600 games on the Switch too. Activision was definitely the #1 third party developer during the Atari days, back when they were actually a really awesome company.
If only Activision got the rights back to Pixar games, so they can make a Toy Story 2 Video Game remaster. Seriously, that game is one of the best licensed games out there.
Remake the first 4 Tony Hawk games!
Yes, please. Tony Hawk? Did Activision make any other sports games besides skating and snowboarding? Someone needs to make an NFL football game for the Switch, possibly even an MLB game.
I know RBI baseball is for the Switch, but a none arcade professional baseball game.
Blur, GUN, True Crime, Vigilante 8...
As someone who enjoyed the Crash Bandicoot on the Switch and hopefully get Spyro too. I look forward of Activision do more of those type of games.
I would love to play some Timesplitters again (Mayor Handy, cyborg monkey, Gingerbread man).
'Cough' and Square should make Parasite Eve remastered! 'Cough'
I’m pretty tepid on Crash, but I’d love Spyro to get a new AAA game.
Due to how good the Crash and Spyro trilogies are, I'm somewhat interested. But the moment I see another ingame store is the moment I pass on that game. Even without it, I'll probably wait on it.
I stupidly jumped into CTR thinking it was safe, despite the in-game shop. But then I felt the grind for the Tawna event, and quickly realized my mistake. Go figure, it was just a taste of the grind for the potential whales when they rolled out the MTX.
So... they gunna revive Blue Stinger then?
Stampede, Pitfall, Kaboom, Commando, Soldier of Fortune, Archon, 3 Stooges, Gladius. But mostly Gladius and Archon.
@dcstud Same here, I have every single one and want another. Im also okay with buying the figures and love collecting them
@MasterJay Great games, and those figures grew on me. Helped a lot that I didn't get into the series until after they had been discontinued so I could buy the figures in big lots for next to nothing. However the Imaginator toys have been a challenge to find good deals on. Still have for the most part. Just have to hunt so much longer.
Would be fantastic to see a Tony Hawk HD collection on Switch and a soft reboot returning to the first games design for everyone. Sadly Tony hasn't been involved in over a decade and the last game all but killed the name.
@Captain_Toad Vigilante 8 and Twisted Metal not having iterations in years is a gaming crime. Nobody does games like those and imagine a 30 person Battle Royale mode in a Twisted Metal or Vigilante 8 game. Would be a blast.
@biglittlejake Speaking of revivals and sports games, I’d throw my money so fast at an honest to God NFL Blitz remake! Doubt that will ever happen though, who knows where the rights to that one ended up when Midway folded.
It will be Pitfall HD and you have to pay 99¢ to avoid each pit.
"Fire Bobby Kotick!"
@Priceless_Spork Archon wasn’t Activision, it was Electronic Arts, but I agree Archon and Archon 2 we’re both great games. Gladius was great on the Xbox.
@Priceless_Spork
I think the Three Stooges could make an interesting beat-em up, if they ever made a new game based on the IP.
Yep, I've been needing Tony Hawk on my switch! Even if it's just a no-effort emulation with original PS1 resolution, I'll be there.
Isn't Modern Warfare 2 a classic they could revive? 1080p 60fps wireless local play and 4 player split screen.
Hmm Activision and bobby Kotick.
I keep my exeptations low
Wonder how many of the 10m were Switch copies?
One of the best games on the C64, Ghostbusters Ghostbusters_(1984_video_game)
Really hope they will remake Crash Bash.
@Bloodmetal
Stupid wiki. Archon would be great or a derivitive made by some indie..I played Gladius on the gamecube. It could use a modern upgrade.
@Galarian_Lassie
Hell yeah gimme some stooges. A beat em up is absolutely perfect! Pick up and throw road pies. Grab a wrench and crank some noses. Popping a weasel plays a 10 second tune and makes you temporarily invincible, about face with a ladder takes out 3 at once, abruptly stopping in the middle of a frackass and holding out a fist for the enemy to hit causing a big circular haymaker, using dodge to hold your hand to your face to avoid an eye poke etc on and on. Brilliant! Make this game already!
@arekdougy @SpacedDuck they did sort of make a Tony Hawk remake in Pro Skater HD but unfortunately it was average. Unless they throw a bunch of cash at it and a good developer, then whatever remake they do will end up like HD and 5. I'd give it to vicarious visions as they used to handle the ports in the past if I remember correctly....
@SpicyBurrito16 I agree, I used to play toy story 2 loads when I was younger! Toy story for the mega drive was really good too!
They will probably remake fishing derby and charge £15 for a rod licence in order to play the game!
@PBandSmelly *publishing
Who owns M.u.l.e ? I want a remake.
8-bit Activision compilation please. (I reckon they weren't looking so far back lol)
they should renew the tony hawk License - and port thps 1 to 4 combined for switch ;D LOCAL MULTIPLAYER - OFFLINE included ... not like that **** thps5 bugfest with online only mp ....
Personally, I'd love a Crash Bash remake. Such a great mario party game boasting a sweet 2 player coop campaign. Although, I wouldn't mind if they lowered the difficulty in single player a notch or two...
@Priceless_Spork
I was gonna say I was surprised Activision made Archon but I saw the later posts about how it is EA. Gladius would be nice but I'm afraid it caters to few people, which is different from Spyro and Crash that had a big established fanbase.
I came here looking for what other franchises they own but it seems like they don't own many I care too much for.
Crash team racing nitro fueled online multiplayer and load times are still a joke. Maybe fix these issues before moving to next project. Activision is in my black books.
I'm all in for old classics to be remade, but not if you ruin them with DLC or Micro transactions.
I could talk all day about great games i drop in an emulator to play again, but man, it just can't be done in todays times.
I'd love to see the original Guitar Hero games make their way over to Switch.
Not the latest one cause it was a pile of crap
@biglittlejake Yes - Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX (2 games), Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder and Wakeboarding Unleashed featuring Shaun Murray.
@sabrewing Piko Interactive hold the IP rights for Radical Rex, they published a Windows port of the SNES version on Steam earlier this year.
I'd guess Guitar Hero Metallica is one of them, Activision still seems to be able to license Metallica as shown by the new CoD game and Metallica is the one of the biggest gaps when it comes to songs in Guitar Hero games that haven't come to Rock Band so Activision would be able to get more Rock Band fans to buy the remake/remaster.
Rare, Microsoft, are you listening?
This is neat and all, but if you're going to stuff microtransactions in remasters of 20 year old games again, no thanks. I'd rather you not touch beloved franchises and ruin them with your corporate agenda.
Can it be Viligante 8 from Nintendo 64/PS1? That’s a fun car dereby game.
@DockEllisD love me some seaquest!!
@Sabrewing A new Twisted Metal would be good. I haven't played that in years!
Of course, it could just be the nostalgia talking.
@Zimon one Bobby Kotick fired in the direction of your house. Brace for impact. Your bank account has already been charged for VIP rendezvous service.
@Captain_Toad some of these can't even seem to be digitally purchased anymore. And I sure would double-dip with GUN - a game that tried a pretty ambitious amount of stuff for its day, but Steam version's controller support is an odd experience.
@dcstud I would too, but they will just turn it into a microtransactions fest.
What else do they even have after Crash and Spyro?
May as well just bin all these projects off and just make "Lootbox x Microtransaction : The Game," eh, Activision?
@sixrings If they bring back MW2. They would likely do the a proper remaster like MW 2016, so we'll properly never see it on the switch.
So Activision can find a way to sneak microtransactions in again? No thanks.
if we ever get a twinsanity remake i will cry
Have the micro transactions been added to ctr yet? I haven’t seen them...
To everyone afraid or assuming they will put microtransactions in other remakes, that could happen...
But only if the games are stuff like ctr because realistically they only way they would be able to get away with that in platformers and other stuff would be if they had cosmetics for certain things and the chances of those being in a single player game like a platformer or something is one in a billion. You guys are overreacting because of one thing to the point that you are throwing logic out the window, please just calm down.
I am super disappointed no one considered Zork HD. Just think! It would be in 80 column mode unlike the C64 version. Not sure if the switch can match the blistering speed of a C64 floppy drive though...
Gimme all those Wumpa coins! My credit card is at the ready for those sweet micro-transactions...
As much as the re-masters have been great games, I have little to no faith Craptivision won't royally screw up any new titles. They have great developers working for them, just a shame they can't wind in their greedy, corporate neck.
I love the crash series. Bring them onboard
@BlueOcean I REALLY HOPE THEY SEE YOUR COMMENT TOO I WANT REMASTERS OF BANJO-KAZOOIE FRANCHISE TOO 🤞🏻🤞🏻😍
PLEASE MAKE BANJO-KAZOOIE JIGGY TRILOGY FOR NINTENDO SWITCH

@Guh-huhbro26 Yep, after Mario, Sonic, Crash, Spyro and even Bubsy (!) we really need Banjo-Kazooie.
