Nintendo has uploaded a new trailer for PlatinumGames' Astral Chain, showing off almost ten minutes of gameplay footage.
The video gives us a good look at the title's "synergetic action", taking us through the basics of the game, sync attacks, legion types, special abilities, how strengthening your legion works, and more. If you're feeling the hype for the game's August release, this could be well worth a watch.

That's funny that I've just remembered about Chaos Legion, which had the same gameplay concept (Legions) 16 years ago.

It blew my mind back then to find out that Vanquish is only 30fps on PS3, despite being such an immensely fast and fluid game.
O.k ten minutes isn't a trailer and why must they insist on showing everything before it's release. I don't want to see it, i want to enjoy the game when i play it.
I am getting heavy Xenoblade Chronicles 2 vibes from this one.
The battle system seems heavily inspired (copied pretty much) from it.
It does look good though.

Sadly the game runs at 30fps and in a "low resolution".
It's the only game that interest me this year on the Switch so I'm going to buy it but I can't stop being sad that this game is not running on another systems with minimum 1080p/60fps or better 4K/60fps.

I think it looks nice, but it's a shame to see a Platinum game not run at 60fps. Imo, 60hz responsive gameplay should have been prioritised over pretty graphics.
@chrissoul Copied? Xenoblade’s combat and this game’s combat are nothing alike. Xenoblade plays like an mmo with auto attacks and skills on cooldown, whereas this is a character action game.

@YANDMAN Hear hear! Yea there's so many "First 20 Minutes of Gameplay" videos out there. I figure a trailer should show you if you're going to be interested, after that play it yourself. So much spoilers.
Looks fricking amazing!
The game looks fantastic. Polished sci-fi universe and intense combat action. I only hope it’s balanced out with exploration and investigations. Let’s not forget the disappointment of Starlink. All that hype, complete with gorgeous trailers that got the community salivating, resulted in a game fatally flawed with repetitive gameplay and an uninspired storyline. (Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Starlink, but it’s nothing compared to what we all hoped it’d be.)
As for framerate, let me put it this way. For most of gaming history, we got by with fewer than 60FPS. My favorite game of all time, BotW, never achieves that and doesn’t need to. If a game is well-designed and makes the most of the system it’s on, you shouldn’t notice. I know I don’t.

I have this preordered and looking forward to getting it. Currently playing through Nier Automata(fantastic game), so this will be nice transition to go to. I hope the soundtrack is as great as NA too seeing as it's the same composer I believe

To make it short, the game runs at 30fps BUT it seems to run at 60 in the video.
My point was that it's exactly what Super Metal Dave did by interpolation to turn a 30fps video to 60 !

@PCkid According to YouTube Stats, the Action Trailer runs at 30fps and SuperMetalDave64’s footage runs at 60fps. The Action Trailer is not using that version of the game footage.
