Update: The North American limited edition bundle has also been revealed. It appears to contain the artbook (which looks lovely) but not the Game Boy steelbook.
Original Article:The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is undoubtedly one of the most exciting releases on the Switch horizon for plenty of Nintendo fans. As such, the game is going to be treated to a wonderful looking limited edition.
At the time of writing, this particular edition has only been confirmed for a European release. It features a physical copy of the game, a 120-page artbook, a Game Boy-themed steelbook case, and a lovely box to put it all in.
Earlier today, a special Link's Awakening amiibo was also revealed. All of these goodies will be available on 20th September.

hoping for a NA release. i want it, but i was gonna ask for this game for my birthday (sep 5), and i don’t want to ask my parents to pay import & custom fees as well. so if no NA release i’ll just get the non-steelbook NA version :/ (obv will still be super grateful!!)
This is what I like to see in CEs - nice, big artbooks! A soundtrack CD would've also been nice, but this is still neat and I will probably be picking it up.
As much as I love this, the only thing that saddens me is that this doesn't come with the Link Amiibo. That would have been the cherry on top.

The steelbox is certainly nice but what about that boxart. Is that 3D hologram stuff or the most magnificent piece of artwork I've ever seen on a videogame box? It almost makes the mountain island look like it is a 3D model inside an aquarium.

Interestingly, it was also my very first Zelda game.
In general, I vastly prefer the Capcom-developed Oracle games. Although my favorite top down Zelda game is inarguably ALBW.
In terms of 3D Zelda, OoT and TP are at the bottom of my list. Really like Majora's Mask, though (particularly the 3DS remake), and BotW was fantastic.

@Ralizah It's funny, you don't like Awakenings despite it being your first Zelda game, yet I love it exactly for that reason.
But maybe I'm just too attached to the memories and nostalgia, which may also explain why I can't get into this remake at all; they can improve the gameplay, layout, maybe even add puzzles and challanges, but they can't improve my happy memories ;w;

@Alundra-1998 It kind of does, but this looks like it has depth to it, as nice as the Smash banner was it still looked flat. And it didn't wrap around the box. Wrapping around the box is what made this one look like a fish tank to me. Now watch the artwork on the actual box not wrap. 😂
@BakaKnight I tend to like remakes like this and FF7R, as they give me a fresh perspective on old games I'm otherwise very settled in my opinion toward.
Also, some of the footage in the trailer just plain looked foreign to me. I didn't remember it from the game at all. I don't know if that's because the trailer showcased some new content (besides the dungeon creator at the end), or because my memory of the game is flawed.

@Ralizah I'm positive there was new content in the trailer..that or we both have flawed memories XD
But I really think there is something new or different in this remake, however I can't tell if it's a new area or just a couple of updated/altered mechanics.

I was going to wait a while to get the game but this limited edition makes me want to preorder it to secure it. Damn you Nintendo. This and the Catherine limited edition is going to hurt me in September.

The American version looks disappointing and pointless unless you are a big fan of art books (which I seem to put away somewhere soon after I buy the special edition they were included in). No way that is going to get me to pay extra.

@BakaKnight Good. That probably means they actually changed aspects of the game design. Link's Awakening is sounding better and better. Although I'm still hesitant to pay through the nose for an eight-hour Game Boy game.

Annoying that NA doesn't get the whole package and the book doesn't look as nice but whatever, Steelbooks are 100% pointless anyway.

We assume it's not from Nintendo UK if so then all NA buyers will get screwed by Scalpers. I myself would have to import the EU version just to get a steelcase.

That's it, you can all stop trying to top this. This is officially the best steelbook ever. Very biased obviously, but what opinion isn't? It was my first game and gaming system ever. My favourite series and one of the best games in it.
Here in Europe the limited edition box no doubt will be sullied with a gigantic usk logo, so I guess I just go for the standard version. I like the box-art by the way.
Europe, consider yourselves the luckiest country on the face of the earth. I would so get that special edition if I could.

Not sure about that art book, judging by the common video game art book, but if it's ACTUALLY cool, and includes some of the original concept art by Katsuya Terada, then I'm game.

@Trajan Why do they do this? It makes no sense for the Steelbook not to be available in the US. I'm definitely not buying the "Dreamers Edition". I don't even own a Switch yet, but would have bought the special edition if it was the steelbook.
